A2 Some Ts may feel nervous to show their vulnerability in front of ss. Ts can try viewing videos of some https://t.co/uUbFN6jFtU lessons that are short and simple that they can try #UrbanEdChat
A2: If we don't know how to do it, don't have the time to learn due to the demands or we arent interested in learning that takes a toll. Offer Trainings, Show the connection and relevance and make it easy for teachers. let them feel success #UrbanEdChat
A2 Just like with all Technology related initiatives, small changes can have big impacts...Incorporate into all lessons...#HourofCode is awesome for this #UrbanEdChat
A2 @JV_lack you're right....look at you're scope and sequence, look at your lesson plans and start making connections. This morning I also said you can start by using coding as a brain break activity! #UrbanEdChat
A3 We want to promote equity among all ss. Computer science exposes ss to career that they never even thought of or haven't created yet. Exposing ss to this can also help promote diversity in companies. #UrbanEdChat
Because sS social economic status has nothing to do with what they are truly capable of. don't hold back from ANY student. The greatest idea could come from the "Hood" too! How can we know if we don't expose CS to everyone #UrbanEdChat
A3.1 Computer Science is an awesome way to be creative and expressive while problem solving...It can be an outlet all Ss use for expression #UrbanEdChat
A4 We blend technology use in classrooms with instruction. We can do Skype or Hangouts with professionals that relate to a particular content #UrbanEdChat
A5 There are unplugged lesson out there for Ts and Ss to try. Ts can think of puzzles to create. Ts can also use the limited tech that they have in their room as stations. BYOD is also an option. #UrbanEdChat
A6 Since tech and online usage are the ss norm they need to understand creating a digital footprint and watch Ts model digital citizenship usage. #UrbanEdChat
A6 Because Ss sometimes have availability to other tech outside of school...It's a responsibility to equip them on best practices for using it #UrbanEdChat
A5: Using Stations. Code. org has some resources you can do without using technology. Use the smart board as a station, if you have one IPAD or students may have a phone. everyone may not have a fancy device, but we have something and can make it do what it do #UrbanEdChat
A6 Because Digital Citizenship is real life and everyone's responsibility to teach this information. we need productive and responsible digital citizens especially today #UrbanEdChat
A6: With technology being ever-present in our world, it is imperative that we provide Ss with knowledge, skills and resources on using tech as a learning tool and appropriate screen/chat etiquette #UrbanEdChat
A8 I plan on just continuing to blend technology instruction with my ss and ts with their content. Promoting the 4Cs with my learners will help them feel more comfortable with using tech in classroom #UrbanEdChat
