Louie from Lancaster, PA. Moving to 5th Grade next year. Excited for #flipgridfever tonight! Heading out to #ISTE18 starting tomorrow. Making a roadtrip of it!
A2 I love the idea of a different Grid for each month. You can focus on curriculum units in subject areas. At the end look back at the growth! #FlipgridFever
A1: First was creating a @breakoutEDU for my classes was pretty awesome. Third was going #greenscreen So why I'm trying to get my @Flipgrid recording for our needed mics. We have the Green Screen ready to go. #flipgridfever
A1. This year, I used the 2nd+ grids for additional classes, but also one for teacher PD, another for School Wide Morning Announcements. #flipgridfever
Hey #FlipgridFever folks. It's Sean from BC, Canada. Excited for the @Flipgrid FREE announcement and coaxed to come here by a @bmilla84 tweet. What's up, people!
A1 I currently have a Technology Integration Resources Grid, but now I'm thinking about adding a "Help line" grid for teachers to leave video voicemail. #FlipgridFever
A1: I have one main grid I use each year for my class. Then I have some used for book groups, novel studies, parent HW assignments, and individual student reading/fluency grids. #flipgridfever
A1 Since I teach multiple classes, Iβm excited to have separate grids for each class! I used to just create different topics in my one grid. I am already feeling more organized!!! #FlipgridFever
I just created a grid to use when school starts back up. It's a place for students to explain why the received a "brag tag" to their parents. Once they record, I'll send the private video link for parents to hear their kids brag on themselves. #FlipgridFever
A1. I'm going to an international conference in July (#SWSD2018), & about to set up a grid for participants to introduce themselves and pitch their sessions! #flipgridfever
A1: I always thought it was beneficial (albeit pretty basic) to have a Grid for each class period, or even subject. That's the way I used the Grids and it worked quite well. #flipgridfever
A1: With multiple grids you can create spaces for other learning communicates (PLN, parent communications, video library for learning, virtual suggestion box for school/ classroom, celebrations, etc.) #FlipgridFever
A1: @FriendsinFourth#FlipGridFever Iβve used other grids for collaborating with other classes, like #GridPals, or with other classrooms in my district! I just created a new grid for the #MSC2018 π
A1: Teacher introductions for the new school year. Have every teacher record a brief welcome and post it on the school site/Facebook/Twitter for new and old students to get to know them before school starts #FlipgridFever#newschoolyear
A1: I created separate grids for each of my music Ss to use as digital portfolios! Easy to use, Ss loved it, and easy to share with parents! #FlipgridFever
A1: We did a Staff Book Tasting at the end of this school year where Ts had voice in choice in which book they wanted to read and study next year! Could use different grids for each book study group! #flipgridfever
A1- I've used the additional grids to separate out assignments, end of year grid with reflections, thank yous, and teacher goodbyes and shoutouts #FlipgridFever
The second Grid I ever created on @Flipgrid (which was the second Grid EVER created on Flipgrid π) was for my mom and I would record videos of my then baby daughter Kyra just for her πΆ π #FlipgridFever
A1: I have one grid for general posts for my classroom for various activities. My other four grids are for my Choose Your Own Adventure series..one focused on Literature, Language, Informational, and Social Studies. Helps me organize and find responses easily! #FlipgridFever
A1: I'm still working on that. I need to "clean up" all of my grids. Too many grids leave my creativity low. It's on my to-do list next week!
#FlipgridFever
A1: At the beginning of next year, Iβm going to set up a grade-level grid where students can share ideas/concepts/questions for the entire grade to see, not just limit it to one class period. #FlipgridFever
I think @KyleHamstra's #GridPlans is an absolutely GENIUS idea! I plan to use this idea next school year (if and when I'm ever out!) #FlipgridFeverπ₯
A1: Each kid could have their own grid. Record themselves each 4 weeks reading or discussing a topic and then you can actually watch learning #flipgridfever
a1. we use @flipgrid to aid transition to our school. Pupils can post videos asking questions about school life or talking about worries or concerns and our amazing peer support pupils answer them! Pupils supporting pupils! #FlipgridFever
A1: Pair up your class with a younger or older class at the same site and allow them to read books to their buddies (when finished with an assign. early) and reply to each other to share opinions and push comprehension. #FlipgridFever
Yes! I was going to do this, except I'm switching schools/districts... I did have my 8th graders introduce themselves to their high school teachers via Flipgrid. The teachers were excited to get these! #flipgridfever
A1: Besides my main class grids, we use other grids for suggestions in content. Like what my student would like to know or are interested about in our next unit. #flipgridfever
A1) Don't think that I have mastered my first grid π so there is some work to be done there. But with unlimited grids there's room for ProD, Global Collaboration, multiple Classroom topics. Pretty much anything!! #flipgridfever
Iβm thinking of having my colleagues each record a review of their favorite teaching and learning book to help my teacher candidates choose a book for their book review and presentation project #flipgridfever
A1 Since I teach multiple classes, Iβm excited to have separate grids for each class! I used to just create different topics in my one grid. I am already feeling more organized!!! #FlipgridFever
A1: Letting your students share more than just simple response to questions. Have them share their goals and what they want to be the change of. #FlipgridFeverπ₯ goals
A1~ Choral reading of stories for fluency practice and poetry readings for this as well π ...great conversation skills as they prepare, review& share their responses ... great oral language skill dev #FlipgridFever
A1: Iβve used grids to answer a survey question from @RHansen4thGrade, have students write and solve story problems and keep connected over breaks! #FlipgridFever
A1: At the beginning of next year, Iβm going to set up a grade-level grid where students can share ideas/concepts/questions for the entire grade to see, not just limit it to one class period. Itβs all about student voice!! #FlipgridFever
The second Grid I ever created on @Flipgrid (which was the second Grid EVER created on Flipgrid π) was for my mom and I would record videos of my then baby daughter Kyra just for her πΆ π #FlipgridFever
A1: Pair up your class with a younger or older class at the same site and allow them to read books to their buddies (when finished with an assign. early) and reply to each other to share opinions and push comprehension. #FlipgridFever
A1: I am looking forward to creating multiple grids that have intended uses for different groups. I can use it for Pd sessions that I lead, staff meetings, classroom instruction, etc. #FlipgridFever
Or, I just thought of this.....what about a Grid for each book and have Ts respond to question prompts along the way? Call it a @Flipgrid Book Study if you will!!! #FlipgridFever
A1: We did a Staff Book Tasting at the end of this school year where Ts had voice in choice in which book they wanted to read and study next year! Could use different grids for each book study group! #flipgridfever
a1. we use @flipgrid to aid transition to our school. Pupils can post videos asking questions about school life or talking about worries or concerns and our amazing peer support pupils answer them! Pupils supporting pupils! #FlipgridFever
A1: As a teacher, I have used @flipgrid for explaining a creation, reading a piece and showing their mood, and revisiting one from the year before to have former Ss teach present Ss. The possibilities are endless. #flipgridfever
A1: Iβve created separate grids for each of our #globalcollaboration connections! It grid is for our specific #gridpals & we can organize different topics for Ss to connect on throughout the year within each grid! #FlipgridFever
A1: I set up a new grid yesterday to use at our district's first ever tech conference. So excited to introduce the #FlipgridFever to all of our @gccisd staff at #techXpedition
A1: A private grid for self-reflection grid. Topics: months of the school year, ideas for next year, professional development reflections, etc. It is easier for me to speak these things than to write them! #flipgridfever
goal setting is a great idea! And by using @Flipgrid it will allow students to go back and reflect on their goals! Can't run from a video #FlipgridFeverπ₯ #FlipgridGoalsπ₯
A1: Using multiple grids allows for organization and the ability to have different copilots on grids if necessary. I like that I can have a grid for extra help, book studies, math brain teasers all separate #FlipgridFever
a1. using @Flipgrid to help build confidence for 'big mark' exam questions. questions that begin with explain or discuss - a real confidence builder to help them see they really know the answers #FlipgridFever
Last year, I had Ts share their early release day club descriptions, downloaded them, and created one movie to share w/S. Ss had a much better idea of which club they wanted to join #FlipgridFever
A1: At beg. of school year, have kids ask 5? to their new teacher and reveal 5 facts about themselves that maybe most people don't know. Safe and private space to get to know your Ss and reply personally. #FlipgridFever
I havenβt used Flipgrid but am excited to get started!!! I think I may use my 1st grid to video updates throughout the summer & school year for my 6th grade homeroom class. Hoping to make the transition to middle school easier! π€#FlipgridFever
A1: In my new job title, I could see me using @flipgrid for tech support and group brainstorming of ideas where you have to explain yourself a bit. #flipgridfever
A1: Like others have mentioned, I usually make a different grid for different assignments. Ex: weekly pronunciation hwk, book summaries, etc.
