    A1: Educating families about the importance of healthy food and providing healthy options during school and after school events. Partnering with local farms and community groups have helped improve this for us. #MEMSPAchat

    Yes! These are great ideas. We have also seen "weekend backpack" programs, like from Marquette Alger RESA in the Upper Peninsula. Sending home nutritious food to kids eat well outside of school as well. #MEMSPAchat

    #memspachat A2: We run a summer feeding program at several schools. This provides free breakfast and/or lunch to all who show up who are 18 or younger.

    #TeamOwen opened a clothing closet and community food bank in February for anyone living in our school district. This is headed by Jessica Moore one of our teachers and @RobersonJerome one of our school social workers. It is a lot of hard work, but a labor of love. #MEMSPAchat

    A2) Our community Social Services plays an integral role in feeding families. We are very fortunate to have them an instrumental partner. We also have a Hornets helping Hornets for students in need of general anything. #MEMSPAchat

    A2: Did you know that Double Up Food Bucks, now operating in 64 counties, both rural and urban? 95 percent of Michigan residents now live in a county with Double Up sites. #MEMSPAchat

    A3: Brain breaks, more recess, PE teachers are now realizing the importance of teaching students about their personal best and "fit bit" technology is helping with that two. It is fun for students to see if they can beat the principal's steps! #MEMSPAchat

    A3) Our playground was large and we partnered with DTE and a local asphalt company to put in a quarter mile track...everyday I would walk a mile with each grade level...best shape ever...miss the track! We kept track and gave out charms...Kids loved it! #MEMSPAchat

    In Clarkston, there are number of initiatives. The most recent one is free health clinics in two lower income elementaries and the middle school. They are open twice a week; parents submit initial paperwork and then just send a note when a child needs to be seen. A6. #MEMSPAchat

    A7: Today Berrien County started this collaboration I went to a PD called: Unveiling Invisible Injuries: Building a Trauma-Informed Court and Community. There were Medical, Education, and Legal/Court professionals. Very powerful. Possibilities are endless. #MEMSPAchat
