Hello #satchat Jackie from CT. Former high school social studies, current library media and certified #GoogleEI ready to chat about rich learning with tech
Good morning #satchat - Ryan from NYC here. Professor, doctoral student @Mville_College, and #edtech enthusiast always looking for new and innovative ideas for my classrooms!
A1: Digital can make traditional lessons better by offering more student choice, options for collaboration, and learning beyond the classroom. #satchat
Your corruption was not a flesh wound, but a systemic rot of your entire being. YOU were never going to let you be president, because you are a greedy, lying grifter. You weren’t born a Clinton, but you took to being one like a duck to swamp water. https://t.co/gImguH0yWs
A1 Tech can help break down the barriers of time, place, and pace. Also provides a gateway to creativity. Used @gsuite and anything the kids could find #satchat
#satchat Good Morning! Bronwyn from CT, where are seeing some beautiful sunshine! I am an #ELA#middleschool#teacher, and I am looking forward to returning to #school after our spring break.
A1: instead of the typical storytelling on paper, we created the #twima projects so classrooms from around the world could collaborate on making a book together. #twima 8 is an oral storytelling project using @Flipgrid Would love #satchat peeps to join.
https://t.co/mts2k7mAuQ
A1: I love how digital tools allow students be more creative with their work and to have more choice in how they learn. Students use digital tools to amplify their voice and take ownership of their learning. #satchat
A1: In math class, I find using digital tools while practicing a skill is effective for Ss and T - most give immediate feedback or allow Ss to check solutions, building more independent problem solvers #satchat
A1: Our Spanish classes have used Google Earth to 'visit' locations and then record in Spanish what they learned about that location. Very powerful #satchat#NotAWorksheet
A1: Every lesson we teach can be enhanced via digital integration, from using tech to create authentic learning products to Kahoot, Quizzlet, and many more for review, Ss get and stay engaged & critical thinking increases! #satchat
A1: We have been starting to collaborate with schools using #gridpals on @flipgrid. Doing virtual field trips using @SkypeClassroom. Allows students to collaborate across the world. Also doing virtual book talks this week! #Satchat
A1: My Ss have been doing hyperdocs to learn background information on authors and times periods, as well as basic info on literary and grammatical structures. We use @Flipgrid for reflection and academic feedback. #satchat
A1 To augment the reach of the lesson providing students access to a broader spectrum of info, more opportunities to interact with that information, more and varied choice for response, and less lesson lecture. #satchat
A1: We've also used @BookCreatorApp on iPad and Chrome to make amazing digital books instead of the traditional. We then publish to a global audience which makes all the difference. https://t.co/HQQpFLbWFU#satchat
A1: I’m using digital tools to enhance communication and feedback between myself and Ss through hyperdocs, google classroom, flipgrid, & digital portfolios. Also to facilitate collaboration among Ss #satchat
A1 Using Office 365 to transform leaning. Through having students create a digital book using @sway and sharing about solutions to real world problems! #MIEEXpert#satchat
A1: energize learning my sparking curiosity, promoting risk-taking, providing agency, and allowing collaboration... support all of that with tech for sharing and communication. #satchat#GoogleEI
A2: I've been using @GoogleForEdu (Classroom, Slides, Sites, etc.) to let Ss collaborate, create, and get feedback from me and ultimately modify to improve. #satchat
We are less than one month away from the 4th Annual Tomorrow’s Classrooms Today Conference. Keynote speakers are @e_sheninger@principal_el. Close to 80 innovative sessions to choose from. Still time to register! #Satchat#TCT18https://t.co/WpBcUoK6Er
A1: I choose tools based on the outcome I want to achieve and not the "cool" of the tool itself. I want the tech to engage Ss in the experience and accelerate learning. #satchat
A1: Anything digital can increase engagement w/ my 4th Ss, but 2 truly energize & involve Ss need 2 b creating or collaborating themselves. @GoogleForEdu is great place 2 start! #SATCHAT@StephDeLuca16
A1: By creating more student feedback and assessment opportunities. Backchannelling, student response systems, and similar all help guide the learning and close the gap between expectations and actual outcomes. #satchat
A1: another thing to use when I taught #engchat was @diigo I still use it in my doctoral classes along with @noodletools to organize and share #Satchat
A1 personalization of our products is the main goal of tech in my room. Students research, collaborate , & create w few limits on topics or tools #SatChat
A1 My students are using CoSpaces to create virtual reality experiences. One team created a VR to teach students about invasive Phragmites. They used Google Forms to created a breakout room assessment. It's all on the website they created! https://t.co/v2X9QKy9gV#satchat
A1: Our Spanish classes have used Google Earth to 'visit' locations and then record in Spanish what they learned about that location. Very powerful #satchat#NotAWorksheet
A1: Digital tools open up avenues for exploration, creativity and multiple forms of expression which allows each S to have a personal learning experience #satchat
A1 make digital central to active, thoughtful, learning where kids search, create, collab, make, and communicate rather than complete screensheet work #satchat
A1. Any type of visual support is helpful. We need to be responsive to how our teachers like to learn also. No one wants to listen and watch me stand at the front of the room and talk and talk and talk during a staff meeting. #Satchat
A1: Digital tech tools need utilized with skills like collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and communication to break down walls in classrooms for Ss and Ts, while solving real-world and inquiry-based problems. #satchat
A1: Digital tools allow for individualizing learning, access for all and many opportunities to create not just consume content!! Student voice/choice! #satchat
A1: With our administrative team, we are using GSuite for communication and transparency among our team; online learning opportunities with all faculty i.e, MOOCs, and connecting with the world via social media :-) #satchat
I would say I don't use digital tools to energize and elevate traditional lessons- because I don't do traditional lessons! So much of what we do has changed ( or needs to change)- and digital tools are just one component to facilitate that #satchat
constant formative assessments, appsmashing, VR to introduce a topic. I just finally created a unit with no frickkin packets and have started to add in student products. ie shared slide presentation. #satchat
A1: My Ss have been doing hyperdocs to learn background information on authors and times periods, as well as basic info on literary and grammatical structures. We use @Flipgrid for reflection and academic feedback. #satchat
A1: I’m encouraging Ts to use technology as a tool to infuse creativity, choice, & collaboration into the classroom. Also, reminding Ts that tech is a tool that should enhance the T&L happening in the classroom. #satchat
Have you seen the GBL platform, Do I Have A Right? It's in @icivics website, and it can be played in Spanish. Great cross curricular opportunity #satchat
They are awesome. I love the fact that you're pointing out another tool that students can use to CREATE. Need to remove the drill and kill of tech. It's actually dragging scores/learning down. #satchat
A1: Our Spanish classes have used Google Earth to 'visit' locations and then record in Spanish what they learned about that location. Very powerful #satchat#NotAWorksheet
A1: Ss love using technology during center time such as razkids, and spelling city. They also ❤️ watching videos about a topic for introduction #satchat@ClassTechTips