#FlipgridFever
This is actually a GREAT idea! I should do a grid of my own. For me. Like an online journal of sorts. For SWAT reflection. Grad school reflection. I LOVE IT! #FlipGridFever
A1. Pre-assessment: I think _____ means _____. Formative Assessment: WOW! Here's what I have learned so far. Post Assessment: I used to think _____ meant _____ but now I know it means ____!!!!
Flippin' REFLECTION with Flipgrid. #FlipgridFever
A1: I π having grids for everything! School grid, my program, Genius Hour, STEM projects documenting design process, #MakersGonnaMake, book discussions, Techsperts, collabs w/other classes, the list goes on & on! #FlipgridFever
#FlipgridFever Hi! Sorry I'm a bit late. I've been waiting all day for this chat and then I lost track of time! I am Gwena, High School Spanish teacher from Indiana -- and I love Flipgrid!!!
A1: As a teacher, I have used @flipgrid for explaining a creation, reading a piece and showing their mood, and revisiting one from the year before to have former Ss teach present Ss. The possibilities are endless. #flipgridfever
As you know August 1st is #FLipgridLive be on the lookout for more info on the 2nd annual #GLobalbash. Start making plans to create a local viewing party if you cant attend live @Flipgrid HQ in Minn. DM for more details. #FlipgridFever
A1 I use one grid for each of my ELL classes. I then have one for shared topics. I also have one for teacher introductions to community. Just a few examples. #FlipgridFever
#FlipgridFever
I am giving each student a grid this year to lost weekly reflections on their goals. This way they have time and space to reflect on their accomplishments or what they need to focus on. They also can see how much they've grown throughout the year.
A2: Done this regularly. Change to to teach marketing by doing an elevator pitch. Don't have to take finals, give final projects on @Flipgrid instead. 30 second reply to a bell ringer. Go! #FlipgridFever
A1: I was thinking of using another grid as collaborating with other classrooms , via gridpals. I would love to collaborate with other classrooms and allow the Ss to be globally connected. That would be inspiring for them and for me as well! #FlipgridFever#StudentVoice
Judging by this picture, we'll soon be able to go to the beach, get a haircut, and set fidget spinners on fire in the next #FlipgridFever update.... #DidIGetTheCluesRight#maybenot
A2: I think that having acess to the full @flipgrid means that students are going to have much more time to reflect AND comment on others. Excited about the reflection piece for our students #flipgridfever
Yes! I was going to do this, except I'm switching schools/districts... I did have my 8th graders introduce themselves to their high school teachers via Flipgrid. The teachers were excited to get these! #flipgridfever
SSUUUUUHHHHHHWWWWWEEEEEETTTTTTTT I see Space travel in the @Flipgrid future. THe Icon in the middle is SURE to be Recording in Space. THANK YOU FLIPGRID! #FLipgridFever

A1 part 2 - Discovered late in the year but using it more for reassessments. Students explain their better understanding of the content with other examples. Itβs moderated so I can man it and time is saved too. #FlipgridFeverπ₯
A2: varying times can help students t critically think (15 sec elevator pitch, 30 sec summaries, 1 min book talks, 2 min goal setting reflections, etc) #FlipgridFever
A2: I use the length options when to limit the kids' response. For Would You Rathers, I lower their time so they are short, sweet comments. But, for a book review, I give them a little longer so they have time to give examples from the book #FlipGridFever
A2: I like to offer the full 5 minutes when students are using @Flipgrid to film creative projects like news broadcasts and commercials. Shorter time frames are perfect when you want students to get straight and to the point summarizing a story or main idea.. #FlipgridFever
A2: I often use the shorter times to force my students to summarize or get their ideas out in an organized way. I tend to use the longer times for things like sharing writing, debating or projects sharing like paper slides. #flipgridfever
A1 I want to have a #parentvoice grid in some way. @Flipgrid is all about community and this seems like a great way to build it. Anyone try this and how did it go?! #FlipgridFever
A2: Students can use the longer video times to get feedback on presentations, while shorter times allow for students to quickly summarize their thoughts in a concise manner. #FlipgridFever
A2: I love the time limit being extended. I can see this being valuable as a studentβs finished product; a student teaching a lesson, genius hour presentation, book review, etc. #FlipgridFever
A2: Longer videos for self-reflections, math solving multi-step, shorter videos for vocabulary words, sentence starters, and tips for problem solving! #flipgridfever
A2: My Ss have done this with varying lengths of videos. I change the length to inspire creativity (especially if shortened) when Ss are pitching ideas for #geniushour projects! #flipgridfever
A1: A private grid for self-reflection grid. Topics: months of the school year, ideas for next year, professional development reflections, etc. It is easier for me to speak these things than to write them! #flipgridfever
A1: I would love to involve my parents to Flipgrid! I would create a grid that would be solely used together by my kids and their parents. β€οΈ It would be a great to see them respond together to open ended questions, bond and interact with each other. #FlipgridFever
A2: I think using the video length options to create flexibility with Ss responses is awesome! Start the kids off with 3 minutes and then limit them as the year goes by to help Ss become more precise! #FlipgridFeverπ₯
A2: Sometimes things take breadth/depth and sometimes quick summaries... for younger kids, not saying too much can be an issue... so limiting them when discussing say a math strategy can be beneficial for them and audience #FlipgridFever
One thing I teach my students is to narrow their arguments critically so that they can make a quick, to the point, solid argument. Using the different video lengths, I can challenge students to make their arguments concise before they record and post their #FlipGridFever
A2: I use it to have students practice getting to βthe meatβ of what needs to be said (concise) or do some serious βsplaining (longer time). I also love to do longer times with opinion answers so I can truly allow them to use #studentvooce#flipgridfever
A2: Storytelling Challenge!
1) Tell a story in 30 sec
2) Retell but add more details in 60 secs
3) Tell it again, but add more details & leave a cliffhanger! You have 90 secs!
4) Based on suggestions, choose a cliffhanger ending & retell story in 5 min or less!
#FlipgridFever
A1: As a coach, I have multiple classes to visit. It is easier to show different teachers the benefits by having multiple grids. I hope to convince more to get #flipgridfever next year!
A2: Variable video length is great! With shorter amounts of time, Ss have to be very succinct in their responses. Perfect for elevator pitches or similar #FlipgridFever
A2: Elevator pitch for the 15 sec video. What do you want your project to be?
During: 30-60 seconds for the students to explain their thinking/progress.
After: 60 seconds for the students to give their final pitch
After: 60 seconds to talk about growth mindset #FlipgridFever
A2: @FriendsinFourth#FlipGridFever Iβve used @Flipgrid as error analysis problems for math, where sometimes theyβd have only 30 seconds to explain. Iβve also used it in Social Studies where they created a commercial about a new tech tool they invented!
A2 You could mix up Story retells - 15 sec pass it on 15 sec, pass it on etc. Next student picks up where last one left off. Books commercials, Riddles/Clues #FLipgridFever
IF you stare directly in the middle of the pic and cross your eyes just right, you can see an image of the new Dashboard due to be realased at #FlipgridLive#FlipgridFever

When I want Ss to reflect I'll give them the 90 seconds. When I need more (Ss prepareed debate arguments) I bumped up the the time limit. #Differentiate for your Ss needs #FlipgridFever
A2: debates via @Flipgrid would be epic ! Having students share their differnrt points of view, musical performances or skits recorded would be inspiring. I've always felt that 1 min 30 sec at times felt limiting. But not anymore!!!! #FlipgridFever#StudentVoice
A2: Mixing the allowable video lengths allows Ss to focus their ideas, develops their ability 2 be precise, purposeful, practice vocabulary, & learn the power of language/words/diction. #FlipgridFever
I am very new to both twitter and flipgrid, crazy and to think I have been teaching for 17yrs now. Entered a Distance Learning Masters Program on Educational Technology @csuf#csufedtech, and learned about this great site. My kids loved it. #FlipgridFever
I did this for the past year... several did not really use... shared grid with just the student and the parent so they could dialogue back and forth #FlipgridFever
I actually used @Flipgrid last year in a small scale to create a bridge of communication between me and my Ps. So I created a Ps-only (password protected) and moderated grid for parents to submit questions/concerns in video form... it was a hit with some parents! #FlipgridFeverπ₯
I agree. Longer videos for things that could take longer to explain, but shorter time for teaching Ss (and adults) the beauty of being succinct and to-the-point. #flipgridfever
A2: Longer videos for self-reflections, math solving multi-step, shorter videos for vocabulary words, sentence starters, and tips for problem solving! #flipgridfever
A1: I actually had checking out Flipgrid on my to-do list yesterday. I had heard about it and wanted to check it out. Haven't made a grid yet since we're out for the summer...my initial thought for the 1st one was for sharing thoughts on what is Economics. #FlipgridFever
A2: Such as Twitter limits the number of characters in a Tweet, doing something similar with Ss could have major benefits. Such as an infomercial in 1:30 or an advertisement or persuasion assignment in a given time! Would be cool to see the results! #FlipgridFever
A2: My littles consistently use about the same length of time on all their videos so the variable length hasnβt really matter much so far. #flipgridfever
Hi! Becca, Inst. Coach K-5 site A1: We did some school wide via @ClassDojo school story using @MathBeforeBed#WODB prompts. Created some for grade spans for Ts to try to use. Math talks are great for these since never can get ALL voices heard #FlipgridFever
A2: 15 second videos for vocab! Each unit a grid, each word has a topic. Students get 15 seconds to put the definition into their own word???
