#1stchat I'm not a teacher yet but I do work in a kindergarten class room at at daycare and have noticed the students becoming more comfortable with one another along with an increased attention span.
I am currently helping as a volunteer at my local elementary school. So far I've noticed that the students have gotten better with the morning routines.

I would like my students to acquire social skills while working with other students. I would help them achieve this goal by having the students work in groups frequently. I also would love for my students to be able to read a book and be able to comprehend the book. #1stchat
A2: The top 3 skills I want my students to acquire this year is reading strategies, problem-solving skills, empathy. I will help my students by modeling strategies, being positive about things that may not go right, and model how to care for others every day. #1stchat
I completely agree with your three top skills especially kindness. I will do my best to show my students how to treat others with respect. #1stchat#ed254
The dojo portfolios are super easy. I use Dojo for behavior, communication, class story, big ideas, and now portfolios. My kids are already posting on their own. We just have to revisit their purpose-not just pics of friends. #1stchat

A3 talk to them ask them what goals they have guide them don’t tell them get to know them their strengths and what they want to get better at. I am working on this so easy to just tell them thier goal but that’s not what they always need #1stchat
A3: I made a data book that the Ss color in as I benchmark things and I ask them what they want to reach by next time. At the end of the day I'm trying to have a reflection time to talk about the day to teach what reflection look like #1stchat
A3: I am constantly asking open-ended questions to encourage them to think about how things could be done differently or be expanded upon. We have set grade-level goals that are easy for students to measure. #1stchat

A3: At the start of each school year, I will ask each student what they hope to learn by the end of the year or by the end of the chapter and we will meet frequently to see if the student is on the right path to reaching their goal. #1stchat
I have tried to be very intentional with what our objectives are and why we are learning each center and why we are doing what we are doing. This is new for me, #1stchat
