I'm Natasha Rachell and I'm so excited to host this month's #squirrelschat !!! My favorite dish besides the mac and cheese would be my mom's apple, sage, and sausage stuffing! The smell alone brings back tons of memories!

It is so difficult for me to pick my favorite Thanksgiving dish because let's be real, I love it ALL. A few contenders would have to be: pumpkin pie, my grandma's recipe for stuffing that my mom makes and of course mashed potatoes. YUM! ๐ย #squirrelschat
A1: Becoming an educator was a second career for me. I left the world of retail management & took a $30,000 paycut to become a teacher. I've never looked back. Being able to make a difference and help inspire kids and teachers every day...there's NOTHING better! #squirrelschat
A1: My kindergarten and 1st grade teachers inspired me to be like them plus I naturally loved working with children. I guess I was "called" to do this work. #SquirrelsChat

One of the things that drew me to education was the fact that I could impact student lives without having to be a traditional classroom teacher. I didn't see myself in front of a class, but I did find that I could share my love of higher ed in different ways #squirrelschat
They were kind, firm and seemed to have all the answers. I was impressed and fascinated by them and wanted them to be impressed by me too. #SquirrelsChat

Q2: Name a teacher that had a significant impact on you. What did they do that made you feel special? Have you contacted them over the years to let them know how they've impacted your life! If not, DO IT!!! #squirrelschat@Squirrels ๐ฟ
What a wonderful memory of your teachers from early years. I love hearing stories of impactful educators and I am happy to have educators like you in the world. #SquirrelsChat
A2: Mrs. Kay Farish (english๐) and Mr. Harold Acord (spanish)! They not only taught, they TRUELY CARED about all of their students! They took the time to get to know me and really made me believe in myself! I've since shared this impact with both of them! #squirrelschat ๐ฟ
A2: Ms. Kimborough and Ms. Villa from Shadowlawn ES in Miami, FL. They were beautiful, kind, and intelligent. I don't know where they are or if they're in teaching still. #SquirrelsChat
When I was in school there was no way I wanted to go to college, let alone teach. So I do not have a teacher that made a lasting impact on me. But now I have a Masters in Educational Leadership and I do what I can to help teachers everyday. #SquirrelsChat

A2-Dr. Sales, a science methods professor in college. I had such fun in his class! I saw what engaging lessons can mean to students. I still remember everything I learned in his class! #SquirrelsChat
At first, because I wanted to coach Wrestling. Now, because I want to help our youth along their journey on this RollerCoaster we call life! #SquirrelsChat

A2: Mrs. Burrell (5th gr) & Mrs. Secor (8th gr) inspired me. They were caring & made school fun. I was able to tell them when I became a teacher. #SquirrelsChat
There were at least a dozen educators I connected with in college that helped me see I wanted to work with college-aged students. I can't thank them all in one tweet, but I have thanked them in person. They helped me see a job I didn't even know existed! #squirrelschat
The teachers that keep us going no matter what are the ones who stick with us. Glad you had a teacher who took the time to motivate and care! #SquirrelsChat
A3: There are several!
@oprah "What I Know For Sure"
@thehateugive "The Hate U Give"
Randy Pausch "The Last Lecture"
Paulo Coelho "The Alchemist"
All of them taught and reiterated those little nuggets and whispers that contribute to my life's mission and vision. #squirrelschat
A3- โhave a little faithโ by Mitch Albom. A parent gave it to me for Xmas one year. I laughed, I cried and learned more about myself. I try and read again every summer! #SquirrelsChat
That is a tough question. That I donโt even know how to answer. The book Iโm reading now is Illuminate and it talks about how to integrate technology into the classroom. Great book. #SquirrelsChat
I second "The Hate U Give" -- it was one of my favorite books I've read in a long time. It's a must-read for young adults as they start to make sense of the world around them. #SquirrelsChat
It's going on 6 years old, but I stand by Kid President! I showed this in class, during trainings, and anywhere people needed a pep talk. Hey, I even watched it on my own when I needed a boost, too! https://t.co/v8iFHfDQXH#squirrelschat
A4: Ok, no joke. Baby Monkey (backwards on a pig). I love to use it for talking about being picked up when we are down. Smiles change lives. https://t.co/8gn1xcpiYe#SquirrelsChat

*A general to-do list
*My top 5 "must do" items
*Professional Development section
*Gratitude section
*Affirmations section
I highlight the items on my to-do and "must do" lists as I complete them! #squirrelschat ๐ฟ

Baby Monkey holds on, the pig carries the monkey.
