A3 My goal is to share one positive thing from the school library every day via Twitter. The students love the replies from authors, who occasionally send us surprise gifts. #satchat
A3 It's vital to get the community involved in the school, but don't always ask for something. Invite them in to see the great things happening in your school and then ask for suggestions and support. #satchat
A3. We strive to get feedback from our students and parents (we listen) and then we use their ideas where possible to connect with our community. Also giving kids opportunities to lead empowers them and they take more pride in the school. #satchat
A1 authentically involve parents - I heard a novel idea recently / student led conferences really engage parents with their child / what if we encouraged parents to lead a conf about their child vs the teacher alone? What would we learn differently in that scenario? #satchat
We see a more positive turnout for grades 5 and 6 than we do at grades 7 and 8. I am still searching for the answer …. here to learn from all of the brilliant people here! #satchat
Know the community & be present. Listen when Ss & Ps talk about where they go, what’s important to them, or what they need. Then, go out into the community & make personal connections w/ local resources. Give a specific reason you want to build a relationship with them. #satchat
Q3: In #Culturize@casas_jimmy shares, "Average schools don't inspire greatness-& greatness is what our world needs if we are going to produce world-changing learners." What tip(s) can you share to develop productive relationships & engage community resources. #satchat#schoolPR
A3 Leave no stones unturned. Be open minded to everything. Use your network to find people and explore new possibilities! When trying to find resources you need to be BOLD! #satchat@dalstonEDU
#satchat A3 I am fortunate enough to live in the town where I #teach, and I am constantly aware of the understanding that #student success is something to which we are all connected.Their success is our success. We support fundraisers, we attend concerts and plays; so important.
Inspiring greatness is not teaching greatness, just as you can’t learn grit by doing longer worksheets. It’s all about the power of example and the freedoom to take risks. Leaders must allow teachers to take risk if they want teachers to allow students to take risks. #satchat
A3 I ensure to keep a line of communication open with my parents at all times. I am constantly sending home positive notes for student engagement and behavior as well as utilizing class dojo to send positive reinforcement messages #satchat
Yesss meet parents and students where they are. Don't assume they have the means to come to the school. Get out and be visible in the communities and in their neighborhoods #satchat
A3 Business partnerships can be formed by having an open mind about what it is they can do. Leave the invitation open to not just monetary support but volunteering time, using their expertise to support a school function or teaching about their expertise. #satchat
A3: Realizing we are not "just" teachers. We bring our culture with us, through our voice, through out positive actions. We can cause ripples, for good or for ill throughout classrooms, schools, and communities. #satchat
A3: schools have to be ever-present in the community and invite them into the schools to build relationships with families. I also think it’s important for teachers and admin. to have positive communication with parents first. Never start with negative phone calls home #Satchat
A3. We partner with local chefs and farmers during #F2SMonth, host shop and dine local events, & partner with a local bike shop which offers complimentary checks for kids and families on Walk and Roll to School Days @HopewellES#satchat
Q3: In #Culturize@casas_jimmy shares, "Average schools don't inspire greatness-& greatness is what our world needs if we are going to produce world-changing learners." What tip(s) can you share to develop productive relationships & engage community resources. #satchat#schoolPR
A3: I reject the notion that we need greatness from students in order for society to thrive. What we need is compassion, civility, & innovation. We don't need more exceptionality. We need to raise level of average to ensure that all have access to a quality education. #satchat
A3: Ask for feedback from parents after all events. Ask for ideas before planning events. Add polls to your school Facebook page for check-ins. #satchat