A1: In math class, I find using digital tools while practicing a skill is effective for Ss and T - most give immediate feedback or allow Ss to check solutions, building more independent problem solvers #satchat
A1: I’m using digital tools to enhance communication and feedback between myself and Ss through hyperdocs, google classroom, flipgrid, & digital portfolios. Also to facilitate collaboration among Ss #satchat
#satchat And u wonder where our children r learning 2 become enraged, violent and dangerous at? Time to start Removing these so called educators & get Real teachers who love to teach. An 11 year old was hit by a car and killed yesterday marching. https://t.co/t2l96nw9o5
A1b: I have also used @SmorePages for monthly newsletter and this has allowed students to become producers of video content and they also share written work. They now use @Flipgrid to propose ideas for the publication #Satchat
A1: I still hover near the A and M ranges of the SAMR model, but #edtech has let me broaden the horizons for students as they dig deep and explore further than they did before while also working on skills they need to develop. #satchat
#Satchat A1; I would love to hear more about both the tools, but also the human interaction get developed through the tech. How do you teach students to be collaborators with the tech
A1: Technology can heighten collaboration. Google Docs make it so easy for students to share ideas and for teachers to comment and review discussions. #satchat
Working with small groups of Ts first. Allow them to fail forward and create a safe space for them to share successes and challenges with this instructional shift. #satchat
A1: We have been starting to collaborate with schools using #gridpals on @flipgrid. Doing virtual field trips using @SkypeClassroom. Allows students to collaborate across the world. Also doing virtual book talks this week! #Satchat
A1: By creating more student feedback and assessment opportunities. Backchannelling, student response systems, and similar all help guide the learning and close the gap between expectations and actual outcomes. #satchat
A1:I love using technology to increase Ss engagement & connect with parents. Love @Flipgrid@StoryBots@RemindHQ Remind allows me to send parents tips & resources too. #satchat
A1: My favorite tool is to use @PearDeck with my #GoogleSlides to add some formative assessments and engagement. #SatChat Great for students and adults in PD.
A1 Our students are creating apps and games. Discovering their entrepreneurial side has them truly engaged in classes. To create their projects they need skills from all their classes. #Satchat
A1 We use a variety of digital tools like @TenMarks for math and @MobyMax for LA. @GetKahoot helps kids study. @Flipgrid helps kids share what they have learned with others. #satchat
A2 Students can pretty much create anything now! Book, movie, blog, website, 3D printed objects, you name it. Even better than their shift from consumer to creator, is the change in available audience from the classroom to the world. #satchat
Playing around with ScratchBit prototype! Using the built in speed sensor to capture the speed of my swing, orange button to swing, and green flag button to reset the ball to random position.
The possibility with this device are endless!
A1: as a #principal in school now, I use #edtech tools to communicate and train and for #cyoa pd. Give choice to Ts and model it so Ss will get it too. #Satchat
#satchat A1: Skype offers us the opportunity to chat f2f with French speakers & other interesting people around the world. The most reluctant learner may get on board when we connect in this way.
A1 Blogging tools such as @Kidblog allows my Ss to have an authentic audience for their writing, which has elevated their excitement for writing #satchat
Right? I don’t know what a traditional lesson is, honestly. My first ESL lessons involved Sports Ill for Kids online and I’ve been teaching w Google since 2000. #SatChat
A little off-topic: I have a quick question to my amazing #PLN: Anybody know of people/programs that support digital entrepreneurship of Ss and/or educators? I'm studying how such programs work outside Israel. Thanks! #satchat
A1b: @Screencastify to have students create and use their voice ! Students can create/read their own book, make newscasts, go on virtual field trips and be their own guides, etc. I loveeee Screencastify.
As with anything that's going up on big the screen in real time, need to know your audience. You can also keep the chat on your own screen (not projected) and use for Q&A and a quick vessel for sharing links/resources. #satchat
Exactly. Ss would use street view and then screenshot the space they found most interesting. Then use @DoInkTweets and green screen to record themselves w/ location as a backdrop. #satchat
In reply to
@ClassGeis, @googleearth, @DoInkTweets
A1b We use Google classroom, forms, docs, slides & more, treasuring the ability to collaborate & comment. Teachers share their newest digital finds at pop-up PDs and edcamps. Lots of sharing as teachers see the benefits. #satchat
As long as you set up structure for the Ss, it works well. Mine write out their response to the reflection ? first so they know what they want to say and it won't take forever to record. I also give sentence starters for feedback and reminders for digital citizenship. #satchat
#satchat In my ELA classes, I use Nearpod to present my lessons. The students are more engaged due to the diverse activities (Collaborate, Polls, Drawing,Quizzes and Open Response). There is never a dull moment and I get real-time feedback!
A1 - We have found some success in using simulations to help teach planning through “executing” a student’s plan in a gaming enviornmant. To include old-school analogue teaching of immediate feedback and repeating the game to immediately see improvement. #Satchat
A1. Google Forms make daily writing prompts a snap. Student Twitter accounts let them annotate texts and converse with classmates in real time. And @EquityMaps creates GORGEOUS data dashboards to help us study and improve our Socratic Seminars. #satchat
A2: Students can create anything (podcasts, VR, video, 3D model, visual texts, plays...) even with limited resources they prototype ideas by building, drawing, even role playing ideas #satchat#GoogleEI
A2: Shift from content consumers to creators by using tech beyond content publishers to using content creation tools to show what they know like video, podcasts, websites, presentations, infographics, etc #satchat
A2 Students can pretty much create anything now! Book, movie, blog, website, 3D printed objects, you name it. Even better than their shift from consumer to creator, is the change in available audience from the classroom to the world. #satchat
A1 ~ The World Languages teachers I work with love Quizlet to practice vocabulary and engage students in competition. I introduced PearDeck this year, but I haven’t seen it implemented much. #satchat
A1) Ss will be taking apart released state assessments & creating more distractors. Then we will make a @GetKahoot w them.
(This is in #ESL to support content classes & language development)
#ellchat#satchat
The only thing that has remained " traditional " is the format of our lesson plans and I've been a big promoter of changing those as well !! The only thing abt them that changed is I submitted them on paper, then I floppy disk, now online #satchat
A1: Our Spanish classes have used Google Earth to 'visit' locations and then record in Spanish what they learned about that location. Very powerful #satchat#NotAWorksheet
A1: I’m using digital tools to enhance communication and feedback between myself and Ss through hyperdocs, google classroom, flipgrid, & digital portfolios. Also to facilitate collaboration among Ss #satchat
A1c A parent came in to teach my community problem solving team how to do GIS mapping, using Google maps and data the students collected using a Google form community survey of invasive plant sightings. #satchat
A1: By creating more student feedback and assessment opportunities. Backchannelling, student response systems, and similar all help guide the learning and close the gap between expectations and actual outcomes. #satchat

