A1: It is a great formation for mismatches, especially with how the D will play their OLB. Will they put him on the line over the TE? Will the even front move the DE to a 7? I like running IZ weak with RPO to the TE trips side #TXHSFBCHAT
Stretch, Counter Trey, Sail😳, & something my mentor showed me was 41 Fox☺️: fake the now screen, #2 attacks the CB still, but then releases up field like a wheel.
#TXHSFBCHAT
I like an Under Front & Solo cov vs Trey. I know going into a game if the TE is a pass threat or not (most aren't). Solo allows me to get a 3/2 over the 2 speed & a MOF player vs a b/s Post. The DS can become a dbl alley player as well. Good against Spd Opt
#txhsfbchat | #ArtofX
... I'm also good to the b/s against the run because I have a natural wall in the 5 & 3t. The 5 can widen out too to inhibit getting reached. The Will can be in a 30 or "Zero" depending on what the O's tendencies are.

Any time I get a 3x1 set I want to be in an Under. This allows my Mike to be closer to his cover down, & in the case of a bunch set, my 5t can play "heavy" allowing the Mike to fit outside. I like to lev the Sam outside the point w/ Saf & CB working it out. (1/2) #txhsfbchat
(2/2) The b/s Saf can poach anything that crosses or can the CB help b/s. Like the Trey set earlier, a Poach cov can help because most O's aren't going to run 3 verts, but will utilize crossing routes. The b/s Saf is essentially the trash man & can insert vs run. #txhsfbchat
Q3: How do you use this formation to define how the defense plays?
Defense, how do you use the balance of the formation against the offense? #TXHSFBCHAT
A2: To counter overload, I like to run the GA counter to the F. Most teams expect us to run toss when we're in bunch, so the counter is a nice complement #TXHSFBCHAT
Bunch Rt, one of my favorites. I like to run the QB sweep & use the Pin & Pull concept. I feel like no matter what you give me I will always have a extra hat in this formation. I like the Drive concept out this formation causes a lot of confusion & also 97 switch
#TXHSFBCHAT
Quarters rules. He's relating to #3 & will push looking for someone coming in. The RB is technically #2 wk & the Will is reading him. This helps distribute Quads sets like the one illustrated in the diagram. #txhsfbchat
A1: Zone/ Power strong. Slant/ bubble or walk off slant/ corner tag strong. Backside choice depending on leverage. Defense adjusts by running 2 mini coverage or rolls SS down to man free. #txhsfbchat
A3: Most people will say the formation will force the D to balance and play their true gap/tech. I think it forces them to show who/what they call the strength to, allowing for more formation manipulation #TXHSFBCHAT
Deuce, it’s only 2( 4-4 box or 5-3 box) ways you can line up to this formation. I like to run pretty much everything out of this formation. Stretch, Power, & Counter Trey will give defenses a headache.

Q3: How do you use this formation to define how the defense plays?
Defense, how do you use the balance of the formation against the offense? #TXHSFBCHAT
Love an Under Front to Ace. It spreads the anchor points (DL). You can play it 2 ways. Run heavy = Solid (attach the Sam or 50/50 = Invert. In both diagrams, the b/s Saf is inverting, or "sinking," down on the TE & will take him if he goes out... (1/2) #txhsfbchat
(2/2) If the b/s TE goes vert, the Saf will spin-n-pin & carrying him. In Solid, Sam beats up the TE vs pass & green-dogs. The f/s Saf will carry any vert by the TE. In loose, the Sam walls the outside for out RPOs.

