Hello #arvrinedu my experience was interesting, terrible grades at 1st, F,D,F, A, A, A --> I finally got it b/c i could visualize it more, still remember it frm 1985
It was pretty easy, but I had a great teacher. I loved that I could easily relate it to the world around me. Math wasn’t like that for most of my earlier education #ARVRinEdu
i took Calc in HS got final grade B+, could have paid to transfer that to college, but thought i'd like to take again and improve, got a 3 credit D freshman year #arvrinedu Scantron 1 test course sigh

A1: students have a hard time visualizing 2d concepts they have seen flat on paper forming or in net form making actual 3D shapes #AR makes it possible to visualize those in the real world 📝🧠👍#ARVRinEDU
A2: I don't teach it, but I teach a lot of math teachers. Helping them integrate technology and answering the question 'Give me an example for math' is always one of my goals! #ARVRinEDU
Oh please, I'm a Lisa groupie 😆 You're awesome my friend! BTW, I'll be in the Waco area next week for a PD training in McGregor. Maybe we (@mcnairan3@KariEspin) could all meet up. #ARVRinEDU
A2: I have seen math teachers use everything from cardboard and popsicle sticks to spaghetti and marshmallows to teach geometry concepts-most of course bought with their own $-but that’s what good teachers do- whatever it takes :) #ARVRinEDU
As I began learning how to teach and understanding student centered learning and hands-on, experiential learning I realized my #geometry teacher stunk! #ARVRinEDU
True, some educators can really spoil a subject for learners. It's too bad that we have those kind of experiences, but hopefully they are far and few between. #ARVRinEDU
A3 Ss can explore as they need and develop a more authentic understanding by looking at objects, rather than on paper, use tools to connect shapes #arvrinedu
A3: #AR tools can help teachers bring geometry concepts to life in the classroom-having the ability to create, manipulate, and dissect the shapes. In addition you don’t need materials for an entire class roster to cut and glue $🤪 #ARVRinEDU
I like that there isn't consumables. If you have access to the technology, you should use it! #ARVRinEDU Also, students can better visualize rather than on paper
I’ve been pushing for it, but most things require a device that has surface detection, unfortunately that isn’t fully integrated into the majority of phones or tablets #arvrinedu
A5: @shapes3d Would love to see record feature in #AR mode to have students explain their learning or discuss a concept and/or an annotation tool 😁 #ARVRinEDU
Teaching #Geometry? Check out this #ARVRinEDU app @Shapes3D! I don't know the correct words, but you can pull the shape apart and see the connections & walls! #LoyolaET
We all know vocab is necessary, but not crucial for understanding. Visuals and feeling it is much more important. Just made this video - it shows it all
Thank you #ARVRinEDU for the opportunity to collaborate on #Geometry resources. We look forward to continuing the conversation as we release more upcoming tools.
A14 Have been working with it for 2 years, learned a ton from @JaimeDonally and then from my Ss, had extra time to learn on my own in June, always more to learn #lifelonglearning#ARVRinEDU#istebook