A2: Tutorial videos, blogs, a hyperdoc - anything that allows them to grasp that the most powerful tools for educational voice are at their fingertips #satchat
Whitnee Grant first grade teacher from SC
A1: I love have tech tools increase peer to peer feedback. They are learning so much from each other! #satchat
To elevate teaching & learning, ask 3 questions before each lesson:
1. Why are we using tech?
2. Where does this fall on Bloom's Taxonomy?
3. Where does this fall on the SAMR Model?
#satchat
A1: I’m using digital tools to enhance communication and feedback between myself and Ss through hyperdocs, google classroom, flipgrid, & digital portfolios. Also to facilitate collaboration among Ss #satchat

RT ClassTechTips "A2: Students can use open-ended creation tools to make content to share information they have learned and convince an audience #satchat"
A2: Showing what they know has to go with giving them choice in how they show it. Ts don’t need to be expert on all tech. Empower Ss to lead others. Give them an audience beyond just the teacher. #satchat
A2: @GoogleForEdu has many tools that enable Ss to be creators. Another piece I am adding to lessons is a @Flipgrid reflection for Ss to share their learning. #satchat
A2 Our 5th graders coded @Sphero to complete a golf hole they created, our 6th graders created TEDTalks, and our 7th and 8th graders created created multimedia presentations for poetry. #satchat
A1: Our administrative team recently met with @iThinkHighDef to discuss our how we will give teachers ongoing PD on intentional uses of technology in their classroom and with their colleagues. @MrCCollington78#satchat
A1 also exploring VR tech where kids are able to experience all kinds of opportunities and create as in this design project in a VR studio https://t.co/hX0JkE6fzs#satchat
A2: I am struggling with this, I have to take some time out to show them how to take a screen shot, download a chrome extension ect. They do not all know. Plus I am MATH. Math is harder to do these things with :)#satchat
#satchat WAKE UP PARENTS!!All of U &Taxpayers need 2 CALL every BOE dept, school, superintendent Or or who ever it takes to put a stop to this BS. if teachers don't want to teach get them out. SENDING KIDS TO THE STREETS TO BE KILLED IS NOT THEIR JOB. https://t.co/5Iefm49DUO
A2. Google Sites are fantastic and SO easy to create. Ditto for small group student Podcasts using a phone’s standard .mp3 voice recording app, and same for @Flipgrid when recording short reflection videos. #satchat
A2 I think we first have to change our instructional model to one of coaching rather than lecture. Give them the problem, let them research and the provide an answer in the way which they see the problem, choice of platform. The iterative process is the creative process #satchat
A2 Students will dive into the opportunity to create virtual reality experiences! CoSpaces is free. We're piloting an upgrade to their pro account. My students love this. See their VR at https://t.co/v2X9QKy9gV Created by students in grades 3-5! #satchat

