Hi Shannon! I also LOVE sour gummy coke bottle candies! Sour, gummy...it's all good! Stoked to have you in #1stchat tonight! I'm tweeting from a hotel in Houston right now!
I'm Theresa, from southern Maryland right now, my favorite candies are Heath bars and Almond Joy, I've been known to bribe third graders for Almond Joy, tbh #1stchat
A1: I have not used it with students yet. I am a Digital Learning Coach, so I mostly work with teacher's, but I have used it with my new teachers as a reflection tool. Allowing them to share one thing they felt went well up to now, and one thing to change. #1stchat
A1 I just learned about Flipgrid, downloaded the guide, and made my first grid to use as a presentation celebration for a PBL for our first social studies lessons, I don't know how to launch it out to third graders #1stchat
Hi! I’m Michelle and I’m a preservice teacher who loves first grade. I am studying at K-State as a Kansas native for the past 11 years. My favorite halloween candy is anything Reeses, but especially the Outrageous. #1stChat#pstpln#edtechksu
I have used #Flipgrid a bit here and there, and just took on my first large-scale collaboration: 300+ kiddos contributed to one grid, including lots of voices from grades K and 1! #1stchat
HI FRIEND!!! Thanks for joining us for #1stchat tonight! You are an incredible educator and share tons of awesome @flipgrid ideas for 1st grade! Thanks for always rocking the #sharingiscaring mindset!!!

A1: We were so lucky to have @jessxbo introduce us to @Flipgrid earlier this year. Since then we’ve worked on sight words inspired by @MrMerrillsClass, responded to reading, and are starting to practice fluency. #1stchat
I have used @Flipgrid to build better relationships with my current and past Ss by using "The Teacher Inbox". They share any accomplishments, ?s, concerns,... It's a moderated topic so I'm the only one who sees their vids. Check it out 👇👇👇 https://t.co/avlCuSFBQL
We have WODB as one of our eight number sense routines throughout our county, so you have students reply with a @flipgrid instead of a whole group discussion? #1stchat

Hello #1stchat I’m Marcia Carrillo from Atwater CA, Induction Coordinator/Mentor to new teachers! Fav candy is sour & chewy-sour patch, lemon heads. Etc🎉❤️💯👻🎃
A1: I love using @Flipgrid for learning challenges!! Ss create tasks for classmates & #gridpals to solve! It takes learning to new levels bc Ss have to check answers & provide specific feedback! Also, they can learn new strategies from each other! #1stchat
As a teacher who loves connecting, this is my biggest reason for loving @Flipgrid I like that we still see and hear those connections that can't connect with timezone issues. #1stchat
Sharon 3-5 Instructional Coach. I like most candy with the exception of gummy like candy or twizzlers.. I'm here to learn. I love flipgrid and what it has to offer students. #1stchat
This gives me an idea to use it with subitizing. I always wish I had more time to work on it and this would be a quick way to hear from all students instead of just a few! 💡 #1stchat

Miss you & your AMAZING energy!! Need a reunion ASAP!! Putting a shameless plug in for a Florida #FlipgridBusTour!! Come on, @jessxbo!! Let’s make it happen! 💚
Absolutely! I believe that #K2CanToo. I was a 1:1 iOS T in 1st Grade for many years. I taught my students workflows and expectations and they always rocked it when using technology to share and showcase their learning! #1stchat
The cool thing about Flipgrid is there a very specific colors/buttons that you could use as a visual prompt when telling students what buttons to push to add their recording... #1stchat
Ss use @Flipgrid to share writing/give feedback, share responses to 📚, participate in #thinkingroutines X the curr. & more. My ❤️ is our Facts & How-To’s open topic: Ss 🎥 outside of 🏫 to teach others abt themselves, which has strengthened our classroom community ❤️🙌🏼 #1stchat
2) I have used flipgrid with students in literacy, math and science. As a coach, I have introduced it to the teachers I work with as a way for students to show what they know as an alternative to pen and paper. #1stchat
A3: I have read about app smash but have yet to implement🤣thinking @DoInkTweets green screen & @Flipgrid have Ss use backgrounds related to their research topic #sharks#1stchat

A4: I encourage mine to create a script of what they would like to say so that if they get nervous, they can use it as a reminder. BONUS: it gets them writing!! #1stchat
A4: There are great resources for tips. How to position the camera. Use the notepad to type what they want to say so they aren't looking away. Expectations about how much time they spend adding things. #1stchat

One of the issues I have in my class is our devices are too old. So when we use it, it is done on my laptop. I look forward to a day when I have up to date devices to use. #1stchat
A4: I encourage my Ss to write out what they’d like to share when responding so they have it as a reference!! We 💙 the new edit tools. It has been so helpful for my first graders since they are still working on their spreading skills! #1stchat

I ALWAYS taught my Ss the workflow of an app & let them push all the buttons. Playing to learn allowed them some structured exploration time to learn how to become independent in a workflow...then they had few problems using the app to share their learning! #K2CanToo
4) Start small. Simple questions that don't take long to answer. Allow shy students to learn in a quiet space. Ask for volunteers to share and look for the positive in their recordings and just keep using it. Students will look forward to using it! #1stchat
Did you know that @flipgrid has a monthly newsletter blog post with all the latest info and great tips for teachers? #1stchat
Check it out at: https://t.co/lkV81hz6Pv
AWESOME! Yes! Let them play to learn! An Intro grid or something that allows them to explore as an entry point is great! We did a LOT of info Grids—- https://t.co/CTmcCy8MXg shows some of my silly examples! #1stchat
A5 Student led conferences are a great time to get parents on board with flipgrid. Or Open House, have parents record their Hope's for their child for the school year. #1stchat
A4: allow S choice & be prepared for someone to NOT want to video their own face- options-partners, video the paper, image, an item, build Ss self-image, empower them #1stchat
I used it for Back to School Night. They posted a video with their child. Amazing to see the smile on the Ps when they are included in their child's assignments.#1stchat
5) I set up recording spots throughout our school during a One Book One School Activity Night with families. Each spot had a different question or way for families to respond using flipgrid. #1stchat
A5 Parents could provide feedback regarding homework that their child had trouble with and teacher could offer suggestions for how they could best help child. #1stchat
A5: “Are You Smarter Than a 1st Grader?!” Have Ss create questions based on the current content you are learning. Ps can go on @Flipgrid to respond with their answers! A fun way to Ss to engage their Ps in the learning & to show what they know! #1stchat
Oh this is an all the feels thing too—- families, community, #StudentVoice PARENT VOICE...it’s so incredible to see all the ways that learning happens beyond 4 walls of a classroom! #1stchat
A5; I’m thinking of asking Ss for these ideas; but I’m thinking interview a family/adult/coach etc, member——interview a business & help create an advertisement #1stchat

Just heard of a school reaching out to their entire community to crowdsource #CareerDay videos via @Flipgrid. Not all parents have an hour to come present, but it’s likely many can find a few minutes to share on a Flipgrid for a Career Day Topic! #1stchat

I love everything about it! How the topic info can be read to Ss. You can use the topic info for a lesson on verbs, nouns, adjectives, etc, and the immersive reader option shows all of that! #1stchat
YES!!! The picture dictionary is one of my favorite features in the Immersive Reader! #1stchat I LOVE how the Topic Description can be read aloud to Ss too!!! #FlipgridFever
I think the immersive reader gets Flipgrid one step closer to reaching ALL learners. Many ESL, LD, ELL students will gain more autonomy through this addition. #1stchat
