HSSocialMedia : RT CoachDingus: Coaches! Welcome to the Monday Night #hogfbchat sponsored by GameStrat_ Tonight we have a special guest host! coachfisher_rp
HSSocialMedia : RT coachfisher_rp: Hey guys! Very honored to host tonight! I'm a mild mannered OL coach by day and #TXHSFBCHAT moderator by night #hogfbchathttps://t.co/X2ENloKYzT
Super excited to have @coachfisher_rp hosting tonight. If you haven’t checked out the #txhsfbchat you’re missing out on a lot of great footbalk #hogfbchat
I am. I went to the doctor. I got checked out got referred to a cardiologist. But my blood work looked okay. #hogfbchat. Just a scary episode in Memphis.
I wish I could have attended - but was able to get to Glazier here in Chicago this past weekend. Feeling inspired - Shiffman needs to get a midwest #hogfbchat clinic up and running.
I have coached the OL at Ridge Point HS for the past 7 years. I also created #TXHSFBCHAT for all coaches to learn from and operate every Wednesday 8p CT #shamelessplug#hogfbchat
A1. I like to take it back to the very beginning and do stance and starts. Then progress to the boards. If your stance and start suck, so do you. #hogfbchat
I like doing the combine drills with the kids. Also heavy footwork and hand placement. Drill those techniques in so when they get to hitting all of that is natural movement. #hogfbchat
Snap count recognition. Have guys get into their stance, tell them the cadence, and try to catch them slipping. Discipline on the line is essential! #hogfbchat
A1: footwork footwork footwork! I ALWAYS have my guys work on their first steps, their drive catch, and walking through plays. They’ll work hand placement, as well. #hogfbchat
A1. Mirror drill is always a good one. I also like the bird dog drill and our cage drill to work on screens. I might change my technique on that one though after attending some clinics #hogfbchat
A1: mirror drills, mostly technique drills working on punches, footwork, etc. work drills through speed. More mental things like front recognition and calls #hogfbchat
A1: Wave drill with med balls. Legs feel the burn but great for Pass Pro footwork, hands and core strength. Plus the kids hate it, so you know it's good. #hogfbchat
A1 Stance and Start. We also do “LSU Drill” ...where I stole it from. Kids partner up, one holds a hand shield and swings it like a bat. Other kid has to time up a punch! No helmets makes it even better #hogfbchat
A1 No Pads: blocking progression on hand shield. (Fit, Load, Stance) Mirror drill. Push/Pull drill. Punch and strike progression on a bag. No pads allows you slow down and drill the details. #hogfbchat
A1. Stance. Steps. We'll do our 6 point explosion hips and hands drill as well. Also partial to the leverage drill, guess it's just a drive block drill but we do it without pads all summer. #hogfbchat
A1: Stance. Not a start quite yet at JV level. Want guys to have reinforced learning in that uncomfortable state of being both physically and mentally #hogfbchat
A1: Stance and steps are certainly great things to work out of pads. Get on boards, throw some medballs out there and work steps (lead, 45, reach, etc.) with hand placement and punch. We do that just about errrrrreeeday. #hogfbchat
A1 - stance, steps, hand placement, play polish, pull drills, double team/reach block/downblock/base block etc. vs bags. I actually like starting w/o pads to establish basic fundys.