A2 Especially on mobile, students can create their own videos, images, collages and web stories easily, focusing on their ideas and stories and not the technology #satchat
#satchat A2: We are finally at the point in edu where content creation is the tech norm. Create parodies of literature in French à la SNL. That's what we're currently doing.
A2: My Ss have created websites based on research topics, and playlists, twitter/facebook feeds, and memory books for character/plot analysis of novels. I love seeing the characters/story through their eyes in their projects. #satchat
A2: our Ss are really getting into #hyper docs and creating them. Also we have our teacher’s assistants making up the clues for @breakoutEDU boxes #timesaver#satchat
A1) Digital tools can enhance traditional lessons by providing more options for students who struggle with traditional learning. At this point though, NOT having some sort of tech component in a lesson would be untraditional #satchat
A2: Students need to know that opportunities to create exist and be encouraged, invited, etc., to create. At the root of this for me, it comes down to the design of our classes and schools and the opportunities we provide learners. #satchat
A2: technology expands their horizons and allows them to demonstrate what they know. It makes learning authentic and prepares them for 21st century skills they will need throughout their life #satchat
A2 We need to start with sounds pedagogy. Devices doesn't mean progress, its how the device is use that allows growth. Provide students agency to show what they know and explore. Engage them in authentic act. connect with community #satchat
A2. I think this shift first has to happen with the teacher. To many of us do what we do because that’s the way we have always done it. Time to take the leap away from teaching and start to focus on learning. #Engagement vs #Empowerment#satchat
A2 I’ve been involved w/ 2 Global Learning activities this year that calls on S’s to collaborate, ideate & offer innovative solutions to real world problems. They use what we’ve been teaching to achieve that. It’s amazing to watch them. #satchat
A2: Start simple w/ @GoogleForEdu slides & docs. Advance 2 forms & @GetKahoot 2 involve others in survey/game. Get community members involved 2 help create more meaningful content that will answer questions, solve probs & share globally w/ sites @YouTube & social media! #satchat
A2: Lesson design should always lead to a product or performance that offers choice, variety, novelty, and solid evidence of student learning. We must step back and let go . . . #satchat
A2. @Screencastify is definitely a tool that allows them to “show what they know”. Students can give their speech, give a presentation, reflect on a lab, go on virtual field trips and more! Then they post a link to their screencast on a padlet for Ss to reflect. #satchat
A2: #Shakespeare in the parking lot instead of the park. Ss act out scenes from #RomeoandJuliet#satchat so much fun for all of us. Great spring activity.