A3: We are focusing heavily of #GlobalAwareness in our schools this year with the intention and purpose of inspiring empathy and fostering relationships between our student and community, state, national, and global counterparts. #SatChat
A3: Sustaining success means finding continuous ways to push the envelope => as soon as we start accepting greatness we risk slipping to mediocrity #satchat
A3: We invite the community in for Homecoming, Back to School night, Community fitness programs, musicals, etc. The more the doors are open the more parents and the community will engage #satchat#schoolpr
Absolutely courtney! Too many parents only hear about what their child is doing wrong when in actuality they are doing sooo many positive things that are getting overlooked. #satchat
A3: schools have to be ever-present in the community and invite them into the schools to build relationships with families. I also think it’s important for teachers and admin. to have positive communication with parents first. Never start with negative phone calls home #Satchat
#satchat A3 Show your support in any way you can. Attend sporting events, drop off clothes at the clothing drive, shop where your #students work to let them know you are proud of their efforts.
On the parent end (and as a parent of 4), the middle grades get overwhelming. The factory model of moving from class to class begins, and as a parent I’m just trying to keep up with the grade portal and tracking 8 teachers instead of just 1. #satchat
A3: #satchat social media again for the win. Find where your community resources as stakeholders communicate. Our parents tended to be on instagram & FB - but our community resources tended to use twitter. Using all forms 2 put our needs out there & need 4 community resources.
Q4: @E_Sheninger & @trishrubin have written the book BrandED to help educators to tell their story, build relationships & empower learning. How does telling your story about your classroom/school/district & impact Ss, families & your community? #satchat#schoolPR#brandEDU
Hey, #Satchat! Q4: There is power and love in the classroom environment, we have to bring it to the public so that they understand just how amazing our #students and #teachers truly are. White Plains Public Schools: the educated choice https://t.co/73Lfkfo7Qc@TheBradCurrie
Ashle, digital learning coach from SC joining late. A1 As a district level employee I try to attend events at all 4 schools in my district. From sporting events to family nights, I try to get out there and meet new parents all the time. #satchat
A3: Reach out to the community, business and people in the area, ask parents if they know anyone who would be willing to help out at the school. We have community members come in to be "sponsors" for students. They can talk to them or redirect them in various situations. #satchat

Schools that sponsor hands-on nights for parents to learn from and with their children get great engagement and deepened understanding of why instructional approaches exist in schools from maker work to math strategies to project focus #Satchat
A3 #satchat I think I like what @msoskil is saying - "What we need is compassion, civility, & innovation" - I think that is greatness, or will create greatness

A3: Schools as mutually beneficial community resources => how can we find ways to make an impact beyond 8:00-3:00? Adult learning opportunities? Health clinics? Child care? #satchat
A3: We planned a whole community event for Ps & Ss around the ‘One School, One Book’ SEL Reading. We brought in food donated from local restaurants, displayed thematic art by Ss, S chorale performed & our local chapter of Ministry for Migrant Works presented. #satchat#schoolPR

One of my colleagues does an all call at Back to School Night to parents: If there’s anything about the work you do that could apply to ELA class, please let us know! This year we’re touring Audible studios in Newark thanks to a parent! #satchat
We've seeking this answer too. Student-led conferences are one way to build capacity and co-constructing goals for students, families, and teachers. We're not there yet, but we're making progress. Kids may hold the answer to how we can help parents re-imagine school. #satchat
A4- telling your story builds relationships with Ss and Ps. They know you are genuine and you care about them/their child. It builds rapport and relationships for years to come #satchat
Q4: @E_Sheninger & @trishrubin have written the book BrandED to help educators to tell their story, build relationships & empower learning. How does telling your story about your classroom/school/district & impact Ss, families & your community? #satchat#schoolPR#brandEDU
A4: I think telling your story invites honesty from the school and families. That open book image allows for all to feel comfortable having honest communication. It allows for human connection on multiple levels regarding education #Satchat
A4 Sharing your schools story and successes leads to positive community impressions and involvement. Great things your school is doing should be spread far and wide and shared with the community to build a positive image for your school. #satchat
A4 We have a school Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter account that shares lots of pictures and other information, but @SmorePages transformed our newsletter for the better. #satchat
A4: The story, or “brand” of your district is the thread that weaves the community together. Raising awareness of the vision, mission and purpose of the district gives folks understanding that often fosters greater support and involvement. #satchat
A4. Parents typically are not in classrooms daily or see staff PD - so use of SM (student vlog, blogs, pics, stories) strengthens the connections from home-community-school #satchat
Q4: The more I share what we are doing through social media (the district has Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and a website) the more parents and students will approach me with issues/questions. Parents want to SEE not just hear about what we are doing in class. #satchat
Q4: @E_Sheninger & @trishrubin have written the book BrandED to help educators to tell their story, build relationships & empower learning. How does telling your story about your classroom/school/district & impact Ss, families & your community? #satchat#schoolPR#brandEDU
A4 by telling your story it allows others to understand the world of education better. I feel as though people think being an educator is an easy profession; but time, dedication and a few tears are occur in our line of work. We want what’s best for our students #satchat
Love the circle here. Devices ARE a part of the strategy and also ONLY PART of the strategy. So consider the consequences of relying on them AND of placing restrictions on them. #SchoolPR#K12PRchat#SatChat
How can teacher leaders and administrative leaders partner to create and sustain positive, collaborative, and productive relationships with families

