Ironically @MrsCervone_AP@MrsHollyGerlach and I started #hcpsteach just for that! We needed a way to network and collaborate across the district. 💗 The rest is history.

A1b- don’t make each other feel like they are dumb for asking ?s. Sometimes that happens to me and it just shuts me down. I feel so proud when someone asks me advice about school-related “stuff” #hcpsteach
A1 Being genuinely open to helping others bc they’ll want to help you, too. Enthusiasm for helping others helps foster those relationships/collaborative environments. My local PLN is growing, but @NatashaRRivera has always been my inspiration to grow on Twitter 👍 #hcpsteach
A1 Find ways to connect with others at your school. Our Hammond book study has been great for this! Share ideas together, plan out activities, ask questions! @melissahays23 and @ldumont82 keep me on my toes! So grateful for them! 😍 #hcpsteach

I'm always late! Wish I could say I was off saving the world but it has been the busiest week ever so I literally was just sitting here staring at the wall hahaha. But hello #hcpsteach and all of my fave friends :D
A2 the biggest benefit I have gained from my PLN is support on days when things wear me down. THe year is long, and I have yet to get on Twitter or visit with my PLN where I do not feel motivated at the end of it. Reenergizing and so beneficial #hcpsteach
Both! :). We have it offered after school and the same topic offered on Twitter later that evening. This makes it easier for people to attend even with our crazy schedules. It's been great! #hcpsteach

A2: I have so often felt isolated and growing my PLN has made me realize the humongous amount of like-minded individuals that are out there and I just didn't know yet! SO glad to have found you guys. I can't even put it into words. #hcpsteach

I think we all also get motivated to push ourselves because we see so many others doing great things. This is more than just being competitive, its because we see what CAN be done. #hcpsteach

A3: I literally don't know if I can point a specific instance because there's so many. I am certain of it that my PLN has made me a much better teacher. My Ss have benefited from all angles. I run to twitter before I would run next door. #hcpsteach
A3 Added these (I’ll add more as Twitter won’t let me right now) after my PLC/PLN ... I changed my grading to standards-based based on my supportive PLN #HCPSteach
I love the risk taking point. SO true, doesnt have to mean doing things that dont make sense, but stepping out of comfort zone to give Ss a better experience, great point. #hcpsteach

A3 Mistakes, literally mistakes. Sharing by my PLN about what worked with their students and what didn’t strategy wise helped to build a positive classroom which embraces mistakes. Now we inspect mistakes and learn from them as part of the process #hcpsteach

A4 We have probably all built our PLN in similar ways, but I struggle still with helping those that are just getting started. It take TIME to build one up, and the Real life meeting I think makes a HUGE difference as well. #hcpsteach

THat is so cool. It is always fun to see your idea spread like a wild fire. It adds to your ability to know you are making a difference outside the walls of your classroom as well. #hcpsteach
Thanks to my team teacher, @melissahays23 I got the idea of allowing Ss to retry. When they get a grade, they take it home and reflect on why they missed what they missed, then correct their mistakes. Its totally optional, but they see their growth #hcpsteach

A4: When Meeting face to face don’t forget to share your handle. Encourage reluctant user to join. And when you find like minded peopld online join up with them often in chats. #hcpsteach

A5: I want to figure out how to make our #hcpsteach#failingforward grid grow. People love the idea of sharing mistakes with each other, but don't want to actually do it, it seems. 🤷
I would love to devote time each week in my class to a genius hour where my students pursue their own interest with a focus on math analysis. I’ve been dreaming on this one for awhile. #hcpsteach