A2b Have students create an eBook! My grade 3-6 community problem solvers wrote a rhyming story, photographed illustrations made from mixed media, and put it all together using Power Point which allowed them to easily record narration. Download at https://t.co/v2X9QKy9gV#satchat
A2. Google Sites are fantastic and SO easy to create. Ditto for small group student Podcasts using a phone’s standard .mp3 voice recording app, and same for @Flipgrid when recording short reflection videos. #satchat
A2: I've been letting the students free play, making videos during play. Now we're shifting to creating learning videos. Ss are explaining their thinking and teaching concepts in their own voice. #satchat
#satchat Love learning and love kids. Then use whatever technology there is to provoke inquiry and learning. Don't get hung up on the latest gee whiz software. Children are compulsive learners. What they do is the only thing that matters in the classroom.

A2 One of our history Ts has asked Ss to show what they know using a tech app that's new to them - no powerpoints, prezzi, or slides. Helping them become more flexible in learning new tech for this quickly changing world. #Satchat
A2 my Ss are always pushing me to find more options for them. When they realized they could bring what they love at home to their classroom learning, and they could create videos, games, graphics, the sky was the limit. #SATCHAT

A2: Great teachers facilitate a students learning by allowing them the opportunity to research, ask probing questions, engage with experts in a field, and make choices in learning. Through this, students become vessels of content, this, showing what they know. #satchat
A2. We have such a tremendous responsibility in causing exposure to content to be the means to a beginning not a means to an end. We also must teach what “creating” looks like versus regurgitating. #satchat