A3. It is a cliche (and something that people sometimes pay only lip service to) but focusing on students in the aggregate and as individuals is the best way to unify and align the efforts of all stakeholders of any learning community. #satchat
#satchat A4 I name my Ss every year. They have to live up to it. This year they are the Believers. They believe are chosen to be in our class and have a mission to support and believe in each other. My Ss come to me year after year sharing their memories & their class name.
A2 Some of our most successful family nights have been our STEAM Nights at 3 of the schools. I try to be be on the T teams responsible for planning these events to provide digital support and to help in any way possible. #satchat
Agreed! We are now in our third year of Student Led Conferences at the middle school level and we went from 25% of parents coming in to spring conferences to over 95%. #satchat
A4: I heard @JayBilly2 say that if you don’t tell your story, someone else will. What’s happening in our schools shouldn’t be a fill in the blank or choose your own adventure for the outside looking in. Control your narrative by being transparent and sharing #satchat
Q4: @E_Sheninger & @trishrubin have written the book BrandED to help educators to tell their story, build relationships & empower learning. How does telling your story about your classroom/school/district & impact Ss, families & your community? #satchat#schoolPR#brandEDU
A4: my nonprofit tells our story about the importance of teaching the child's mind WITH the heart at the same time. This impacts teachers and students positively as SEL becomes part of the daily curriculum instead of a stand alone add on. #satchat
Q4: @E_Sheninger & @trishrubin have written the book BrandED to help educators to tell their story, build relationships & empower learning. How does telling your story about your classroom/school/district & impact Ss, families & your community? #satchat#schoolPR#brandEDU
Telling the school or district story should be a priority because it provides families with a different level of access, engagement & partnership. Schools can no longer function as fortresses because if we don’t tell our story, someone else will! #satchat#HackingLeadership
A4: Telling your story lets those in the community know what it is like in your classroom and how you impact Ss and your community through teaching. It can also draw attention to the great things that are done in your classroom and community. #satchat
A4: #satchat If we don't tell our story, they fill the void with what little info they have (positive or negative) Constantly sharing the positive & challenging work & results from within helps add to the story they have made in their head.
A4 Parents, Ss and community get an inside view at the amazing things taking place! Ss and Ts are proud of their work and they’re excited to share! What a great conversation you can have with people about the innovative things you’re doing! #satchat
A4:Your brand is essential - more than telling a school story, it breeds interconnectedness and provides an identity for all stakeholders - something we built, together. #satchat
A3: Think long-term, as in generations. If the schools are aware of their own history, if the stories of the town are entwined with the school, your schools and your town will be seen as one.
PR is short-term, and self-serving. Stories belong to everyone #satchat
Awesome! My school @LISShines sends out monthly newsletters & shares frequently on Twitter too! It feels great to know parents, Ss, & Ts alike can access school involvement & positively so easily #satchat
A4 We have a school Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter account that shares lots of pictures and other information, but @SmorePages transformed our newsletter for the better. #satchat

