...A1: At this point in the year, it's always fun to "look" back and realize how independent they have become as learners.
A1 All have grown as readers and see themselves as readers! Reading is no longer this big mystery.
This year has gone by so fast. I think I blinked and here we are.
I so enjoy their independence!

My 2nd graders have changed a lot as well. They are now in book clubs, thinking and most quite fluent. A lot of growth.

A1 - A lot more independence. In Ontario Kinder, we have a T *and* an ECE + EAs and other paraprofs.

A2: I pay a lot attention to the strategies they use. I listen to their thoughts. I watch what they choose, and their stamina.

You use an ipad to assess students. One assessment is the TRC which covers fluency, oral comp, and written comp.

I always think this is the perfect time to give self-assessment a try. Students are used to you & class systems.
So much easier, I made one in Sheets and made each Ss a copy. Each page has a chart with a graph, All Ss do is enter info.

I am not 1:1 this year, I will be next year with 1st. No online HW as some students don't have tech access.