Just randomly hit me. Definitely trying this! #flipgridfever
Q2. My (graduate) students are talkers so 5 min is great for getting them to prioritize. :) But I also used a 1 min "slice of life" for sharing dog videos, walks, fun in online/distance class. #flipgridfever
Iβve seen classes do 15 second stop motion videos explaining science or math concepts.
Iβve seen music classes use 5 min option for solo testing.
#FlipgridFever
A2: I like to provide my Ss with more recording time so that they feel empowered to share their voice without time restraints! Not all utilize the full time but at least itβs available! Also, allows for more in depth tasks for Ss to respond to! #FlipgridFever
I love the variable. So many options for critical thinking skills. 6 word stories on a topic, 30 second recap of the week for parents..... #FlipGridFever
A2: STEM explanation or science exploration needs lots of varied times. I want to use it more to gamify learning!! Varied time will be great when they need to solve something. #FlipgridFever
A2:) I think the time variable will allow kids to be more creative! Also, when my kiddos do oral reading they can read more than just a passage to help with fluency! This is going to be great for my RTI kids!! #Flipgridfever
A2 shorter length for conciseness like elevator pitches or concise summaries, longer length for explanations & reflections as well as for Ps to leave messages to Ss
#FlipgridFever
You could always do a practice one with family and friends. For my dadβs birthday last year, I made a grid for all of us to tell him Happy Birthday even though we are all miles apart. #flipgridfever
A1: I actually had checking out Flipgrid on my to-do list yesterday. I had heard about it and wanted to check it out. Haven't made a grid yet since we're out for the summer...my initial thought for the 1st one was for sharing thoughts on what is Economics. #FlipgridFever
A2: I give Ss 30 seconds to explain their better understanding of content on reassessments. Know it or not. Longer length for my Rappinβ Up The Semester recaps since song lengths vary. Also longer on check in to get a pulse of my class with privacy of moderated. #FlipgridFeverπ₯
A2 I often set video length to 1 min 30 sec to 3 min. I want to try a lightning response topic next year to make it extra fun. Constraints push our creativity (and maybe our patience). #FlipgridFever
That's awesome, Adriana! Sometimes I "secretly" have parents pop up on live classroom grids. I just send them the code and ask them to log on at certain times. The kids LOVE it, and so do the parents! #FlipgridFever
A2 there is skill in being able to respond in short and long time frames. Short = speak clearly and concisely. Long= know enough to use your time wisely. Develops the soft skills. #FlipgridFever
A2: I would use the differenttime lengths to help my students practice summarizing. After their 1st draft I would have them video again but cut down the time they had. #FlipgridFever
Mine was open ended a bit... I think it will be better if I attach more intentional goals to it (but still let them be free to use it as they need too)... #FlipgridFever
A2: Short videos to get to the most important. Longer videos for showing how to add details. You could do a progression β¬οΈ or β¬οΈ to show students what summarizing or ding detail looks and sounds like. #FlipgridFever
A2: Speed "dating" - have students teach a concept they learned and give them different times to do it in. Let them practice getting their ideas across succinctly. Like moving from a #SharkTank presentation to an elevator pitch #FlipgridFever
A3: Offer Ss the opportunity to be teacher for a day. Have them respond to their peers & give positive & constructive feedback. #StudentVoice#FlipgridFever
A2: Students can use the longer video times to get feedback on presentations, while shorter times allow for students to quickly summarize their thoughts in a concise manner. #FlipgridFever
Yea, something on background knowledge, or something everyone can share- what does economics mean to you? How have you used economics this summer? Great Ideas! #flipgridfever
A2 part 2 - Ss can really expand their writings now by reading them aloud! Iβm thinking that many times a Ss doesnβt realize how short their writings are until theyβve read it aloud or type it in google! This is going to be a game changer for expanding sentences! #Flipgridfever
As a basic use it's great for replacing a (written) discussion board, great for building community, students say it helped a lot w/their presentation confidence & speaking/defending their arguments. #flipgridfever
A2: For English Learners, allow students max time with a first response. Then offer structured frames for 2nd video with limited time and have them revise their 1st oral response. Gives them practicing condensing ideas, organization, and requires demand of lang! #FlipgridFever
A2: I usually give the students 1 to 2 minutes for replies. It could be fun to shrink it to 30 seconds. This would challenge them to answer quickly with sufficient support and evidence. #FlipgridFever
π₯ WOW! π₯
Paul aka the guy that leads the team that builds the web version of Flipgrid (student side and Educator Dashboard) is IN THE HOUSE!
#FlipgridFever
STOKEDD to hear that every used my promo code (SDTITMAS) and now has Flipgrid for FREEE!!! WHAAAT!?!? Don't listen to @SEANJFAHEY It's true... #FlipgridFever
Q2: I like the idea of challenging my kids to create 15 second summaries. It challenges them to think of the most important facts or details. #FlipgridFever
A2: The length of video response depends on the question and task. Ss sharing notes and presentations = longer length, Ss/Ts telling a joke, sharing a quick idea, or an introduction = shorter length. I also have seen "speed rounds" #FlipgridFever
A1 There are so many reasons to create grids. I have about 20, Iβm not sure, but I made an end of the year luau grid that was cute! I think I use a different grid when I have a different group or for special occasions but it could be standard or chapter specific. #FlipgridFever
I did something similar at the end of the year this year. I had Ss go on a Goose chase outside Friday. Ss had to find items in nature & connect it to the literature. I took pictures of them exploring and having fun and turned the pictures into a goodbye video. #flipgridfever.
A3: Iβve used it for students to post their ideas for a #geniushour project & theyβve given feedback to each other on question development & directing their focus. Weβve also collaborated w other classes to talk about a text! @klarebeechwood we need to do it again! #FlipgridFever
A3 I'm stoked to have teachers take it to the next level with student-to-student replies. My first thought- Math problems with Q/A among the students. #FlipgridFever
Oh! I like this idea!! Teaching the absolute necessities of a topic quickly! Would require some planning and practice for my kiddos, but I LOVE the idea! #flipgridfever
I have younger kids. We took time evaluating videos while class focusing on who looked at camera, who spoke up, who had good lighting. They started replying in videos w/positive tips to help! #FlipGridFever
A2: We often have issues when students try to put videos on their digital portfolios. @youtube seemed to be our only option. W/ @flipgrig variable video length we don't have to limit students w/ 90 seconds of content & they can embed their videos on their @edublogs#flipgridfever
A3: The nice thing about those is that they bring out even new ideas that start new convos! So Ss get even more of their voice out there! #flipgridfever
A3: I think one way to use S-to-S replies to amplify #StudentVoiceπ£οΈ is by teaching them how to constructively comment on others videos. It's not always about the negatives. I also think this will empower them to speak up more often! #FlipgridFeverπ₯
A2: I like to offer the full 5 minutes when students are using @Flipgrid to film creative projects like news broadcasts and commercials. Shorter time frames are perfect when you want students to get straight and to the point summarizing a story or main idea.. #FlipgridFever
I often have students ask questions about their classmates' videos. Ss can engage asynchronously and I can monitor everything. Ss can be in groups or respond to everyone. #FlipgridFever
A3: have a math discussion via @Flipgrid about the reasonableness of your suggested answer. Students can participate with their friends who are not in the same clas at the same time! And then have them grab their parents to participate too! #flipgridfever
A3 I love the idea of students giving feedback to one another. Sometimes their peers feedback is more cherished than mine. Plus it allows others to practice giving constructive feedback too #FlipgridFever
A3-Iβve used student replies randomly sometimes. Ss make their video, I randomly partner them up and that is who they reply to. Gets them to branch out and not just reply to their βfriends.β #FlipgridFever
Have them work up to shorter times. Def take some work but they'll have a blast with it. I'm going to do it with my math classes this year #FlipgridFever
A3: I plan to use this more this coming year for our #PBL feedback cycles. After groups present I will have a feedback grid for each group. This way they are responding but it is less public. I'm also hoping to use it for #WODB and have students defend their choice #FlipgridFever
A3: My Ss are ALWASY required 2 respond 2 at LEAST 3 of classmates w/Purposeful Feedback: compliment, connection, question. This allows 4 further dialogue & communication. It's AMAZING the learning & confidence that exudes from a wider audience beyond the T. #FlipgridFever
A3: In Writing we had a "I'm strong in" topic. Ss could post what they did well and others could ask for guidance/advice. Allowed both sides to communicate and understand one another in ways simple 1:1 partnerships wouldn't #FlipgridFever
A3: I used student to student replies for our #globalcollaboration partners!! Ss would create tasks for their #digitalpenpals and then were able to respond back & forth with each other. Ss felt a purpose in responding because of their relevant audience! #FlipgridFever
Using #Flipgrid for student-to-student feedback holds Ss accountable while doing their feedback. Similarly, it allows them to think about how they want to respond instead of being in the moment. Also, it allows the quieter Ss to respond, too! #FlipGridFever#StudentVoice
A2: App Smashing! Have the students create an @AdobeSpark, @WeVideo, or #iMovie video and have them upload that as their response in @Flipgrid. This way, they can create a video project up to 5 minutes. #FlipgridFever