Well said. We families often aren’t included in the stuff our kids are the most—the teaching and learning they experience every day. Do we think of asking “Explain how you teach x?” Are teachers and administrators eager and prepared to answer? #ptchat#FamEngage#SatChat
One of the keys to being welcoming & approachable to our families is by being transparent! Transparency around curricular decisions; transparency around instructional practices; transparency about what we stand for & what we believe in! #HackingLeadership#Satchat
Q4: Telling our school’s story gives the school a name, face, & purpose. It focuses on the positive. It allows parents & community members to know what’s going on when they’re not in our building. It allows Ss to feel proud about what they’re doing each day. #satchat

A3 We have an event where business leaders from the community tour all 4 of our schools. Not only do they see the amazing thing our Ss our doing, but they give us feedback as to what world-class skills they think Ss need to be successful when they leave school. #satchat
A3: Address concerns right away and reach out to local groups from families to grant providers or other educators for advice/assistance. My school has received two major grants because the leaders recognized an issue and requested help/collaboration. #satchat
A4. I always viewed Twitter and Facebook as an opportunity to ahare the many special moments—big and small—that I experience every day as a school leader. By using this lens, it has become an important tool for families to begin to know me #satchat
A4: Parents and other community members want to be involved in what is going on in the schoolhouse and social media is a great way of inviting them in! #satchat#smsraidernation#WeAreBirdvilleISD

A4: I don’t necessarily think “my story” is all that important. I’m here to help create “our” district story which includes admin, parents, Ss, Ts, staff, etc. The focus is where we are going together & how we are giving back within our community/globally. #satchat#allin4NB
Telling your story effectively requires reaching across multiple platforms -print, digital, social media and face to face and also in multiple languages as needed. #satchat
I love this because it points out that we can control the message. If we don't tell our story or integrate with the community then we're not involved in what's being said, positive or negative... #satchat

A5: 1 thing that I have been trying to do to help community understand a new vision for learning is modeling the belief in others' learning that we want for student learning. That and sharing that vision as often as I can with whoever I can #satchat
A5: I am going to listen and learn from experienced administrators to create my own innovative frame of reference. I will also spend time collaborating with my awesome colleagues to develop and share our vision. @noyi@DMastroG4#satchat#schoolpr#allin4NB

A4 I send out a biweekly newsletter with recurring subheadings: "For Consideration", "In Our Classrooms", and "Past Conversations" with cited research, articles, blog posts, as well as in-class photos of students and teachers interacting/applying related concepts. #satchat
In reply to
@dalstonEDU, @E_Sheninger, @trishrubin
A5. Learning must be different for our current kids (compared to past) as it must be engaging, rigorous, relevant to prepare them for changing world. But it starts w/ kindness, relationships and positivity. #satchat
Q5: I would really like to do a spotlight on my school weekly in our local paper. I work in a small district; sharing what students have been doing within the school wall's during the week helps with communicating the positive activities students are engaged in. #satchat
A4: I heard @JayBilly2 say that if you don’t tell your story, someone else will. What’s happening in our schools shouldn’t be a fill in the blank or choose your own adventure for the outside looking in. Control your narrative by being transparent and sharing #satchat

Yes! It’s great because (a) it’s at night, so it’s more accessible to kids in day camp and parents who work during the day; (b) it involves a community partner (I’m married to a public children’s librarian who’s very busy in the summer!); and (c) it’s a movie, man! #SatChat
A4: The level of transparency you choose goes hand and hand with building trust. There is nothing more vulnerable than “opening our doors” but by doing so we are encouraging conversation, connection, and growth #satchat

Thinking and acting longterm when telling our school stories is KEY! Our stories must include everyone and the larger collective in our communities for everyone to move forward together. #satchat
YES!!! Couldn’t agree more. Our Mass Media Teacher @Yimbo5 is trying to do the same thing with our morning announcements and by having students create documentaries. #satchat
A4: I don’t necessarily think “my story” is all that important. I’m here to help create “our” district story which includes admin, parents, Ss, Ts, staff, etc. The focus is where we are going together & how we are giving back within our community/globally. #satchat#allin4NB

