Q1: One method of informal research is conferences. What has been a recent conference you have attended and what were your biggest takeaways? #ProDriven
I just went to the FAEA conference for art educators and I think the biggest take away, regardless of the conference, is making connections with others, sharing stories, asking questions...what we want our students to do on a daily basis essentially #ProDriven

Q2: Another method of informal research is EdCamps. What EdCamps have you attended? What was the experience like? What were your biggest takeaways? #ProDriven
Q2: We had an ed camp for the 1st time during an all day PD. Staff chose the topics and they loved it! Will definitely continue the practice. #prodriven
A2: I ADORE edcamps - the experience is exciting, energizing, and absolutely magnetic!! I love the anticipation of what the sessions will be, what the facilitators will share, and the freedom to choose whatever learning best fits you for the day! #ProDriven
A2: I have never been to an #edcamp but have attended PD sessions that used the #edcamp format so we could direct our own learning. I love the format because I end up spending half the time sharing about a topic near/dear to me and the other half is learning new stuff! #ProDriven
A2: I ADORE edcamps - the experience is exciting, energizing, and absolutely magnetic!! I love the anticipation of what the sessions will be, what the facilitators will share, and the freedom to choose whatever learning best fits you for the day! #ProDriven
Q3: Another method of research are blogs and podcasts. What are some of the ones you follow and what have been the biggest ah-has and takeaways? #ProDriven
There are #edcamps all over the place...and if there isn’t one in your neck of the woods than you can organize one yourself. Lots of peeps on Twitter who can act as resources - @thenerdyteacher@mrgfactoftheday for example #ProDriven
A1: #Flipgrid conference was amazing! It was truly a group of some of the best educators I've connected with in awhile! So many fresh ideas! #prodriven
A3: I get a lot of great takeaways from the TED Radio Hour podcast, Teachers on Fire, and some others. I also like the @cultofpedagogy podcast and blog. #ProDriven
Q3: Another method of research are blogs and podcasts. What are some of the ones you follow and what have been the biggest ah-has and takeaways? #ProDriven
A2: Tough call... virtual PD is nice because I don't have to worry about travel expenses and I can do at my own pace. HOWEVER face to face I'm way more engaged/focused and I love making connections with people. #prodriven
The podcasts on @voicEdcanada are not “big time” but are gold nuggets with accessible people behind them. Great way to build #pln and learn. #prodriven

A3. I don’t follow any blog specificallybut rather a few based on the topics. If a title or topic catches my interest I end up reading that. I love that blogs give varying views and angles that I may not have seen before #ProDriven
A3: My favorite blog is @vrkimmel’s - you can find it at https://t.co/KwXM4seCUz - her articles are full of research based, authentic support for teachers as they work to help their students become better readers, writers, and thinkers! #ProDriven
A4: I really like the Edugains site for literacy/numeracy but really it’s the people for me. If I need direction in Numeracy I could connect with several people that I know can lead me in the right direction - @DL_Buts@MrSoclassroom@MathletePearce@MatthewOldridge#ProDriven

A4: Google! If I don’t know somethings go there first, a word, the meaning of an idiom, etc. I also enjoy just chatting with colleagues and members of this #PLN on the twittersphere #ProDriven
Q5: We need to go beyond just Research and actually Integrate these takeaways in a way that is meaningful for students. Give examples of how you have gone head first into the Integration Phase. #ProDriven
A4: I feel like online courses are becoming more popular. I have ventured into these for help on #PBL and #coding And I'm talking the free or cheap ones! #prodriven
A5. This takes some time! For my students it usually means a task analysis to be able to accurately state where they are, and then implement the first step in the process. #ProDriven
Think of the Integrate Phase as taking that first step actually UP the mountain, rather than just pursuing down at the base in the Research Phase. #ProDriven
A5: I look at the research and what I’m doing with the students and then find an entry point. If it works - great. If it doesn’t than I get an idea where I could go next. Makes sense? #ProDriven
Q5: I am meeting with all staff as they are finishing their research stage. They are starting or will be starting to implement strategies with students. I am collaborating with their efforts. #prodriven
A5: this happens daily in the art room where what was taught and shown is then used to create something new. For me the arts are a supreme way of demonstrating integration of what’s been researched into what’s been synthesized into knowledge #ProDriven
A6: When integrating Flipped Learning, I remember my straight A Ss struggling the most. At first I was baffled by this, but learned that I was no longer giving info for them to regurgitate. So I knew it was working. #ProDriven
5/6 grade teachers are working on mindfulness using Headspace.
K is working on developing more of a Daily Five framework.
Govt class is developing critical questioning skills. #prodriven
It’s a lot of try try again...like riding a bike...gotta keep getting back on it until it feels right. So there’s a lot of fails but with that a lot of reflection! And hence growth and learning #ProDriven

Number Talks - provide Ss with opportunities to gain conceptual understanding/strategies that can be applied to Math problems encountered during Numeracy instruction. 1/2 #ProDriven
Yep, small adjustments. I like to ask educators BEFORE going into that Integration Phase, “So what will you look for that tells you it’s working?” This usually helps plan more accordingly in order to reduce the cycles. #ProDriven
Q7: If you entered the Reflection Phase, how did you share what you were doing with those in your building? What was the response from your colleagues? #ProDriven
I need to fit them into the day and make them a routine, not an event so I started doing them first thing every morning so I would get things started. Realized that it worked better with my Ss to do them at the start of our Math block. It primes them 👍 2/2 #ProDriven
A7. I am usually too much for my building. I throw a lot of nets, and will catch one or two, here or there. Maybe I need to be more selective with my net? #ProDriven
A7: I have found that when we create a culture of sharing and listening to each other in our buildings, we recognize each other’s journeys, and in turn, intrinsic motivation is ignited even more. No different than student-learners. #ProDriven
Q7: If you entered the Reflection Phase, how did you share what you were doing with those in your building? What was the response from your colleagues? #ProDriven
Q8: If you have entered the Sharing Phase, how have you shared your learning OUTSIDE your building? Conference? EdCamp? Blog? What was the experience like for you? #ProDriven
a8 I have a blog about inquiry-based learning, STEM, & homework practices and it's fun to see where all it goes #prodriven I got to share my research at NCTM in DC last May. My fav is when someone tells me it's helpful. #prodriven
That’s great to know, b/c that’s the whole reason why I maintain that page. We MUST share our journeys so it may inspire others -> https://t.co/ctiNhi4OZv#ProDriven
Right now, I am on a learning journey as a parent to better understand Executive Functioning so I may help my 6yr-old better. I’d say I’m in the Research Phase yet as I continue to the book Smart but Scattered. #ProDriven
A9. I am currently working on learning how to attend a virtual PD, how to write a bi-monthly articles, how to keep myself and staff on task during stressful times, etc. #ProDriven
a9 I'm studying the effects of inquiry learning qualitatively & quantitatively in HS math. I'm learning more about effect sizes. Interesting stuff. #prodriven
How long do you feel you have been in the integration. I ask because that is often the Phase where educators my spend the majority of their learning journey. #ProDriven