A2: shotgun same side quick pitch. Down to crack from WR. OL pulls uncovered PS. Or F slide motion Zone weak, F pop route. Or PA WK boot flood Y sail #TXHSFBCHAT
I have a 5t & a 3t. The Mike & Will can be late (Will is relating to the RB anyway). The Mike knows the Saf will cap the Vert of the TE allowing him to be aggressive & make sure it's a run or pass. Solo Saf can read out once ball is handed off. I still have numbers. #txhsfbchat
Q4: What plays to the TE side do you like to use out of this formation?
Defense, how do you account for a team who uses the TE a lot in this set? #TXHSFBCHAT
It's better than "Stressing" the Mike & having him carry the TE vertically. To the wk side, the DE has the QB, so I'm funneling the run to both my LBs. The 5t has the Nose to the field & is a natural spill player. An Under allows the Mike to vacate the box quicker. #txhsfbchat
I totally get that. From an offensive point of view, knowing how we can manipulate the way the D lines up is as important to an offense as the D being able to take away a high tendency threat. All part of the chess match #TXHSFBCHAT
Trio Lt, I like to give a little Eye-Candy when using this formation. I still want to run Power, Stretch, Counter Trey, & also the Bucksweep to the TE side. Screen Game will be used a lot in the formation also.
#TXHSFBCHAT
Q4: What plays to the TE side do you like to use out of this formation?
Defense, how do you account for a team who uses the TE a lot in this set? #TXHSFBCHAT
Vs a Pistol nub, I want numbers wk. I can play a 9 or a put him in a 6 depending on tendency & my b/s CB. Again, I like an Under Front to allow the Mike to vacate vs the pass. Staying 2-high gives me numbers wk. I can even play w/ Will's alignment (zero/30) #txhsfbchat
A4: I like to run boot passes pack to the TE side. Either send the TE to the flat, or motion the 3 wr across and send him to the flat, and TE on a deep out or flag route #TXHSFBCHAT
Defensively, treat it as 2x2 with the flanker walked over. Travel the corner with him and "X out" the trips #1 from the count (treat original #2 like new #1). No bump or shift from the LB's. Keeps primary run guys in the fit and primary pass guys in the distribution. #TXHSFBCHAT
Q4: What plays to the TE side do you like to use out of this formation?
Defense, how do you account for a team who uses the TE a lot in this set? #TXHSFBCHAT
I'm freeing the Mike to be a "free" player. Read your anchor point & react. The safety will handle the vert of a TE. It gives him more time to fit the run. The 5t & 3t away builds a natural wall for the safety to be late. #txhsfbchat
A1: if I'm running this, I'm trying to keep the ball in 1's hands with q power or dart, or hitting a quick screen. Likely seeing tight 5 and a 1 on WS with a LB in the hole. I like my chances. Like to throw Rub out of this as well with the same dart/pwr action. #TXHSFBCHAT
I'd run Cloud (2-Read) over that stack. I have a trapping CB, so it negates the screen. I teach my Ni to not move & react to the ball. He's apexed & knows w/ an Under Front, it's going to spill - stay outside. #txhsfbchat
It turns into 2-back Pro. Regualar Quarters. B/s safety sinks/inverts. I still have a 5t wide to set the edge. Look at motion where it is when the ball is snapped. Not a lot of communication. #txhsfbchat
By reducing the set, an O can create soft edges if the D backs up their CBs. If they knife the stacks then you have one less in coverage. Sometimes guys will widen out the overhangs & that gives angles for inside runs. #txhsfbchat
You can definitely beat a safety out of the break if the D keeps those safeties tucked inside too much. Too wide and you now have the Post open. Fine line... #txhsfbchat
I can still run everything out of this formation except my bubble screens because we are close. I gave people some problems when I ran 92 mesh and the Drive out of this formation. I put the LBs in a bad situation.
#TXHSFBCHAT
#TXHSFBCHAT in our 3-4 olb attacks point man to disrupt, CB is 5x5 from outside man for 1st outside break and S is 8-10 to take 1st vertical. OLB reads tackle, pass-he goes hook to curl, run-he attacks hips of near back. BS S can help with run or pass
A2: we hit flood out of this a lot late in the season. Before that we were wrapping the T and getting outside. Ran power away from the bunch a good amount with both the T and F. Usually saw 5's and 3's. If we saw WS safety rolling up we'd try to hit the X off power. #TXHSFBCHAT