A5 21st century skills have to be an essential focus of learning. Building those skills throughout the curriculum and including them in instruction on a daily basis will create learning opportunities that transform your classroom. #satchat
A5: #satchat All #stakeholders have to be involved in developing the vision and understanding the need for change, the data, etc. Only then do they fully embrace and help move the vision forward! #vision#innovation#involvment
A3 “When families, community groups, business & schools come together to support learning, students achieve more in school, stay in school longer, and enjoy the experience more” - Brendan O’Keefe @insightguy@edutopiahttps://t.co/zhs25AKnB4#satchat
A1: Standing outside the door in the morning greeting Ss. Asking Ps which method of communication works for them- most prefer tech. Inviting Ps to class activities!
Our principal @MelissaKrieger2 is a gr8 role model for this. #satchat#schoolPR
@NPBEA1 Standard 8: Effective #eduleaders engage families & the community in meaningful, reciprocal, & mutually beneficial ways to promote each Ss' academic success & well-being. How are you approachable, accessible, & welcoming to families & your community? #satchat#schoolPR
A3 We have an event where business leaders from the community tour all 4 of our schools. Not only do they see the amazing thing our Ss our doing, but they give us feedback as to what world-class skills they think Ss need to be successful when they leave school. #satchat
A5: I think it is important for me to get out more in the community and go to our community night events more frequently to show them the face of educators today. It is very different from the past I believe #Satchat
A4: Sharing my classroom story through weekly newsletters informs Ps on how much the #ELL Ss have worked on as well as establishes a sense of pride for the Ss to see how much they accomplished. #satchat
A4 social media is part of mainstream communication & our parents especially of elem aged children are a SM generation .. schools and Ts who share what’s going on via FB, texts, twitter, IG make the day accessible - but we have to be careful abt use of images too #satchat
A5 I’m going to find more ways to reach people. Your vision for learning can’t be supported if no one knows what it is. Finding multiple ways to connect with people is my mission! #satchat@dalstonEDU
A5: In developing a new Strategic Plan we invited the entire community, BOE, Admin, Ts, Ss, parents, local community members, to participate in the process-through which we collaboratively defined the vision and purpose of our district. #SatChat
I've never thought of doing this with middle school; I think this would really help my kids too! We're struggling to motivate them to join the workforce once they graduate. #satchat
A4 I use Twitter to tell the story of my schools from my view point. I want the community and others to know the innovative things our Ss and Ts are doing in our district! We have so many positive things going on I want to promote them. #satchat
A5: Be visible and support district initiatives, inform stakeholders, be enthusiastically positive, if we are not the change we wish to see, who will be? #satchat
A4. I always viewed Twitter and Facebook as an opportunity to ahare the many special moments—big and small—that I experience every day as a school leader. By using this lens, it has become an important tool for families to begin to know me #satchat
Q4: Telling our school’s story gives the school a name, face, & purpose. It focuses on the positive. It allows parents & community members to know what’s going on when they’re not in our building. It allows Ss to feel proud about what they’re doing each day. #satchat
A5 Maker activities in the library might be a challenge to teachers who reflexively shush students as they enter what can be a noisy busy place these days. #satchat
A5 This is one of the goals of our strategic plan. We are doing our best to have more of a presence at community events to share and celebrate our school story. #satchat
