#stucentclass A1-Any time students are collaborating and problem-solving -STEAM style for me is the best recipe- in science and in any class really. Learner-driven activities.
A1 I'd totally want to see a school/grade write lyrics & choreo based on a theme of study. Maybe kpop, not disco. ;-) The next Hamilton? All from Ss interests. #stucentclass
A1 #stucentclass I like to see student interest driving the lesson ... this week the students started writing their own books as an extension activity.
My 7th grade science Ts teach the Ss the earth layers by using the song We Will Rock You. They've rewritten the lyrics to be...
Them layers, them layers, them Earth layers.
I love hearing this song coming from the rooms when I'm in the halls

#stucentclass A2-This week students could write a rap/song/parody about the Circulatory/Respiratory systems- then they shared. At the end, they had to clarify why the song definitely tied to the curriculum.
My night is about to get busy, so I have to duck out early. I'll try to check back afterward to catch up on all the groovy ideas :)
Goodnight #stucentclass
#stucentclass A3-To tie up the body systems is a great time for jigsaw b/c each group has a different body system then they come together to show how all of the systems connect.
#stucentclass I can really see using this for science and history ... bringing in the social aspect and reporting back to the group will raise engagement.
#stucentclass A4-It can backfire b/c students do not want to answer & students call on their friends- but if you model and set the tone for cooperation and community it works really well.
#stucentclass A4-The more I step back and put the discussion in the hands of my students- the more engaged they are. They feel in control and this sparks a more open and communicative discussion.
