Join the conversation to meet and learn from teachers all across the world using Buncee in their classroom. #Bunceechat will be held from 8:00 PM – 8:45 PM EST on the first Thursday of each month. Each chat, we’ll have a guest moderator open up a discussion with the community and share questions on the week’s topic.
Excited to be participating in the #bunceechat tonight. Love this creative team of friends. Ed Kemnitzer, Director of Tech and Innovation for the awesome @EastWillistonSD. Best part of my week so far was learning with so many great colleagues yesterday for Conf. Day.
Hi #Bunceechat! Kristin, from St. Augustine, FL. I'm an Ed Tech Coach for Flagler County Schools. Best part of my day was a Science/NonFiction Text lesson with a 3rd grade class! #FLEdChat
I’m Karina Quilantan, Middle School librarian with @PSJAISD! My favorite part of the week so far has been how useful @Buncee and our library databases have been with student projects! #BunceeChat@Buncee
Q1 - Student creativity is crucial to student success. When students are allowed to be creative, they blossom and their learning flourishes on a much deeper level. #Bunceechat
A1 - Student creativity is the vehicle for us to know our students' passions, talents, and perspectives on the world. When we give them the agency to create, they begin to shine #Bunceechat
A1 I think that creativity makes the work that our students do more memorable for them. It's also something that keeps them engaged, and gives them a greater stake and sense of pride in what they're doing. #BunceeChat
A1: When we allow students to be creative, to take risks, and share their voices, their work rises to the top. The best part about creativity is that it can be defined differently for each person. #Bunceechat
A1: Creativity is EVERYTHING! It's that aha moment, and the moment when we figure something out. Creativity definitely makes us feel excited and successful. #bunceechat#FLedChat
A1 Students express themselves - their thoughts, their views, their ideas - when we allow them to be creative. Without creativity, our classrooms become assembly lines of repetition. They're gray. #Bunceechat
A1 I think that creativity makes the work that our students do more memorable for them. It's also something that keeps them engaged, and gives them a greater stake and sense of pride in what they're doing. #BunceeChat
A1: creativity plays a role in risk taking- challenges the students to problem solve- explore many different options- and to explore ideas that are new and innovative to them individually- and then to share that creativity which inspires others #BunceeChat

Exactly! Innovation=Risk Taking and having a classroom that celebrates those risks is a place where students can learn to make mistakes and be excited to continue trying. #bunceechat
A1 - Student creativity is the vehicle for us to know our students' passions, talents, and perspectives on the world. When we give them the agency to create, they begin to shine #Bunceechat
A1: I believe giving the students choice will allow for creativity and greater student engagement. An engaged student is a successful student. #Bunceechat
We need our students in learn in beta. Creativity allows us to channel this idea that we are intended to try, to tweak, to fail, to think again, etc. #Bunceechat
A1 - YES, the process is so much more important than the product. If only we could make everyone see this. There is so much power in the process. #Bunceechat#growthmindset
A2. It begins with creating a culture of risk-taking and acceptance. Students have to know they're allowed - even encouraged - to express themselves in their work. #BunceeChat
A2: I have a line in my rubrics that says "Impress Me". Allows students to move beyond the minimum and provides them "permission" to be creative. #BunceeChat#FLedChat
A2: When starting a project, I told students to come up with an idea that they know nobody else would have. I learned that in a Gifted workshop, and found that it encouraged students to think outside the box and think of unique ideas. #bunceechat#FLedChat
A2 - I often challenge students to demonstrate their understanding through visual representations - graphics, skits, comics, even radio plays. #bunceechat
Q2 - Ooh...that's easy. I encourage students to be creative in my classroom by allowing them complete access to #Buncee on a daily basis. Allow them to open #Buncee and watch the #BunceeMagic happen! I
L♥️VE observing this daily! #Bunceechat
A2 Give them opportunity without much pressure, give them options, give them inspiration, give them tools (@Buncee, anyone?), help them learn to seek out role models and inspiration of their own.
#BunceeChat
A2: I think there has to be a culture of creativity built between T and S. If they see you taking risks...they will be more likely to take risks! Ss also have to be given the opportunity to be creative. #Bunceechat#culturize
A2: Asking Ss open ended questions about their work, sharing ideas that are outside the box, and praising independent and collaborative thinking. #bunceechat
A2: Reduce the specificity of expectations for the product! Too often we go into too much detail of what we expect in the end. Puts kids in a box. Let students be creative and decide on their own vision. #Bunceechat
A2: I have a line in my rubrics that says "Impress Me". Allows students to move beyond the minimum and provides them "permission" to be creative. #BunceeChat#FLedChat
A2. My students know they have options. I always tell them, I don't care if you "ride the bus, take the train, go by bus, or ride a bike" as long as we all meet up in the city! The "HOW" they get there is up to them. #BunceeChat
A2: encouraging creativity w/my Ss through choice- lots of visuals- "out of the box" inspiration- let them explore mixed media-combining technology with traditional art #BunceeChat