A5: I feel like social media allows parents to see learning in action. Also, our new super this year has several initiatives to build community pride. #satchat
Our local district did a maker fair in the evening engaging older students mentor younger ones. They used gym, library and various classrooms. #satchat
Thanks for sharing. Sounds like an opportunity to share concerns too, and even just curiosities... as a parent I don’t always understand the school’s or teacher’s philosophy about homework. #SatChat
A5: I am leading a Family & Community Engagement committee this year. One of our goals is to thoughtfully invite families & our community into our school more so they can teach us & we can teach them. The best way to help others understand is by showing them firsthand. #satchat
Q4: Telling our school’s story gives the school a name, face, & purpose. It focuses on the positive. It allows parents & community members to know what’s going on when they’re not in our building. It allows Ss to feel proud about what they’re doing each day. #satchat
A5: We will be holding community meetings, an #edtech night and sending a survey to share our ideas and gather community input and support for our (district and community) vision of learning. #satchat
Oh.. I've been using the @seesaw app the past 2 years & it's a great way to help parents that can't be in the school connect to what their children are doing during the day & what they are learning. They can post comments to their child about their work. it's great! #satchat
A5: well, as an ELA Supv I might be a bit biased, but I’m going to try to build up the culture of reading in my district. There are so many ideas, innovations, and trends in education, so much of which I love. But in the end, nothing trumps kids who read #satchat
A5: I will use my #bilingualism to promote PTA/evening events for my Ss’ families in hopes of helping them understand our goals for the Ss as well as having them become an integral part of the Ss learning process. #satchat
In both MS and Elem schools I’ve taught in, fundraising has been a major source of collaboration & productive relationships w families. One particular fundraiser that really stands out is the Fall Carnival at #EHcommUNITY#satchat#schoolPR#WeAreRoslyn
How can teacher leaders and administrative leaders partner to create and sustain positive, collaborative, and productive relationships with families
and the community for the benefit of students? Share an example you are proud of in your school/district. #satchat#schoolPR
A3 Encourage schools to seek out community events to participate in. By actively participating in the community (away from the campus) it makes school more inviting to people who might otherwise be intimidated #satchat
A5. I think educators sometimes have a hard time clearly explaining how they will improve their districts because they are using jargon to avoid having to get to the essentials of what will happen and who will do what. Simple language is the key to all living the plan. #satchat
A6. We have eco-conscious students @HopewellES. In our cafeteria we’ve removed plastic straws & are transitioning from single use water bottles to spring water infused w/ our own veggies/herbs. Students recently addressed town council to reduce plastic bag use in town #satchat
Our schools invite families and the community to cool events like multicultural nights, STEmerdays, fairs that share PBLs, and parent talks on a regular basis... #satchat
A6: Our BNN (Byram News Network) allows students to create the positive messages throughout our school. One student had a passion for star wars and created his own game show involving Ss, Ts, and even the principal. #satchat
A6: We include Ss in our tech decisions. It is amazing to hear the insight and passion that Ss can bring to those discussions. Looking to create further opportunities for Ss to share their passions #satchat
A5: Well it isn’t exactly a new thing for me...but I am persistent in my pursuit of what I value! And I can only hope my actions speak my heart. #satchat