A3: I would love to have Ss reply to one another more often. When I did the Dot Day project, I asked to Ss to respond to someone else. My 10th graders loved commenting on and cheering on the elementary Ss. #flipgridfever
A3: My Ss are very encouraging of eachother & leave very positive messages. I'd like to work on adding more specific feedback next year. Though I did have one Ss leave awesome feedback to himself recently! "From Future Me" he said ππΆ #flipgridfever
A3: My Ss are ALWAYS required 2 respond 2 at LEAST 3 of classmates w/Purposeful Feedback: compliment, connection, question. This allows 4 further dialogue & communication. It's AMAZING the learning & confidence that exudes from a wider audience beyond the T. #FlipgridFever
A3: If working on opinion writing this would be a great launch! Share opinion and then Ss reply to agree/disagree and practice orally before writing it out. #FlipgridFever
I love making videos using props in my intro video to them and then I reply to at least 2 videos and ask them to do the same with good quality feedback. This gets the conversation going even if they don't see eye to eye and they LOVE props! #FlipgridFever
A3: have a math discussion via @Flipgrid about the reasonableness of your suggested answer. Students can participate with their friends who are not in the same clas at the same time! And then have them grab their parents to participate too! #flipgridfever
A2: Definitely love that you can adjust it for the activity or for the group (I teach different grades). I love the shorter ones for pitching ideas shark tank style! #FlipgridFever
Absolutely! To me, this where you take Flipgrid to the NEXT LEVEL. Whenever anyone asked "What do you get with the paid version?" I always leaned on Replies. #FlipgridFever
A3: The ways students respond to one another is critical and something that has to be taught. Giving feedback stems always helps and eliminates short unclear responses such as "I liked what you said." #flipgridfever
a3. about to launch a grid where teachers become students and learn from/with students. when students learn something new in an app they share what it was and what subjects it could help them in - teaches get inspiration and dialogue opened #FlipgridFever
A3: What about having students complete peer editing of an essay using @Flipgrid?! Students could provide verbal feedback, actually show locations for additions or edits and, most importantly, be able to explain their written feedback much more in-depth. #flipgridfever
A2: So many responses, so hard to keep up!!!! Diff. time choices=more options for more in depth formative responses or more thorough analysis of given topics. Plus, more time to give quality feedback to others! #FlipgridFever
A2: 15 second videos for vocab! Each unit a grid, each word has a topic. Students get 15 seconds to put the definition into their own word???
Just randomly hit me. Definitely trying this! #flipgridfever
A3: have a math discussion via @Flipgrid about the reasonableness of your suggested answer. Students can participate with their friends who are not in the same clas at the same time! And then have them grab their parents to participate too! #flipgridfever
A3: For math, I've used written prompts to do error analysis that include "What do you like about this Ss work" "What suggestions would you make" "What theory or concept did they demonstrate?" These could be prompts to reflect on another Ss showing work #flipgridfever
Students can even reply to their own videos! This would be great for students to do a video before a project and then reply to themselves as a reflection at the end ππ #FlipgridFever
A3: design thinking and process! Have Ss share project ideas, hypothesis, solutions, then let Ss provide feedback to help refine the thinking, and give them time to rethink, dig deeper, and adjust proposals if needed. #FlipgridFever
I love having students ask questions on each others videos! I also like to use the idea of 1 comment (positive), 1 question & then a negative (but with a positive twist! #FlipgridFeverπ₯
A3: justifying answers from peers to peers. I think with modeling from the teacher they are able to support one another, the students, and give feedback. A rubric given to the kids might help. #StudentVoice#FlipgridFever
A3 Ss love to have other Ss respond to their videos! They then want to cont the convo by responding again! Really draws out my shy Ss giving them #studentvoice and confidence #FlipgridFever
BOOM!!!!
@FLipgrid is coming out with retro Cassette players that have a video screen so we can Create mixes of our favorite responses. I think it is part of the @MicrosoftEDU acquisition. Everyone loves retro #FLipjams#FlipgridFever ITs true Charlie is leaking info
A3: #FlipgridFever.. @lessonsinrm9 & I used @Flipgrid to collaborate with our classes. My 5th graders created word problems for her 4th graders to solve. My students watched the 4th grader responses and responded if the students were right or wrong! #cdsdchat
Call to Action: Donβt forget to post your #FlipGrid video response for Week 3 by June 22nd & make sure you respond to others! We are better together, letβs share our learning and start a conversation. https://t.co/IGdzziROUI#FlipgridFever#sdedchat
A3 definitely β€οΈ idea of providing model for Ss to learn how to give feedback. But also like idea of Ss trying 1st and then have group share thoughts about type of feedback that is helpful. #FlipGridFever
A3: Especially with middle school and up, use peer-to-peer feedback to your advantage bc thatβs their authentic audience. Model scholarly discussion to make sure talking points are focused! #flipgridfever
A3: We collaborated with another class and shared math about us. It was titled Figure Me Out!! We answered and checked our partner classes. It was really fun!! Fabulous feedback!! #flipgridfever
A3: I model to students how to effectively provide feedback. I work with first graders, so we use sentence starters to provide organization and clarity. #FlipgridFever
Using #Flipgrid for student-to-student feedback holds Ss accountable while doing their feedback. Similarly, it allows them to think about how they want to respond instead of being in the moment. Also, it allows the quieter Ss to respond, too! #FlipGridFever#StudentVoice
I think that is a larger culture issue overall that can be overcome once everyone is "doing it"... but there is no reason they have to be on screen... point camera at an object, or wear avatar/mask #FlipgridFever
Yes! Whenever my ELL Ss would use Flipgrid at the beginning of the year, they usually scripted out something to read and then say it. Towards the end, they were winging it and doing a fine job! #flipgridfever
Thanks for the great ideas everyone. I'm excited to use Flipgrid for more student-to-student reflection next year. I see this could be great for reviewing each other's projects before they are completed and turned in for a grade. #flipgridfever
A3: It was awesome with my Rube Goldberg project. Students shared their progress and others could offer ideas and suggestions! #FlipgridFeverπ₯ #StudentVoiceπ£ βοΈβπ‘ππΌ
A3: Each student βwroteβ a number story and then the rest of the class could reply with their solution. It also led to discussion about how kids spoke (or didnβt speak clearly) and if they could understand the question in the story problem #flipgridfever
A3. I know I have teachers that want to use it next year for book buddies. My school is 5-8, so hoping to see some more cross curricular and cross grade level ideas. Asking questions about research subjects. Giving critiques. So many possibilities! #FlipgridFever
A3: I am a firm believer that deeper understandings occur when students are able to explain to each other. By allowing student-to-student replies, they are now able to take the initial topic further. They take ownership of the material. #FlipgridFever
I like that! I was thinking maybe each child had their own GRID and they can post their video "tutorials" about a topic! The possibilities are endless with unlimited grids!!!!!!! #FlipgridFever#StudentVoice
A3) amplifying student voice using Socratic seminar ideas- I like what you said... have you considered or how would ____ change your thinking. How powerful to have the Ss talking to each other in this regard?! #FlipgridFever
I have several students that created some really high quality video productions when they learned they could upload projects from other platforms like @AdobeSpark and iMovie. #flipgridfever
A2: App Smashing! Have the students create an @AdobeSpark, @WeVideo, or #iMovie video and have them upload that as their response in @Flipgrid. This way, they can create a video project up to 5 minutes. #FlipgridFever
I agree so much. The peer feedback piece has really enhanced my student leadership class and taught them how to be clear and concise in their conversations w/ me, other Ts, and their peers! #FlipGridFever
A4: Been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm & participation from Ss & Ts across the globe that have added their voice through song on the #singasong grid! Never could have imagined that! #FlipgridFever
A3: I think this would help in teaching digital citizenship. My students love to see how many views they get and how many likes. This will allow them to give student-to-student positive feedback. This will extend our accountability talk that we use in the classroom #FlipgridFever
I like that! I was thinking maybe each child had their own GRID and they can post their video "tutorials" about a topic! The possibilities are endless with unlimited grids!!!!!!! #FlipgridFever#StudentVoice
A3: It helps them to be honest since they know it would be reciprocated, plus it'll hold them accountable for taking their responses seriously. Peer-to-peer is always such a valuable perspective! #studentvoice#FlipgridFever
A3- student replies have really helped me to see when students are "getting it"- sometimes not evident in written work but when one explains a concept to another.... #flipgridfever
When Ss finish an art piece, in lieu of traditional gallery walk when Ss leave sticky notes, have Ss make a video showing their work & inspiration. Classmates can then reply and give keepsakes for the artist. Also allows for practicing digital citizenship. #FlipgridFever
A2. Elevator pitches. Speed book talks. Detailed ideas. Mini presentations. More time options = more limits or more content depending on the situation. #FlipGridFever
#FlipGridFever Q3 Students learn how to respectively respond to the work of peers through student-to-student replies. IMO Kids value the opinions of their peers much more than those of the adults working with them.