A2 We use Buncee to be creative for many purposes: Comics, stories, poetry, learning journals, math problems & journals, research projects, posters, SDG’s #Bunceechat

A2: I do this by pushing the norms past the point of frustration sometimes. By not always giving the answer that they want to have. & by asking what if! #BunceeChat
A2: I encourage creativity by offering choice in projects. Sometimes that’s how I learn about new tech tools, too. S ask to use something as they create. #bunceeChat
Love this Kristin. It's a great challenge for students to develop the unique. I've also seen this done as the "Bad Idea Factory" https://t.co/L3HqcNf4Y4#Bunceechat
A2 - So very true! You need that relationship built between you and your students in order for them to be ready and willing to be a Risk-Taker. As @TaraMartinEDU would say, "Cannonball in" together! #Bunceechat
A2: I think there has to be a culture of creativity built between T and S. If they see you taking risks...they will be more likely to take risks! Ss also have to be given the opportunity to be creative. #Bunceechat#culturize
A2 #bunceechat I try to leave activities open ended, for example, generating writing ideas from Ss own experiences and interests. I also ask for their ideas first and am open to using them. Anne LBlanc joining late from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, 🇨🇦 Grade 4/5 Teacher.
A2 I try to encourage them to be creative through constant affirmations about how all ideas need to be heard and shared...build that atmosphere of trust, respect and risk taking, and they will soar! #bunceechat
I love this Tammy! Basically, the challenge is to go beyond what the teacher thinks might be awesome. I tell kiddos you can ALWAYS exceed my expectations. :) #Bunceechat
A1: I think creativity allows for a much more even playing field -- students who may not shine in a traditional way have their chance to do so. They can be recognized for their gifts and talents that aren't as easily measured. #Bunceechat
A2: encouraging creativity w/my Ss through choice- lots of visuals- "out of the box" inspiration- let them explore mixed media-combining technology with traditional art #BunceeChat

A3: Just take a look at all of the categorized images in @Buncee! Give Ss a topic and say GO...see what they can create. This is so much better than a worksheet or MC test. #Bunceechat
So fun! And I love to see the students critique previous year's work or a set of images I've pulled from Google for sample ideas. We collectively make the criteria for success #Bunceechat
This story gives me the chills every single time... it is sooo amazing! It shows you when your student gets a tool that gets them, there voices come alive! #BunceeChat
A3: Wow...there is no way I can answer this question in the limited number of characters. Students shock me every time they log into @Buncee. Creativity, passion, engagement, unique, awesome. #BunceeChat
A3: So many ways!! They good design products to solve a problem and create their prototypes and ads in Buncee. They could write songs and record the audio. #Bunceechat#FLEdChat
A3 It's really easy for students to share their learning in Buncee, and the creativity side of things is nice for them, too because they can really all personalize their work so easily. They take a lot of pride in their constructions. #BunceeChat
Thanks, Sean! I appreciate that! We really enjoyed working with you! I hope you are enjoying an amazing year with your new fifth graders! 😊 #Bunceechat
A3: Ss can work independently w/soooooooo many design choices in the Buncee platform and w/the option to create and use their "voice" in a Buncee their creativity can soar!! #BunceeChat
A3: So many ways!! They can design products to solve a problem and create their prototypes and ads in Buncee. They can write songs and record the audio. #Bunceechat#FLEdChat
A3 Do you have a while?? @Buncee offers so so much to students. One of my favorite ways to use it is as a means of checking for understanding a lesson or concept by having Ss respond to a prompt. It might be a #booksnap or a review of a documentary we watched #bunceechat
YES, that's it! We have to be willing to "Cannonball in" right there with our students. When they see us willing...they are willing and ready as well! #Bunceechat
A2: One of the best ways to encourage creativity (in my experience) is to acknowledge that you (as the teacher/"expert") would have NEVER thought of something in that way. The more we celebrate the out-of-the-box thinking, the more likely students are to take risks. #Bunceechat
It's a very different group of fifth graders from yours, but I'm learning so much each day! I really love them, so everything else is unimportant. #BunceeChat
A2: Using a variety of edtech that can produce different products instead of pen and paper is an open door to creativity. Buncee, podcasts, Clips, and so much more are great outlets for creativity! #Bunceechat
A3 - Buncee is a great tool for a variety of products/performances - Infographics, photo journals, video reflections, PSA's, digital books, comics, and more. #Bunceechat