Q4: Telling our school’s story gives the school a name, face, & purpose. It focuses on the positive. It allows parents & community members to know what’s going on when they’re not in our building. It allows Ss to feel proud about what they’re doing each day. #satchat
A5 First year as director: Immediately changing the focus of faculty meetings (~10 min overview of what's coming, rest of meeting as school-relevant PD), pushing out biweekly (aforementioned) newsletter, & trying to observe/learn quickly to bring stakeholders on board. #satchat
A3: Every day there are countless missed opportunities. It’s those opportunities that will fill our cup & keep our passion & purpose alive. Engage others w/a simple greeting, a heartfelt thank you, a kind gesture or a “How are u doing today?” Fill your tank. #satchat#culturize
A6: I’m just beginning to take steps in this journey by having Ss participate in a Wonder Wall that leads to Genius Hour/Passion project explorations. Just this week Ss made their first @Flipgrid reports on Genius Hour discoveries to share with our school! #satchat

It really is a good way to connect! Good point! The chat feature is nice too. I used that a lot when I was in the classroom (without sharing my number). #satchat
A5: I am leading a Family & Community Engagement committee this year. One of our goals is to thoughtfully invite families & our community into our school more so they can teach us & we can teach them. The best way to help others understand is by showing them firsthand. #satchat
A6: Our art teacher has her students create art that has been used to decorate our auditorium foyer. She also has students doing art projects on business fronts downtown. Our community has loved watching our students take an active role in sprucing up our town. #satchat
A6: Our Ss need to be able to share their plan for improving the world with the community and beyond. Here is a documentary one of our 6th graders created last year with the help of @yimbohttps://t.co/3w6WMdiVss#satchat
A6: providing opportunities to work on curricular projects that positively affect their local community not only empowers but also ignores purpose & passion in our Ss. #satchat
A6: Our BNN (Byram News Network) is created and produced by our 8th graders and sent out to everyone homeroom to play first thing in the morning. It is now also on our website and Facebook page for the world to see. Check it out here: https://t.co/PVyZAiUYK1#satchat
A5: I feel like social media allows parents to see learning in action. Also, our new super this year has several initiatives to build community pride. #satchat
A6 continued: Our ag classes also grow garden produce plants and sell them as a fundraiser. They then wrote and received a grant for a state of the art greenhouse which a local business helped build. Watching the community support this initiative has been amazing! #satchat
You have to involve community in the way they learn - there are many paths to that including but not limited to media -how do kids, Ts & you help parents learn abt why change & begin 2 invest in a shift in practice or policy or philosophy? It’s story that moves ppl #SatChat
C&I newsletter to staff is a great idea for highlighting updates, shout outs to awesome teachers, and providing resources @keirascussa26#satchat#allin4NB#schoolpr
A1: In our district we promote academic success in a # of ways. A few include:
1. C and I Newsletters to faculty each month
2. Newsletter to faculty from Sup each month
3. Quarterly community newsletter
4. Title 1 Stakeholder meetings
5. Community meetings

As students left for Fall Break we posted to our schools social media accounts pictures of the books we are reading over break & asked parents to share what their students are reading. Examples of us reading is so much better than reading logs requiring students to read. #satchat
A6: #satchat We were launching a #green#oasis component for our #STEM lab & I needed a visual or graphic 2 help get the word out, so I asked one of our student artists. She asked me questions & created a student art piece I could make into a jpg for our logo for the #oasis
A6: We have been working hard to celebrate our Ss & give them a voice. I recently met with reps from each of our classes to create a school constitution that they’ll be sharing with the whole school at an assembly. Their visions for our school led to their decisions. #satchat
THAT'S THE END OF #satchat FOR TODAY

Thank you 🙏🏻 moderators for such insightful & thought-provoking questions! Will be reading through chat again tonight #satchat#schoolPR
A6. Our school started a OOTM club last year, made it to World Finals and placed 6th! School board and community at large help finance their trip to Iowa. Life changing event for our kids! They shared a video of their trip w/board when they returned! #satchat
Thanks for the brain boost #pln!! I used @TweetDeck for the first time and it was awesome for helping me organize my thoughts in between Q’s. #satchat#allin4NB
A3: as my 5 year old nephew was taught by his kindergarten teacher, we can be bucket fillers or bucket dippers. What do we want to be? We want to fill each others buckets not dip into others’ buckets. #satchat
A6: @WeAreMPSD 20Time for our Ss allows them to choose a coach, identify a societal problem, endure the iterative process, develop a prototype, conduct a TED style presentation, and have their voice heard by the larger community. #FutureReadyNJ#satchat
Thank you #satchat peeps for getting my day energized. Didn't even need that second cup of coffee, when you are reading, typing and having light bulbs go off that fast! Have a #KidsDeserveIt week! #principalsinaction
A6: I will be providing students a venue to share their Passion Projects (Genius Hour Work) with the staff and community this year. I’m excited to see the outcome! #SatChat
The need to focus on the best interests of students/players applies to athletic organizations or groups that work with students in the arts. The best example I know of is @Fury__Girls—a AAA hockey club that values players as individuals while developing them as athletes. #satchat
"The goal isn't to be a 'real man'—it's to be a decent adult human being, who also happens to be male.
This is much more valuable to the world, and yet far more difficult—which is why so many men are unable to attain it."

A6: This week we had our 1st "Recent Alumni with a Cool Job" speak to our HS students.
Our students loved the K9 Cop's inspirational stories & asked great questions. #satchat