Yes! I was thinking they can also set BOY goals and reply to self w/progress as the year goes on...great way to practice self reflection! #FlipgridFever
My first graders peer edited each other's writings. I had all the students post a video of an introduction or conclusion to Flipgrid. Then, students would reply with 1 positive and 1 improvement. It was a great learning experience, and the students had a lot of fun #FlipgridFever
I had these! β₯οΈ So yeah @design2research is making it a super challenge to keep my πon his tweets & still participate in the @Flipgrid chat! I'm so torn, but I must collect the clues! ππ΅οΈπ»ββοΈ #FlipgridFever#CharliesFlipHunt
A3 @owenpeery and I are hoping to connect our computer science classes to give each other feedback on their programs using 2 stars and a wish. #FlipgridFever
A3: Sooo much learning happens in the to and fro of comments (Kinda why @Twitter chats are the best #ProD). I think student to student replies are key not only to #StudentVoice but the learning itself! #flipgridfever
@Flipgrid allows so much of what we do each day in the classroom to automatically become authentic. Gives extra purpose to students who might not see it otherwise. #Flipgridfever
A3: Especially with middle school and up, use peer-to-peer feedback to your advantage bc thatβs their authentic audience. Model scholarly discussion to make sure talking points are focused! #flipgridfever
A4: My Ss created green screen videos for argumentative topics: Class Pres, Best Ice Cream Shop, and Infomercial. Posted in Flipgrid and gave feedback. So much fun!!! #flipgridfever
A4: Twas the day before Christmas Break, when all through the school all the students were dreary and the teachers were too!
I asked the Ss to make a little flip to encourage another Ss and we made it our goal that everyone got a shoutout.
Good rapport building. #flipgridfever
Gotta bounce early #FlipgridFever! Iβm being summoned to do some vacation planing for the fam. With a 2 & 5 year old, this quiet time doesnβt roll around too often. Happy chatting. Canβt wait to meet many of you at #FlipgridLive this summer!!
A3-Iβve had Ss respond with why they agree or disagree with answer to a prompt. This has helped my 1st graders learn to respectfully disagree or agree with reasoning. #FlipgridFever
A4: End of the year grid w/ Ss giving Ts shoutouts, Ts giving goodbyes to Ss, Ss thanking their parents/family, & Ss reflecting on their year- #communitybuilding#FlipgridFever#REFLECTION
A2: Elevator speech, Power Presentations PechaKuchu style, Live Storyboarding, Commercials, Live at Five newscast practice, portfolio, job interview #FlipgridFever#edmodolove
A4. My favorite was getting kids into @JoyceBronwynβs #whatif Flipgrid when we were participating in our first @globalreadaloud this past year and being able to tie everything together. So need to have them hear kids from all over the world & share their ideas. #FlipGridFever
A4: I was able to connect with @EdtechAnt and his Ss in South Africa at the time and have them share their end product through @flipgrid. The Ss were intrigued by sharing with a completely different country. #pregridpals#flipgridfever
A4. Student wrote in my eval "Your students won't like to make videos at first. Keep making them do it, they'll turn- it was the best part of the class." #FlipgridFever (adult learners can sometimes be slow adopters!)
A4 Hands down best Flipgrid story was the student who wasn't comfortable even raising her hand, sharing her voice (with her puppy) in an EPIC book talk. Then seeing her this year TEACHING her peers about Flipgrid. #FlipgridFever
I'm excited to use Flipgrid for scaffolding writing assignments this summer. I'm going to have ss talk about the topic they'll write about first, get feedback, and then get to writing.
#flipgridfever
A4: Shared b4 but worth retelling... had a new S extremely shy/quiet. But in her personal grids, she had this outgoing alter-ego personality that let me know her better. She eventually came out of shell w others too but thanks to #FlipgridFever I didn't have to wait for that.
A4: My best @Flipgrid story involves my student G. G sat silently in her class ALL year long, she didn't willingly participate and just kind of "existed" -- I created an assignment where I wanted them to share their goals and SHE was my 1st video! a 4 min long one! #flipgridfever
A4: (cont) she included her INCREDIBLE artwork and shared several personal anecdotes and things about herself -- even showed her WONDERFUL sense of humor! I CRIED so hard watching her video... it was my GREATEST success! #FlipgridFeverπ₯
A4: @mlarson_nj posted a Flipgrid in our book study. We were quickly challenged by @LeachTeach4 to do it βas you areβ aka no makeup, hair a mess, in the car... Awesome raw footage there!!! #FlipgridFever
A4: In my Choose Your Own Adventure series my kids work through various levels to show mastery of a skill and earn badges. They earn their badge after @Flipgrid so whenever anyone gets to go record, they all cheer βYou go flip that grid!β #FlipgridFever
A4: This is one of my favorite #FlipgridFever stories! What an awesome person to meet, in a really awesome place, talking about an awesome product! An honor for sure! π¬π§ #Bett2018#MicrosoftEdu@Flipgrid
We have a winner!!! π This AWESOME guy @HeRhymesWithMe found me for the βFlipgrid Find Kathi at #BETT2018 β challenge & did this impromptu interview to win a @Flipgrid hoodie! #FlipgridFever
A4 I had a 4th grade student who never smiled, always looked like he was frowning. It was hard to get him to talk or respond in class. When I opened up the opportunity to respond on #Flipgrid , he became a diff. child! Very theatrical with a big smile on his face! #FlipgridFever
A4:) in math I gave students the answer and they had to create the word problem. They used teamwork to Create a group @Flipgrid and then reviewed their peers. It was neat to see the different problems they constructed. #FlipgridFever
A4: High School Teachers sharing success stories on a new tool (Middle School teachers who were first using the said tool.
Excited about how our media specialist at @ecmsrams is gong to use it for book clubs this year. #flipgridfever
A4:how do I pick just one? The positive feedback from Ts in #bwrsdREADY who did not expect to get a thank you via @Flipgrid from a former S during teacher appreciation week. (Moderated grid. Private links shared to Ts. =genuine thanks from Ss to Ts!) #flipgridfever#winwin
A4: Introverts. This student said maybe 10 words to me all semester, but when I gave him the creative room for "What song would you choose to play every time you walked into a room 4 life, what would it be?" He blew me away with this:
https://t.co/kTrAR2XO0V#FlipGridFever
A3: I had students follow a simple reply rubric, talking about the speed and clarity of the video, content, and then suggestions. Same as they would in person, but all needed to reply to 2-3 videos #FlipgridFever
A4. Awkward 8th Grade Boy Flipgrid Story.
Boy recorded an intro video at home without a shirt... Had to follow up the next day, and send a quick email home letting Mom know what happened. All for student voice and choice but...
