    I so appreciate @NASWhidbeyIslan veterans who volunteer in our schools @OakHarborPS. Last year, navy soldiers would play football with kids during Friday recess. Those small moments really make a difference. Thanks for volunteering to serve. #LeadLAP A1

    A1: This is Marine Cpl. Ron Payne Jr. who passed away in 2004 after stepping into the line of fire to help a fellow marine who was being shot at. He gave up his life to save a friend! True American Hero! #LeadLAP

    A1 So typical of vets, my Uncle Hy rarely talked about his service in WWII, found out he was in N. Africa, Italy, D-Day and Battle of the Bulge. To me he was living history. Never became famous, but he was famous to me. #LeadLAP

    We require community service for our students. We don’t just give that lipservice. We want to get out in the community and help those in need. But we model it in our building as well. None of us wait for a custodian if something needs mopping up or clean #leadlap

    A4c: I also bring in my barista friend who does one morning in my room with a coffee/hot chocolate bar for staff. I email a menu ahead of time, they order, my Ss deliver. It's a yummy way to say THANKS to my colleagues. #LeadLAP
