A2: Student teaching w/ an amazing co-teacher was the best experience to prepare me to become an educator. She allowed me to fully control the classroom on my own, but was always supportive. Participate in as much as you can outside of school too!

A5: Observe & always ask questions. Get to know the students, faculty, & staff. Go to plays, sports games, & dances to fully experience the school & the students! Now is the best time to try out new lessons because of all the support you'll have!

A5. Since I am a preservice teacher, I would say my advice for any students coming into the program is that it's extremely important for you to take every opportunity to learn. Every moment in classrooms and in your own classes provides a moment to learn from. #gen2108#edumatch
For our spicy challenge, @SFecich challenges you to impact the education of a preservice teacher by signing up to be a virtual co-op. DM her for more details, and write "Done" on our Badgelist! https://t.co/uveajz6GtH#EduMatch

#EduMatch Q7- I use google calendars. This way I can have a minute by minute break down what my day looks like. This also helps when working with other teachers who want to network so I can just share my calendar with them.
RT edu_match: RT billiter_levi: #eduMatch#EduMagic A2: I think the providing students with a list of resources they can connect with after graduation is key.

A6. My love of learning came from great teachers I've had showing their love for learning. When a teacher is passionate about what they do, their students can feel that and reciprocate! So I would say being passionate instills love of learning! #gen2108#edumatch

Be real. Be honest. Get comfortable with making mistakes because you'll make them. You won't have it perfectly together from the get go. So give yourself grace. Also practice self care (body, mind, spirit) because the work can be challenging. #edumatch#edumagic#educhat

Twitter - such a great tool to connect w/other educators across the globe and keep the pulse of what's happening. The #PLN share tools, tips, resources, & there are so many great hashtags you can use to find a place of learning specific to what you need. #edumagic#edumatch
RT edu_match: Pre-order your copy of #digcitkids, edited by mbfxc and CurranCentral! The stories in this book highlight how learning together and talking with kids — not at kids — is something we all can do. https://t.co/eddkROzKba#EduMatch
That is the right mindset! Participate in everything! I would chaperone dances and trips and even worked a few basketball games. Find out if there are any fellow student teachers in your building too and get to know them!

I'm sure someone here as already mentioned Google Edu, vast with so much great stuff. But it's important for new teachers to know how and when to use the available tech tools, AND the 1st foundation is strong pedagogy/strategies. #edumagic#edumatch#educhat

Highly recommend preservice/new teachers add New Pillars of Modern Teaching by Gayl Allen to their library as it really hits the mark on what teachers need to be able to do in 21st century teaching/learning #edumagic#educhat#edumatch

Give yourself grace and compassion for the journey because you'll make mistakes. You won't be perfect, and that's okay. Be real. Be honest. Ask questions, REFLECT, REFLECT, and reflect more b/c it helps you refine your practice, to pinpoint your own needs. #edumagic#edumatch

Always keep learning too. 21st Century learning requires us to stay updated on not just technology but pedagogy and best practices. Build your #PLN. Get a mentor. Build a ProDev/ProLearn library. Go to a local #EdCamp or Edu conference. #edumagic#edumatch#educhat

Conversation & connection are key. Get to know their why & help them discover or rediscover it because it will help them when the going gets tough. Be a listening ear. Encourage them to build a #PLN and engage it. Again, be real & honest.