#NoShirtNoService#flipgridfever
really dont want t go but have to. its 2:30am and I am presenting 10 times tomorrow with some amazing pupils - Introducing @Flipgrid at National Digital Learning Event! Bringing the #Flipgridfever
A4 I had the free version and used multiple topics in one grid. Kids would get into other classesβ work. Usually it was mischief, but one student decided to do a little research on the other topics and created really thoughful videos! #FlipgridFever
My favorite @Flipgrid stories come from the many times I get to assist a teacher implement it into their classrooms. Seeing what the Ss in @KlagMolly's class completed and amplify their own voice really is awesome. I love all of those numerous occurrences. #FlipgridFever
When I saw a Grid in 2013 created by @plemmonsa and his 2nd graders as they discussed the power of Black History Month... I truly learned what @Flipgrid was about π
Thank you, Andy. Iβll never forget you or your students. #FlipgridFever
A4: When the #flipgridbustour came to my school 4th & 5th-graders got up in front of a room of adults and talked about how they use @Flipgrid! "It helps me get to know other people...I love sharing my talents with the world." π#flipgridfever
A4: My best @Flipgrid story involves my student G. G sat silently in her class ALL year long, she didn't willingly participate and just kind of "existed" -- I created an assignment where I wanted them to share their goals and SHE was my 1st video! a 4 min long one! #flipgridfever
A4: My favorite @Flipgrid story was using it for a math learning challenge last year w/ @MrMerrillsClass! It showed me the possibilities of using it for #globalcollaboration & allowed as an opportunity to connect & learn w/ other Ss around the π! #FlipgridFever
A4: Best flipgrid moment was a culminating activity for a coding camp where students showed their appreciation and knowledge of their new found skills for their teachers and the State Farm (company the sponsored the camp) #FlipgridFever
A4: It was awesome to use @Flipgrid for Teacher Appreciation Week! Ss thanked their specials Ts, librarian, music T, PE coaches and they were really touched by the personal messages...esp b/c they hadn't used/seen FG before! #FlipgridFever
A3: So many ways! To model good digital citizenship, math talks, #GridPals activities, tell a story & continue it, peer feedback on a project, book clubs #FlipgridFever
A4b: And there was the fact that being new to Twitter and Connected ecuatorness I happened to fall into this outstanding community called #FlipgridFever ... so there's that too
Also pretty psyched to give ss the choice of creating reading summaries/reflections orally or in writing. I think Flipgrid could be a great tool to help differentiate my instruction and assessment this summer.
#flipgridfever
When Ss finish an art piece, in lieu of traditional gallery walk when Ss leave sticky notes, have Ss make a video showing their work & inspiration. Classmates can then reply and give keepsakes for the artist. Also allows for practicing digital citizenship. #FlipgridFever
A4. My favorite story is how @navilez82 had all the 5th grade students record a special end-of-the-year note to their teachers using @Flipgrid It. Totally. ROCKED! #flipgridfever
Seeing how it could be a student voice equalizer was such a powerful moment that I think I drove poor @design2research and @Taralson nuts those first few days after I found the app on @MicrosoftEDU I was so emotionally moved by this app! I wanted to shout it out !#FlipgridFever
In reply to
@sdtitmas, @design2research, @Taralson, @MicrosoftEDU
Great idea! Added bonus, other visitors like teachers, family, and community members can also leave feedback! I'm thinking hallway art shows! #flipgridfever
BONNIE π #GridPals is a favorite of mine too!! I wish I was going to ISTE so I could hug you for creating such a wonderful collaborative bundle of AWESOME! (still waiting for #GridPals tees & stickers ;) ) #FlipgridFeverπ₯
Sounds like fun! My students created word problems from scratch, but I did not think about giving them the answers first. I'll have to try it out next time. #FlipgridFever
A4 My best Flipgrid story is: I have a student that never participates in class, takes the day off if she knows she has a presentation to do. She willingly shares here voice and opinions in Flipgrid #FLipgridFever
... when my 81 yr old Nana (aka ma) recorded a response to my class of littles π it was the hit of the week! Go Nana! Go Nana! They loved hearing her voice & really took time to pause & appreciate her 20 words of wisdom π broke down all barriers π
A4: We cheered up a boy with Christmas cheer. He didn't have long to live and We encouraged him with Christmas songs, stories, jokes. It meant lots to his family. I shared it out and many of you joined on that grid. #FlipgridFever
A4: Having students honestly share their mid year goals and get a pulse on my class. It really was empowering for my students to have a say in how THEIR class adjusted throughout the year and I was able to hear from every student!#FlipgridFeverπ₯ #StudentVoiceπ£
A4: just 1?! I am amazed every kid embraced @Flipgrid I gave them choices for a President's Day project-even the students who don't speak in class chose this! Some put a picture or map in front of the camera but they still chose it! & my principal surprise BD grid! #FlipgridFever
A4: S this yr spent most day in RSP & when in class rarely spoke. Started using @MathBeforeBed 4 daily math HW 4 our #NighttimeNumeracy Grid. HE HAD A VOICE. He β€οΈ @Flipgrid so much, I started a Joke Grid just 4 him. He left jokes & Ss would answer next day. #FlipgridFever
Flipgrid gets Ss talking that normally will not or choose not to use their voice! I had a Select Mute tell me that she would only show her paper on @flipgrid at the beginning of the year. By the end, she was rambling on and on. #flipgridfever
A4: My best @Flipgrid story involves my student G. G sat silently in her class ALL year long, she didn't willingly participate and just kind of "existed" -- I created an assignment where I wanted them to share their goals and SHE was my 1st video! a 4 min long one! #flipgridfever
I can't choose one! One that comes to mind is when Ss created their own videos for parents to view at the beg of their Parent Conferences. Shared what they were proud of, areas of improvement, message to parents. Parents were floored and lots of good tears! #FlipgridFever
A4 Ss pitch idea 4 a field trip. Ss say what they were interested in, how it connects to curriculum, & who would get to go (gr level, clubs, etc). Winners went 2 Dallas Theater to see Frankstein (1st theater experience for most of them). #FlipgridFever
I want a flipgrid just full of @design2research curated memes. Thanks again for being on @edtechrewind and talking about Flipgrid and a little about Soul Asylum #FlipgridFever
I'm teaching a social work class about working w families in the Fall and gonna find an international class to set up board to talk about cultural experiences of "family"- can't wait! Will be my first #GridPals. #FlipgridFever
A4/2: also used @Flipgrid last summer for a family reunion...everyone was asked to create videos before the reunion. Instant conversation starters! Grandparents, cousins, even a service dog, made videos. It was great! #flipgridfever
A4 Students reflected on the year and gave advice and tips to next year's class. Then the class in the fall read their Flipgrid reflections, advice and tips to learn what to expect for the year and set their own goals for the year. It was awesome! #flipgridfever
I'm missing #ISTE for the 1st time in years! π #BETT18 was my big trip this year. Family vacation in Maine next week instead. I'll definitely have FOMO...it's hard for me to miss #ISTE18! See you at #FlipgridLive, though! #FlipgridFever

A3: Students feel proud of themselves and their work when complimented by their peers. I would add responding or complimenting on 3 peer videos a must for my students. This would be great for digital citizenship. #FlipgridFever
I had one particular S this year that blow up my notifications because she was uploading videos from home doing responses to questions or to gridpals. It was so great to see that level of engagement. #flipgridfever
A4: We cheered up a boy with Christmas cheer. He didn't have long to live and We encouraged him with Christmas songs, stories, jokes. It meant lots to his family. I shared it out and many of you joined on that grid. #FlipgridFever

A4: My best @Flipgrid story is the overall experience. I must admit, as a special education teacher, I was nervous about using it in my inclusion class, wasn't sure how my Ss with IEPs would respond to it. Turns outs they loved it! Great way to give all Ss a voice! #flipgridfever
A4: I actually love watching the kids bond with each other as they take their selfies in little groups. Itβs great to see them really enjoy using @Flipgrid and collaborating with each other. #FlipgridFever
A4: During our research of historical figures, students created a video explaining what they had learned so far. Wow! One student gave a critical response explaining the depths of the Civil War. If he didnβt have this outlet, we would have never heard his words. #FlipgridFever
A4: It was awesome to use @Flipgrid for Teacher Appreciation Week! Ss thanked their specials Ts, librarian, music T, PE coaches and they were really touched by the personal messages...esp b/c they hadn't used/seen FG before! #FlipgridFever
I can't choose one! One that comes to mind is when Ss created their own videos for parents to view at the beg of their Parent Conferences. Shared what they were proud of, areas of improvement, message to parents. Parents were floored and lots of good tears! #FlipgridFever
Oh yeah, forgot to introduce myself. Iβm Amanda, a 4th grade ELA and Science teacher from New Jersey. (Had a camp staff orientation so Iβm late to the game!) #FlipgridFever
I was going to debut it publicly tomorrow during our #studentvoice presentation at #opportUNITY18 but it empowered ME to continue reaching ALL the Ss using @Flipgrid as their safe, creative space! #FlipGridFever
A4: #FlipgridFever@Wes_Kieschnick introd. us to @Flipgrid in our very 1st cohort session this year in our district! Since then my favorite @Flipgrid stories revolve around my Ss being able to speak and be themselves! Iβve had kids get so creative & the quiet Ss talk nonstop!
We used @Flipgrid at @HubsNHHS to introduce our faculty to each other for new staff, etc. and tell why we teach. It was a great start to walk in the auditorium and see the responses looping. #aweinspiring#flipgridfever
A5 My favorite back to school @Flipgrid activity actually begins before school even starts! Create a class grid, then a getting to know you topic. Introduce yourself, share with new students and have them post their own! Relieves first day anxiety! #FlipgridFever
Yes! Or if speakers come in, or to thank parent volunteers, the list goes on! So many uses and people that haven't seen it are blown away! #FlipgridFever
A4 Ihad so many great responses with @Flipgrid it really is hard to choose just one. I think my students did a great job on their weather reports, but I β€οΈ them all! #FlipgridFever
A4. The students also had a great time leaving Christmas Cheer for a childhood cancer patient. Someone was organizing a grid for students to sing carols, read Christmas stories, and tell Christmas jokes. Forget what the grid was called! #flipgridfever

A5. I sent an email out to all our faculty about free flipgrid (I presented FG at fac mtg last term) so in the Fall I hope to help folks find their #FlipgridFever. Also imagining how it might be useful for research collaborations & committees.
