A1: Donita Hinckley, SLDS Trainer for GADOE. I love to talk with school tech folks and teacher librarians - they always have something new to share! #TECHtalkGA
Hey, #TECHtalkGA and welcome!
I'm Angela, your "host", Dist ITS for MS/HS in Forsyth Co + online French 1 T.
When I need motivation, focus, etc., I turn to my PLN or a variety of Spotify "focus" playlists.
A1: mike, dir of tech in Calhoun. I get from a variety of places. @TEDTalks, @EdcampUSA, podcasts, but a teachers classroom is pretty special. #TECHtalkGA
Hi, Clint Winter Instructional Technology Coordinator for @ElbertCoSchools. For inspiration I like to read or hear things that are not necessarily from my point of view or that I agree with. #techtalkga
A1: Deborah. Media and tech specialist at Dawson County HS. Edu books, my PLN, this Chat, GAETC all keep me going with passion and perseverance #TECHtalkGA
A1: I'm Heather Morin, library media specialist from Pine Grove Middle School in Valdosta, GA and I turn to my @glma peeps for inspiration and motivation!! #TECHtalkGA
A1: Askia Jackson here! ITS in Bryan County. Still on a @FETC high and am grateful for my @BryanCoSchools techies and media specialists for the motivation me and collaboration! #TECHtalkGA
A2: Several things that I am working on right now. We're getting ready for @edcampGA, long term planning and budgeting and getting the most out of our chromebooks #techtalkga
#TECHtalkGA A2: Currently currently, I'm working on a reflection "lesson" that leads Ts to reflect on online lesson design.
Otherwise currently, I'm finalizing my dissertation proposal. 😱
A1: Jenelle #forsythpln K-5 Media, Research and Tech (specials and media center) #TECHtalkGA I turn to co-workers, @dbc_inc books, twitter chats, FB groups, --- my ever-expanding PLN motivates me!!
A2: I LOVE the pineapple chart idea I learned about at GAETC 2 years ago but I failed to get it to catch on last year and haven't tried again yet but I really love the concept. Would love some suggestions and input! #TECHtalkGA
A3: it’s important to gather meaningful Information in one place for stakeholders to be informed. The other is important because soft skills of speaking, listening, respecting, collaborating, are also skills needed in a digital world. #TECHtalkGA
A3: It's important to me because it's important to my teachers. They need help to incorporate digital writing opportunities so helping them help their students is what I'm here for. #TECHtalkGA
A3: in any school, the media specialist is there to serve all patrons. Empowering them as leaders and recognizing their expertise helps everyone! #TECHtalkGA
A3: we as Ts can learn so much from watching each other but so few have ever gotten to do it beyond student teaching that it has become "normal" and Ts are hesitant to try it #TECHtalkGA
A3: My students LOVE breakouts, so I want to have more readily available (they take so long to create!) I am also excited at the challenge of @GoogleForEdu certification #lifelonglearner#techtalkga
Ahh! Were you there too??
We need to do a better job at meeting next year when we're in Miami!
So far, I know that I was there (#FETC) , plus @apsitjen, @Mrs_Bongi, @crazymrst ...who else from #TECHtalkGA?
In reply to
@AJacksonRHES, @fetc, @BryanCoSchools, @apsitjen, @Mrs_Bongi, @crazymrst
A3: @edcampGA is important because it may open eyes to try something you may not think is possible. Budgeting is important because we need to be mindful of how and what we are spending. Long range planning is important because you want to sustain what is being built #TECHtalkGA
A4: Truth? I'm not sure...I have seen so many struggles this year and heard so many people share how disheartened they feel. It's a tough season. #TechTalkGa
A4: Two breakouts happening right now -- cells and Westward Expansion.. not my best, but the students are loving the challenge. I tied in some research standards, so they aren't experts - but have the tools to find the right answer. #techtalkga
#TechTalkGA A4: Potty PD has been well received in my building and in one other building on the other side of the county. People seem receptive when I talk with them about EdCamp, but they typically don't want to give up part of a Saturday in order to attend.
For sure...we all need help. That's why I love this group: we may be small and isolated in our districts, but I can always turn to to you guys!
#TECHtalkGA
A4: I'm learning to celebrate the little things. I've been able to create more in the last couple weeks. We've had a major virus on some machines so I am consumed with repairs & not seeing my Ts and Ss as I used to. So creating the #hyperdoc has ben amazing! #TECHtalkGA
A4: our Ts have done great being brave and innovative integrating tech in our first 1:1 year. It takes so much hard work and courage to break out of your teaching style comfort zone! #TECHtalkGA
A5: Teacher buy-in!! I don't know how to get teachers to try new innovative tools or activities. I know they have their systems but I want them to get that it's not "another thing" it is just like the strategies they already use! #TECHtalkGA
#TechTalkGA A5: I'm having trouble getting someone at each school in the district to post my Potty PD documents in their restrooms. The easiest approach would be to distribute the documents to media specialists and have them post the documents in their restrooms.
My school is only 2nd & 3rd grade. I usually don't introduce Hyperdocs until after Christmas. I usually try to do a @Screencastify of me modeling how to navigate it. Then I put that in Google Classroom so they can always reference it if they get confused. #TECHtalkGA
#TECHtalkGA A5:
I'll be super-honest and say that I would *love* to "pass off" as many of these chats as I can until May, when I defend my EdD proposal.
If you have an idea for a chat, submit it! I'm taking up suggestions as much as I can for my own sanity.
A5: I need connect time. I literally have to schedule it. Learning to set boundaries and say no and yet to care for my personal needs... A great PLN helps! Thank you! #TECHtalkGA
Great chat tonight, #TECHtalkGA! Thanks to everyone who participated!
Fill out the form below to make sure you get tagged as a reminder next week, if you haven't already!

#TECHtalkGA A2: Currently working on my #GoogleEI project. Will be attempting to get a student-run #podcast off the ground in the next few weeks. Ready to #failfast, accept feedback, and #pivot!
A5: Stretching myself to try new tools. I get comfortable using tools that are out of the majority of teachers' comfort zones, but I need to push myself and my students. #techtalkga
#TECHtalkGA A3: It's important to me because a) going through the #designthinking process is the hardest thing I've done as a teacher, and b) I want to give my Ss new ways to tap into research, connect with experts, and publish their findings!
#TECHtalkGA A4: I have really been putting myself out there, reaching out to so many experts in the field, and connecting with anyone who is into podcasting. (Here's looking at you @itsleegreen...hoping we can connect at #EdTechTeam summit in a few weeks!)
#TECHtalkGA A5: I have no clue how to expand my project beyond this singular science project. Not sure how to make a space for it in a small school...and I still need experts in hydropower and wind power to chat with my kids...anyone got connections?