A1. Creativity allows our kids to figure out problems--including identifying them--and to save them in ways we may not have even forseen. We just have to be open to their thoughts. #BunceeChat
I agree! In French 1 I love to let my kids become film directors! 8th graders love nothing more than being goofy on the screen! And they haven't figured out that their creativity and expression is helping me to check their understanding of the language! #Bunceechat
A3 #bunceechat@Buncee gives the students so many resources to express themselves in different ways. They can show their leanrning visually, with words, verbally and more!
A2: I have a line in my rubrics that says "Impress Me". Allows students to move beyond the minimum and provides them "permission" to be creative. #BunceeChat#FLedChat
A3: Buncee offers a visually engaging platform for a student to demonstrate understanding. It speaks their language by using stickers, animation and text to create a product that their peers would appreciate. #Bunceechat
A4: @Buncee 3.0 allows for different canvas sizes. Each choice gives some ideas for uses of the particular canvas size. I encourage Ss to use Buncees as images and/or transitions in iMovie or Apple Clips. #Bunceechat
You can take a photo of a book within the Buncee creation canvas using your webcam and annotate it with text, stickers, audio and more #Bunceechat#Booksnaps
Q3 #Buncee in & of itself offers students open access to #creativity. It enables students to clearly visualize what they are learning in their own way using a variety of tools to share their learning. #Buncee just provides endless possibilities for student creativity. #Bunceechat
A3: I know we say to plan with the objective first, THEN the tool, but @Buncee can go both ways! I've had kiddos request to use @Buncee as their tool of choice (it does offer so much, visually) and Ss have also written or brainstormed and synthesized using Buncee. #Bunceechat
A4 - We've had students create Buncees to use for classroom-to-classroom Twitter Chats. The graphics are made in Buncee, saved as images, and Tweeted from the Teacher's Account. #Bunceechat
A4: I’m so excited to share this one because my Library Ambassadors helped me with this answer! Building on the previous post, the sky is the limit! These are some of our favorites! Choice boards, to target Ss multiple intelligences! #bunceechat@buncee🤩
A4: In the art room and digitial art class I am exploring w/them using Buncee for creating mixed media "positive affirmation posters" using the new "take photo" feature to photograph their artwork to use as a background in the Buncee #BunceeChat
A4: I think we should prompt students to develop their own #PLN and perhaps create their own @Buncee business cards to highlight what they geek out about. #BunceeChat
A4: In the art room and digitial art class I am exploring w/them using Buncee for creating mixed media "positive affirmation posters" using the new "take photo" feature to photograph their artwork to use as a background in the Buncee #BunceeChat
A4 My favorite bit is the new page sizes - they really allow for students to design brochures, one page study guides, ads, etc. My students have only started delving into the new features, but I'm seeing the benefits in the kids who have. #BunceeChat
A4: In the art room and digitial art class I am exploring w/them using Buncee for creating mixed media "positive affirmation posters" using the new "take photo" feature to photograph their artwork to use as a background in the Buncee #BunceeChat
A4: In the art room and "traditional art class" I am exploring w/them using Buncee for artist research using the new "take photo" feature to photograph their artwork to use as a background in the Buncee and create a "poster" of artist information to share #BunceeChat
A5 You can use Buncee’s you’ve created as backgrounds in Green Screen, as work flow in Seesaw and Newsletters in Google Class, Seesaw and Class Dojo #Bunceechat
A3. Slideshows, recording themselves explaining a concept or demonstrating a procedure, book talks, curating resources, really the possibilities are only limited by their imaginations. #FLedChat#bunceechat
A4: Different size canvases = more ways to communicate knowledge. Ss can create & print, or post to a class @instagram . When Ss have an audience, they're motivated to work harder. #BunceeChat
My organization with 70 students of -various- levels has played heck with my organization skills, but we're working on putting stuff together, I'll share sometime soon! #BunceeChat
A3: kids can use buncee for creative storytelling, journaling, note taking, and they have more creative options than a traditional notebook affords them! bunceechat
A5 Visual communication can bridge language and culture gaps so well. When students create to a prompt in two vastly different places, it can be a really special way for them to come together over a @SkypeClassroom call and share their work! #BunceeChat
A5: I saw this really cute thing on twitter about Ks giving the recess weather report. Ts can create buncee board and share globally about the weather in different countries that day. Will give S more options than just a video! #bunceechat
A4: Buncee’s photo and video options encourage self-expression as well as a check for understanding. It creates a deeply personal product that a student can be proud of. #Bunceechat
A4 I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface with the possibilities available with the new version of @Buncee And sometimes it is SO fun to see Ss figure something out all by themselves! And even better when they teach it to a peer! #bunceechat
A4. I'm thinking about some app smashing and having them create movies, perhaps some vlogging to share with the community the cool things they are doing at school. #fledchat#bunceechat
I feel exactly the same! I'm in deeper water than I'm used to, so I've been so much less systematic about how I've used Buncee this year. I'm sad because I know how much they like it! But we're working on stuff now... #BunceeChat
A4 - We've had students create Buncees to use for classroom-to-classroom Twitter Chats. The graphics are made in Buncee, saved as images, and Tweeted from the Teacher's Account. #Bunceechat
Speaking of Global Projects, Buncee Boards are great for our newest project that launched this week - Gingerbread STEM Community https://t.co/mucvYbpfuS#bunceechat
A5 We always use Buncee to create canvases for our global work on SDG’s and the Buncee Skype Collaboration projects on Peace and World Read Aloud Day 🌎✏️😀 #Bunceechat