A3: For English, I love the share-abilty of Google Docs. Maybe not as flashy as other digital tools, but they offer options that fit perfectly with the writing process - collaboration, peer editing, teacher feedback, revision, version tracking, commenting. #satchat
Q3: Open-ended creation tools gives students lots of ways to demonstrate their understanding and create a shareable product. What are some of your favorite creation tools? #satchat
A2: Some thoughts that I have not tried for first grade. Have Ss create padlets for sight words, Create illustrations for their writing. Also looking for ideas #satchat@ClassTechTips
#satchat A2: allow class to be student centered. There is always a time for instruction but students should do the work and communicate learning and progress in relevant ways

Absolutely! So often students believe that by them putting in on paper, they are the originator. We have to model, as you said, what true creation and ownership is! #satchat

Trump's book to be published shortly! Title,"Wishful Winking." Not only a rip-off of Carrie Fisher's "Wishful Drinking," it'll cost $59 hardcover, $49 ebook, PLUS SHIPPING/HANDLING/AND FONDLING, & 50% SURCHARGE for WH staff mandatory purchases!)

@TrudeauLisa you need to pick just a few. What grades and subjects do you teach? Also, many curricular products include open ended opps for creation / expression #satchat
#satchat All these apps mentioned in chat. Overwhelmed. Ss have limited tech access, I have limited tech support. How do most Ts learn how to use all of these things efficiently and effectively?
A5: In Math, we’ve been using the National Library of Virtual Manipulatives to help Ss think and reason about mathematical relationships. Bonus: the ability to translate to Spanish to help ELLs. #satchat

A5 Anything that is authentic and shareable. Nothing is more meaningess than Unshared work product. Ss love to share their work and collaborate toward a final "thing" Then talk about that thing and how THEY created it. Tech no Tech, these are the Rich activities. #satchat
A1: I’m encouraging Ts to use technology as a tool to infuse creativity, choice, & collaboration into the classroom. Also, reminding Ts that tech is a tool that should enhance the T&L happening in the classroom. #satchat

A5: Set kids up for tech success, create a learning activities that facilitates shared tech use, allow Ss V&C in the tools they use for the tasks in front of them! #satchat
Yes!! Would love to do this. (Saving this tweet and will circle back in the next few weeks.) Interdisciplinary learning is what kids need to be doing. With other students in other places, that's gold. #Satchat
A4. It looks like w/our S’s what we want to see in our own PLN lives. It’s innocent curiosity, & great noise, & it’s wild-eyed ideas that aren’t so crazy after all. It’s what we get on Twitter for on things like #satchat so we can empower our S’s to be able to touch the world
A4: collaboration is not limited to a specific time and place. Students can collaborate across classes and with others in different time zones and countries. Different perspectives allow for more opportunities for learning. #satchat

I'm just barely getting started. I ordered a few set of MergeCubes so want to try those out a bit more first for "consumption," then step over to the creation side using Metaverse
Looking for a thoughtful example of continuous improvement, professional reflection, and a focus on learning for ALL students check out this thread. Great Twitter collaboration. #satchat

A4: The future workplace demands that we prepare students to be collaborative. We need to teach these competencies intentionally K-12. They need guided practice for listening, speaking and working with others. #satchat
The district wanted us to establish some form of assessment so I created a number of options. The use of G Slides is not mandatory, students CHOOSE how they will share their projects with the world. So on my checklist, “slides” = section or page or whatever.
#satchat
A4 Collaboration is important in all spaces. Collaboration in digital spaces can increase creativity, productivity, problem solving, and teamwork. Digital tools improve the value of our learning space. #satchat
A5: I think my fav tech-rich learning activities differ depending on my group of Ss and where I am in the curriculum because my learning goals drive my decision 4 use of tech... right now it’s @nearpod and @GetKahoot! #SATCHAT
A4: In a room with digital tools, collaboration can be students sitting together to discuss the planning of an infographic or students co-constructing Google Slides with another group of students in a different geographic location. #satchat
One of my favorite strategies. I know teachers who use @voxer to create project groups, so kids can communicate about their work from anywhere. #satchat
I’ve seen many teachers jazzed and energized by the thrill of creating innovative lessons with tech for students. Two-for-One bonus. #satchat#winwin. Kids love it. Teachers love it.
A5. LOVE class escape rooms for end of unit, but they’re somewhat clunky for new content. So I put a social media tech spin on traditional learning centers & created #QRBreakIN. Now student teams compete to explore content using all sorts of apps! #satchathttps://t.co/usU4F6oXfv