A4: Best @flipgrid story was checking out @JoyceBronwyn's WhatIf Grid & learning about her student Sam who was so pumped about @TheGlobalGoals! I ended up sharing about him in Doha, Qatar where he inspired students from all around the Middle East! #TeachSDGs#FlipGridFever
A5: Sharing advice from last year's class, Back to School night sharing, connecting with families at home, reflections, math talks, creating review videos! Limitless!! #flipgridfever
I learned Ss needed addβl β± to re-record their videos. I was thinking they were taking too long...they should be done...but I π that they were trying to make it better. I also β€οΈ that Ss figured out they could π and record; thinktime!#FlipGridFever
His parents were so supportive. They weren't always the best jokes yet he was so animated and LOVED it. Our class couldn't wait to hear the next one. #FlipgridFever
In reply to
@historyfrog, @MathBeforeBed, @Flipgrid
A5: Weekly student recaps. Everyone will talk about one thing they learned and one thing they still have questions about each week. And they'll respond each others questions.
#WhoeverDoesTheMostWorkIsDoingTheLearning#FlipgridFever
A5 Will set up more grids, possibly different one per teaching objective, which I will be teaching 8th grade math & science. Then different topic under grid. #flipgridfever
#FlipgridFever A5: Oh, the plans I have! I am thinking of having a routine either daily or weekly Flipgrid exit ticket! Ss will get practice in writing, creative thinking, speaking and listening all in Spanish! Along with some real-time feedback from me and their peers.
A4: Still a baby flipgridder (that's a wordπ) so I've only done the basic, but I enjoyed having students reflect on what they'd say to Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War & also their Genius Hour reflections. #stilllearning#teachergoals#FlipgridFever
A4: Sorry had to post one more! Ss created a "report card" and graded me on the last day of school. It was the most informative feedback I've ever received in my career. Some Ss went home and recorded extra ones bc they had more they didn't get to say in class! #FlipgridFever
A4:The most bittersweet and memorable was my Ss recorded a nonscripted vid end of the yr for me. It made me cry bc some of them really shared their π & soul. #FlipgridFever#StudentVoice
Speaking assessments (formative and summative) are some of my favorite activities to do in Flipgrid. I can target pronunciation, spontaneous speaking skills, vocabulary skills, oral grammar, etc. #FlipgridFever
A5: I have the following ideas on paper:
1. #GridPals
2. Quarter Goals
3. Goals for 7th Grade
4. Parent/Teacher Communication
5. Book Talks
6. Advice from former Ss! <-- this one was a students idea!
#FlipgridFeverπ₯
A5: I'm hoping to use @Flipgrid for more school-wide and community based activities in the fall. I also want to explore using it with our sister school in Uganda! π€#flipgridfever
A5 I want to create a #gridforME for #reflection with my practice, my lessons, my PD, and my experiences as an educator; I want to allow my Ss to have grids for personal reflection with some set guidelines and continue using for parent communication and involvement #FlipGridFever
A4 an educator overheard one student to another, βI LOVED what you said on Flipgrid! Why donβt you talk more in class?β So many amazing students and ideas arenβt always heard!! And friendships can form because of these connections #FlipgridFever
A5. My role is changing from classroom to coach, so Iβll definitely use it to check in with Tβs about PD, PLC, etc, but since we all free full access, I can also use it to keep in contact with my students!!! #FlipgridFever
I have to duck out early tonight, but WOW! I will be busy reading the transcripts on @participate later!! Thanks for the great ideas tonight! #FlipgridFever
A5: I need to head into the Discover Library and scope that out. I also want to play with some of the feature so I'm super versed in it! #flipgridfever
A5: In all seriousness, I want to try to involve my studentsβ parents in using Flipgrid in the fall. Havenβt quite figured out specifically how yet. Any ideas? #FlipgridFever
A5: So stoked to mash-up @Flipgrid and my gamified lessons this next year. Ss are going to have every opportunity to share their voice and make sure itβs heard! #flipgridfever
A5: I plan on inspiring more Ts to use it to amolify even more student voice!! The new possibilities are endless and I can't wait to spread even more #FlipgridFever next year!! I'd also love to use it to connect my classroom to parents! Definitely a million options with @Flipgrid
A5: I will use @Flipgrid not only as a choice and vehicle, but as a way to build up Ts who need to find their voice as well. Since Iβve been βflipgridingβ, I have become less introverted and more versed in how I talk and the command of my words have resonance. #flipgridfever
A5: So many opportunities to use @Flipgrid w/ everything!! I will have grids for each subject area & for our #globalcollaboration projects! I also want to have a grid set up so Ss can share anything they want throughout the course of the day! βWhatβs on your mind?β #FlipgridFever
A5: I will definitely do 2 Truths & a Lie again. The videos were fun to watch each day before dismissal. I also have Ss introduce themselves at open house or that weekend. This year I have a grid for my new students to watch videos left from my past Ss. #flipgridfever
A5 Continue to reach out to Ts on our campus with a question of the week, continue to promote book talks, continue to use for retelling, etc. #FlipgridFever
A5. Book talks - students, me, state award books, etc. Hmmm need to think of some #Makerspace uses - maybe how toβs or sharing creations. Still brainstorming! #FlipgridFever
Q5. Creating Maker kits for Ss to check out in my library. Each will have a QR code within it leading to a Flipgrid for them to share what they created with whatever tools they took home. #FlipgridFever
A5: Planning to use it to extend discussion in my AP classes. I lead our faculty climate committee. We can use this at the start of the year to share what we want for our school in the new year. My mid is racing with the possibilities! #FlipgridFever
A5: i really want to start a full work with my @Flipgrid recording studio, moving to creation, full use of #studentvoice and start collaborating globally and not just within our classroom. #FlipgridFever
A4: #FlipGridFever sharing what @Flipgrid was with the other teachers in my school and seeing it take off in our school! Even our principal was using it to record Ss saying kind & encouraging words to their teachers/former teachers!! π
It would be awesome if a PE teacher used it to document the athletic performance for the course of a year. The kids would come so far, and it would amazing to see it play out on @Flipgrid! #FlipgridFever
A5: I have been reading this summer about quality PD. I think that Flipgrid is going to help us reflect, respond, AND have a global perspective (hopefully we will be partnering with a school District in Anchorage) Flipgrid will redefine how Ts and ss will learn #FlipgridFever
A4) student who really struggled w/ writing & was giving me a reflection on a project, read the reflection it made no sense. Thought he didn't get it. Found @Flipgrid asked Ss to redo reflections for me so I could learn...turns out he knew & understood everything. #FlipgridFever
A5: Iβm going to try to allow a student to βbuildβ a grid per week and have classmates respond, I give them a topic, they come up with a vid, link, etc and questions #studentvoice#Flipgridfever#theyplayteacher
A4: A shy student "graduating" from screencasting to facing the camera & speaking w/confidence, a student using it to leave me music challenges, & this wk listening to my 1st & 2nd graders leave great advice for next year's Ss β₯οΈ #FlipgridFever
A5: I actually want to get more Ts to use it. I've been tweeting my old HS, area HS, my College, libraries, and others to let them know! #flipgridfever
Last day with students today! Made a @Flipgrid topic for staying in touch this summer and my students are already on the grid! Not even out of school for a few hours and they are on it!β€οΈ #Flipgridfever at its finest!#edtech#summerbreak
A5 I will definitely use the discovery library to help me set up my grids by standards. Thatβs one thought I had but Iβm still reflecting! #FlipgridFever
I know! He still hasn't said many words, but I know this class and experience taught him to OWN his talents and expertise and find his voice in a way that was comfortable for him! #FlipGridFever
A5: I will use it for book talks, book commercials, reading responses, βBattle of the Battlesβ (Civil War) hooks for their debate, and my list will continue to grow all summer! #FlipgridFever
A5: I definitely will continue to use in all subject areas and want to connect with other third grade classrooms! Also maybe have a grid for book recommendations! #FlipGridFever
A5: continue to have students share their math and science strategies . I would love to expand globally with other grid pals, have students their own GRID to share their videos, and so much more. The possibilities are making me very excited! #FlipgridFever#StudentVoice
That's a good idea too, when I present PD to Ts next year, @Flipgrid exit Tix, what did you learn what Q's do you still have, AND reply to each one #FlipgridFever
A5: Iβm going to try to allow a student to βbuildβ a grid per week and have classmates respond, I give them a topic, they come up with a vid, link, etc and questions #studentvoice#Flipgridfever#theyplayteacher
Have parents respond to what they know about something, or have students teach them something and they have to share out what they learned! #flipgridfever
A5: #FlipGridFever I want to create a grid where on Fri students can recap their week to their parents .. like a weekly virtual newsletter! I also want to continue collaborating with classes outside of my school or in other countries! Thereβs endless possibilities with @Flipgrid
Q5: I want to do Star Student tribute letters, Connect it with book tasting and a book ball. I also want to get stuck in a video game like @MrMerrillsClass#FlipgridFever
I sent a link to her parents and they were blown away! They actually came to school THAT afternoon and hugged me. She even hugged me on the last day! That girl is definitely something special!! #FlipgridFeverπ₯
A4: My best story was a new student, who spoke little English, explained a math problem on Flipgrid. The next day I complimented her on it, and the whole class applauded. After that, her English and confidence grew by leaps and bounds. #FlipgridFever
A5 - I get to introduce @Flipgrid to educators in a new district, in a new state, in a new role, working for a new company. Weβll be able to amplify #studentvoice with no reservations! #FlipgridFever
A5: hmmm. I am waiting to hear whatβs coming our way as of 8.1.18 before making any twitter declarations. Super psyched to be presenting math uses with @Flipgrid at @masscue in October! @SusanCast7#flipgridfever
A5: back to PD though, how awesome that we will have a living breathing tool where ts and ss can go back after the fact and learn and reflect or globally collaborate without worrying about timezones etc #flipgridfever
A5) commercials. Ss will be creating advertisments to share about #digitalcitizenship, #ewaste , for products they create...the possibilities are endless. Also getting more teachers on district using it. #OnAMission#FlipgridFever
Q4: The weather is HOT all year round in South Texas. It hadnβt snowed in over 14 years! This past December our kids experienced snow for the 1st time! The kids were soo excited they asked if they could reflect on Flipgrid. #FlipgridFever
One of our first project will be to think back to last years teachers & what we remembered from them. Theyβll record & then send them to the teachers. Hope to show my Ss & other Ts the benefit early on #FlipGridFever
#FlipgridFever Would like to create a grid for coaching teachers. I can send the link in my monthly Newsletter. I could ask for feedback on PD teacher would like to see, a vlog, and other questions.
