Hey everyone! Brienne in Pittsburgh. This is my 5th year in education and I currently teach special education. I'm formerly of ADW and I'm super excited to join you guys again tonight!
#adwteach
A1: PD, PL, PPD, PLN, PLC all have their strengths and weaknesses but it really comes down to how that time is being spent? Are we focused on helping teachers and students grow? Are we focused on new learning? #adwteach
A1: are you asking which we prefer? What it means to us? I feel like we need to expand beyond our regular PD and really try to connect more with other educators. #ADWteach#ADWteach
A3: wow, since I'm still a "new" tweeter, I follow a lot of educators who I find through you guys! And of course, my @ANS_Eagles and @ADWCathSchools !#ADWteach
A2: at first my #PL came from school, #ADW & co-workers BUT now it comes from (all those things and....) social media, webinars, #EdTech conferences, various memberships (I.e, @isteconnects@CommonGroundMD ) #ADWTeach
Hey Everyone @MrShadmansClass is my son. He is Rocking it At Wheaton HS as a Tech Teacher!!!!! Thanks for joining! #adwteach ( dont say anything bad about me)
A4: My #pln points me in the right direction for these, and researching. Anything from @RocheCenter@ACEatND and @GCCE_LUC are worth your time! #ADWteach Also, sorry I’m late joining in the fun.
A5: I feel like @ADWCathSchools have really stepped up in providing useful PD these past few years! Schools need to provide Ts with TIME (I'm always preaching that!) to plan/work together, not just faculty room lunch time rush/eat/chat! #ADWteach
Find out what teachers want to learn. We have to apply the same principles that we use for personalized learning to PD when possible. Open classroom opportunities to learn from peers #adwteach
And what teachers are comfortable with! Respecting where we each are on our growth journey is differentiating that adult learners need and require! #soapbox#adwteach
A5 @DonBoscoCR does subject wide lesson study which is great! Ts come together and observe a lesson and follow up with a review. Easch observation has a predifened focus #ADWteach
the follow up after PD is REALLY KEY and yes @J_McDonald16 the opportunity for failure . It is okay for teachers to say I am trying something new, lets see how it goes #adwteach
As an instructional coach working with schools in the #ADWteach I feel principals are doing a great job giving Ts time during the school day to work w/ coaches Caluable time to learn, share & grow as professionals @TechMcNorris22@LauraKRoland
Principals must be able to cultivate a culture of thinking amongst their staff if they want their teachers to create a culture of thinking amongst their students. #ADWTeach
A6. I'm a data guy at heart, so.... assessing what happened next. Was the learning connected to improved Ss outcomes. Making sure there are clear measurable outcomes & time to assess. Plus, the comfort to fail. #adwteach
A7: Re-tweet tagging specific T's & P's that it applies to, Follow up PD's w/ Emails! Contact T's when a great webinar is coming Add resources to https://t.co/BIDPmZ0oTh#ADWTeach