I developed the model in the middle of last school year out of need. Building videos is certainly work intensive and I encourage teachers to build their courses over the summer. Once developed, the implementation process is a joy and far less stressful than lectures #satchat
Smart and fair question for the sane. Another example of the Progressive patent of having and implementing only a half an idea. #saturdaymorning#satchat
A5: This is when it’s important to step away f/traditional types of teach/test assessments & look at performance tasks...ones that mirror collaboration/prob solving... #satchat

A2: Ask the students what they want to create and you will find they decide to write persuasive essays and scripts for plays, design posters and slides, podcasts and infographics, conduct research and present to the class. They have amazing ideas! #Satchat
We are a 5-8 building. Our @HamptonBays_MS teachers are always receptive to trying something new, and together. We maintain an "open invitation" mindset, so they know they're always welcome, and all that's expected is an open mind, to learn something new. #satchat

We're counter suing you for fun -- and also because you're lame. "Voters! WikiLeaks took away our right to lie about rigging the primary!" That's some serious one dimensional chess right there.

A5: Reflective activities are typically tech- rich in my classroom. We like using tools such as @Flipgrid and @googledocs to reflect, seek feedback, and develop learning goals #satchat
I use PowerPoint, screencastomatic and @edpuzzle for the video construction and delivery. It is always a challenge securing tech but I have had the luxury of having 20 devices in my room to implement my model #satchat

#satchat A5: Sometimes, students choose to use multiple tech tools to demonstrate learning. I give them choices most always. As long as they show evidence of learning, use tools of choice.
Grade 4, all subjects. Use Google apps all the time. Have used hyper docs . Flipgrid seems popular but not sure it's worth my time to investigate since Ss have limited access to Tech at school. #satchat
A5: Focus on tech tools that allow Ss to create and share. These kids made their own green screen to put together a weather forecast for our area #satchat

A6 Student are creating lemonade stands for our Shark Tank project. They can create a Flipgrid or slideshow or talk live to present their products. They’re getting ideas from Pinterest, YouTube, etc. .... #SatChat
Students are encouraged to choose how they will share their projects with the world. it’s totally up to them! They have created websites, Smore flyers, videos, BlendSpace boards, podcasts, etc.

#motherhood often feels like failure upon failure. Thomas Edison said, “I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.” That’s my new mom mantra! #SaturdayMorning#satchat#StayPositive
A6: Keep exploring the many options available to produce learning, keep learning and growing for and with your Ss, assess and reflect on effectiveness, implement best practices & the possibilities are endless! #satchat
A6: Goal for the spring: recruit willing teacher at my school and facilitate interaction and collaboration between one of our classes and a class somewhere else to discuss and, ideally, create together #satchat

A6 Personally have come across so many useful apps/tools for students in the past 6 months that a "catalogue" of some kind needs creating a) for me to keep track and b) to distribute to my colleagues. Many need encouragement #satchat

I'm off to @TCNJSchoolofEd to present on mentoring and new teacher induction... get ready because we have some collaborating to do!
See everyone back here next week!
#satchat A6: Didn't have this goal until thinking purposefully about tech this morn, but I'd like to occasionally require ss to use a minimum of 2 or 3 tech tools to complete a task. Some ss will just use Word to present learning every time -- boring.

I attempted this concept using a #hyperdoc and Google tools combo. With more consistent application throughout the year, I could see this working as an effective group project model. Just needed more practice and reinforcement (and soft skills development). #satchat
A6: Tech. Goal: WHERE can I enhance my lessons by incorporating new tech. resource 2 allow 4 meaningful learning experience 4 my Ss, connect 2 real world & allow them to be content creators? Answer is EVERYWHERE, it’s a goal 2 never be met #LifeLongLearner#SATCHAT
What you learn from the experience will only make you a better teacher. You will not harm any children in your effort to be creative, innovative while redesigning learning experiences that are learner-centered. It's a win-win! #satchat Just do it!