A5: Soooo much, especially after I learn what I can really do with FG!!! I want to do more reflecting, more feedback, but my biggest goal is to connect with others outside of our school!!! #beyond4walls#collaboration#teachergoals#FlipgridFever
A5: Continue to use it to capture my student's performances of music reading exercises throughout the year for teacher/peer assessments. #FlipgridFever
A5 In the last week of semester I had students do a video where they described how they met 2 class learning objectives and how they would build on learning. Great reflection and gave me insight on assignments. Keeping that for fall- good self/class evaluation. #FlipgridFever
A5: As an Instructional Technology Specialist, I will continue to use it as an out of office voicemail method for Ts to get in contact with me. #FlipgridFever
Know what was cool? I'm taking a class through @ASU and @Coursera. On the tech part, one of the app that is listed as "do you know" was FlipGrid. I was like "Yes!" #FlipgridFever I included it in LP for the assignement!
A5) commercials. Ss will be creating advertisments to share about #digitalcitizenship, #ewaste , for products they create...the possibilities are endless. Also getting more teachers on district using it. #OnAMission#FlipgridFever
Thinking it might be cool to share w/our librarian for book recommendations...can have a code and password on the book somehow to watch/listen what other students' thought about the story? Might be fun! @shawndy_elam@smetigerwallace#FlipgridFever
In reply to
@miss_stricker, @sdtitmas, @shawndy_elam, @smetigerwallace
A5. I think it would so rad to use @Flipgrid as the medium for my school's morning news program. It could open up the show to the entire school! I don't have all the details worked out yet but I've got a little time to work on it. #flipgridfever
A5: I plan to spread the love! I already had a PD scheduled now I can show all the perks! I am going to use it consistently for book talks, #pbl and anything else my students or I can think of! #FlipgridFever
I donβt think weβve seen this yet but Career Day on Flipgrid! Parents post a quick, fun video on what they do, their office, etc. students can watch in class and even reply! #FlipgridFever
A5: I also plan to suggest to the music Ts to use @Flipgrid in private lessons. Record a student playing a piece the first time it's seen. Then, record again right before a performance. Boom! Visible learning that allows students to see AND hear their progress! #flipgridfever
I have to go. Thanks for the great chat. I am sharing @Flipgrid with other educators at a 3 day conference this July. You have all shared so many great ideas. Thanks for helping build my #PLN#flipgridfever
It was one of the first things I posted under my name at my desk. I have a QR code with a message to scan it and leave me a message on Flipgrid if they need to ask me a Q. 24/7 Tech Integration Support. #flipgridfever
A5: As an Instructional Technology Specialist, I will continue to use it as an out of office voicemail method for Ts to get in contact with me. #FlipgridFever
I donβt think weβve seen this yet but Career Day on Flipgrid! Parents post a quick, fun video on what they do, their office, etc. students can watch in class and even reply! #FlipgridFever
A4: Every yr we hold Learning Walks for our Board Members @ every site in our district. This year @Flipgrid and our S voices were observed at every site! We even had BS members replying to Ts and Ss! It truly warmed my π. Anyone at any age can use @Flipgrid#FlipGridFever
Yes. But #FlipGridFever is soooo much better and modeling it for Ts would let them see this in action and encourage them to want to use this in their classrooms.
My students were rockstars. They took a chance on it and made it their own. I showed the basics. But they really made flipgrid the experience I had this year. Loved the results so much I went on to become a student voice ambassador ! #FlipgridFever#StudentVoice
A1: When I hear 2 days ago that it was completely free, I deleted my old grid and created a new one for next yrs class. We still have another week to go so I asked my 5th graders record a video telling the 4th graders what to expect next year. #flipgridfever
Iβll through a challenge out there for you all. I teach 6th grade math and 9th grade next year. If you want to connect, letβs do it. #FlipgridFever
Did you hear the new trend? #FlipgridFitness hahah I'll have to share my pics of me wearing my Student Voice shirt while tweet about Flipgrid #FlipgridFever
A5 Messages to their future selves to watch at the end of the year? Then make one of tips for the next class! My class wrote letters that we gave to the 4th graders to tell them about 5th. #FlipgridFever
#FlipgridFever A5:Build parent involvement/ engagement with Flipgrid! Last year I started the year with parents sharing a word of encouragement for their child for the school year at back to school night on our grid! Great way to engage them in the year ahead!
This year we used it as a welcome and sent to the author. Thinking about doing a pre for them, something to get them excited like a contest. Maybe the winners get to ask a question, eat lunch, etc. Thought doing a thank you or reflection to send to the author. #FlipGridFever
A5: Well its a great way for students to share ideas and tips on how they personally prepare for projects and tests and/or share information. #flipgridfever
You could even post the gridβs QR code outside your door if you are busy. Easy way for teachers to leave you a βmessage.β Hey @Whala25Katie this might be a fun idea for you next year?
A5: Use last year's grids & highlight some of the standout student responses ones to demo some really great student responses to model. I don't want to have cookie cutter responses like what they see but highlight some π response & creative @StudentVocieπ£ uses. #FlipgridFeverπ₯
Hey y'all I gotta jet!! Have a great night!!! Love y'all!!! @sdtitmas let me know how to get a copy of this then ok? Thanks y'all and good night!! #FlipgridFever

A1: in addition 2 having a "meet the staff" grid, we R creating a school-wide/grade level family grid w/ info on homework (yep- still have itπ) & including our interpreters 2 provide info in various π languages...& also serve as 2-way commun. π§ 4 families!!! #FlipGridFever
Super excited with how awesome @Flipgrid and the #FlipgridFever community has become! Sometimes I think back to the good old 90 second time limit of yester year. Excited to see what's in store next! #FlipgridLIVE
A5: I have sooo many ideas!! I would love to use Flipgrid to: 1. connect my parents, 2. invite the community to be guest speakers in videos for Career Day, 3. Continue to practice for TELPAS, 4. School wide shoutouts, 5. Student led announcements... #FlipgridFever

Plus @korytellers those awesome reflections you do in Forms, some of them could be done in @Flipgrid too, might get different type of responses #FlipgridFever
A4: I'm pretty proud of a lesson I planned with the newcomer teacher at one of my Middle Schools. These students are non-English speakers from all over the world. They actually introduced themselves using #flipgridfever and practiced their L&S skills. It was fun! #StuVoice
Time for a #shameless plug - I put together a little guide for the math folks out there, especially if you're new to #FlipgridFever
Would love your thoughts as well!

We have student led conferences for the second conference, but our first one isnβt. @Flipgrid could be a way to bring Ss into the first conference. #FlipgridFever
