#NVedchat is dedicated to increasing communication and collaboration of education related topics in the State of Nevada. Originally, created by Mr. Snehal Bhakta.
A1: The approach to lesson planning that assures all Ss can actively participate in the learning activities at or slightly higher then their current abilities. With Ss controling as much of the decision making as possible. Thinking DDMs.

Steve in NW Indiana (Chicago-ish). Joining late after a quick milk run. Use to teach in Ralphie's hometown, so @LCHS_Bio is hitting me right where I live. #nvedchat
A1: numerous types of materials, instruction styles, assessment styles and learning styles meeting in one room for the same purpose: to learn at a higher level of thinking #Nvedchat
R1: different isn’t always equal instruction due to the needs of our Ss. If they are EL or special needs Ss, The instruction will look different than in a high ability class. #NVedchat
A1: A system of learning where individual Ss are given choices that inspire them and allow them to address their weaknesses through passion. I also think it is invaluable for preparing students for life after school, which rarely has the same level of guidance! #nvedchat
A1: An ideal goal for instruction where every student is recognized as an individual and their individual assets and needs are taken into account every moment of every day. #nvedchat
R2: I've always taught students who struggle with math, so I look at any opportunity for them to show me their understanding as a good thing. It's on me to provide them the pathways to do so. #nvedchat
A2: there is no one size fits all way to teach or learn. We all comprehend/process differently & all have strengths/weaknesses when it come to showcasing what we know. #NVedchat
Rolling up w/ Q3: How do you or can you use blended learning techniques to facilitate differentiating content & assessment in your classroom? #NVedchat
A2: Yes. As previously mentioned, I believe there is no way to fully prepare students for life without at least a degree of differentiation. Life goes from (in some cases) fully planned to fully choice-driven. How can we expect them to be ready to make those choices? #nvedchat
Ooo, self-monitoring is a good catch. My Diff Instructor trainer said she found her students would challenge themselves more when they had a choice of difficulty level. #nvedchat
A3: allows for reteaching allows for further exploration allows for time f2f with students allows for learning opportunities beyond what T can provide #nvedchat
R3: I consider PBS as a form of blended learning. Having multiple outcomes to a given task provides true differentiation of learning and differentiated outcomes. #NVedchat
R3: The tools in Desmos Activities are awesome in this regard - depending on how teh Q is phrased, students can respond to a prompt/question/graph in words, by sketching, by moving/dragging points on a graph. #nvedchat
R3: Give a task in #PBS, let Ss utilize tech to develop the outcome (video creation, research, etc) and creation of tasks in LMS like @CanvasLMS provides opportunities for ALL Ss to learn and be successful. #NVedchat
It's starting to gain a foothold in my department as well. So cool that Ts can custom-make activities for their Ss/curriculum in Activity Builder. #nvedchat
A3 I always offer multiple options for assignments I find it harder for assessments. In Medical class I do practical assessments that my kinesthetic kids do well on, multiple choice responses, scenario responses, hopefully I offer enough that they all do well. #NVedchat
R4: learning should be organized chaos. Ss should have a little bit of guidance and an opportunity to be creative. OH, a good chance to plug my takeover next week of #NVedchat. We will discuss “The 4Cs of Education”
Heard a HS teacher say the other day that he purposely includes boring lectures because students need to be prepared for college profs that could care less about engagement. Students should be comfortable learning in a variety of ways, "sit n git" included #nvedchat
A4 keeping your sanity while teaching is key, I use technology stations, #ipaded so that students are working so I can walk around and get some one on one #Nvedchat
Happy holidays #nvedchat peeps! It's not too late to make sure your Ss have a voice in the #NetNeutrality debate and let the @FCC know their thoughts. Check out this FREE #thinkLaw lesson on our #TPT store!
I make assignments and dates when we move onto other tasks. Doesn’t mean that they stop working; we are just going to do more. Learning should take place from day 1 to 180 and if takes till 180 to get stuff done, so be it. #NVedchat