#hogfbchat
A1: I have a drill where you get 2 guys to fit into each other and one has inside hand placement and the other outside. Let them drive each other, when you blow whistle they switch hands. Then you see how much placement matters based on driving ability #hogfbchat
A1: Stance. Stance. Stance. 1-footed getoffs. Set and punch on med balls. Mirror drills w/a partner. Reach Drill competition. Just to name a few #hogfbchat
A1: Line drill. Set up all our guys in a line working our quick game pass pro. We want to work our pass pro posture while cutting off the DL. #hogfbchat
A1) (cont.): on the field I like to line up the D, give a snap count & have the OL clap & point to their assignment on the count. The clapping allows me to hear who’s unsure w/their assignment and/or if they point to the wrong guy. #hogfbchat
A2: I like to use medicine balls to get some run work in.. but I love to work pass sets.. building the drive catch to aiming points and mirror I can work pass sets with the guys for an entire practice if I had the time #hogfbchat
A1: picked up some good ideas for padless still work this weekend from La Tech OL coach with this gadget. Would like to see if I can create it to have grips at an angle like LeCharles Bentley sleds though. #hogfbchat
A1: Love using @OLineWorld65 OLP bags or a DIY P2 bar to work fit & finish / fit & drive drills. Looking to add resistance bands to add to the stance work we're focusing on this off-season/spring #hogfbchat
A1: A1: picked up some good ideas for padless drill work this weekend from La Tech OL coach with this gadget. Would like to see if I can create it to have grips at an angle like LeCharles Bentley sleds though. #hogfbchat#hogfbchat
Q1: We work skip pulls and our various steps with drive to start every practice. Also centers and QBs work QC exchange. Focus on 2 most important things: ball security and running power! #hogfbchat
A1: This time of yr I like combine-type drills explaining WHAT I'm looking for and filming guys for feedback. e.g. are they working their insteps, keeping knees inside ankles, good hip mobility during OLine-type movements, etc. #hogfbchat
A1: stance, zone/gap footwork, hand placement, combo communication, defensive front identification. Handling stunts, blitzes and other movements. Review run progression and rules #hogfbchat
A2) We use trash cans. Easy to move around to get look we want and we can get a lot of reps in. Also gives kids an aiming point. Would love to get RC dummies but we have to ball on a budget. #hogfbchat
A2: In classroom, on-field walk-throughs & will be implementing "Teach" period after practice this season. 30 extra minutes for guys who need more work, whether mentally/physically. We'll spend time repping small details with those that need more individual 1-on-1 help #hogfbchat
A2: walk through but really focus on angles and why we want to be in those positions. I also show them the backfield action so they can understand what's going on behind them so they know why defenders do what they do. #hogfbchat
A2: Looking to do some GoArmy Edge stuff and maybe add in the VR goggles. But usually set up trash cans in diff. Fronts and rep plays fast with calls. #hogfbchat
A2) I line guys up and have them tell me who everyone is blocking. I love interchangeable pieces. Also I do notebook checks to make sure they’re writing down notes in meeting. #hogfbchat
Q2 A2 strong focus on stance. Knowing and owning our angles. Knowing how to apply appropriate force to get to appropriate angle. We don’t need contact to master our schemes. All of our drills are done with minimum to know contact. Utilize X bags #hogfbchat
I make a scouting report specific to the o-line. #’s, height, weight, quickness level, strength level and what I think we will see scheme wise. We go over that over and over again and work on calls or adjustments that need to be made #hogfbchat
A2: when we aren’t in pads I REALLY slow things down. I play into the mental aspect of offensive line play. I go over scenarios that might come at us, stunts, etc. and make sure my guys know EVERY position. My T should be able to play C if needed. #hogfbchat
A2: usually the same way we would in pads... front recognition, identify rules to various fronts, walk through said rules. I supposed we could get on the whiteboard too. #hogfbchat
A2: we will walk through plays as a oline on air, against d as a oline and on air with the whole offense, preaching technique and firing off the ball #hogfbchat
A2) have the players get up during chalk talk and draw it on the board. Have others help if he gets stuck. Everyone on the line should know every position! #hogfbchat
A2: Time without pads is a great time to slow things down and really get in-depth with the "why". If/Then scenarios, Q & A. Sometimes (speaking for myself here) I feel like there's so much physical work that can be done that I don't focus enough on the mental aspect. #hogfbchat
A2) with the WR’s working routes and timing with the QB’s. Every route combo and timing. During Indy (classroom) Going over the run game with blocking and aiming point. #HOGFBCHAT
Q2: Outside of practice i like drawing up different fronts, have players identify what we are trying to do offensively, let them draw up what everyone is supposed to do #hogfbchat
A2) Our OL play is the key to all our success. We watch film, get on white board and do walk through. Steps, hand placement and our eyes are everything. Don't need pads to do these things. #hogfbchat
A2): “clap” drill previously discussed in A1. Will also go through our plays as the D holds bags. Low impact while getting to reinforce our assignments, stances, angles & FTTG. #hogfbchat
A2: when it comes to scheme it doesn’t matter to me if we’re in pads or not. I want sharp mental reps on shields. Always dial back contact a bit when installing/reviewing scheme #hogfbchat
A2. I coached TEs last year. I did a lot of half line drills. Used dummies to keep keep split correct. Would then use a kid as a dummy DE. Would then rep all my TEs on the different alignments they could see and how to do the blocks correctly. #hogfbchat
A2. We get more in depth on play rep. We rule block anyway, but in non padded practices I can go more in detail on "if this, then that" scenarios. Most of my guys play both ways. Want them to have answers before halftime #hogfbchat
A2: Two ways blocking front physically while holding bags working technique or doing a point drill getting a lot of reps against many different fronts by stepping and pointing to our rules in our offense. #hogfbchat
A2: Can still get good scheme work going on bags. The key is communicating that you can still give a great look or rep going against a bag. The kids holding bags have to understand that they’re moving and fighting back. #hogfbchat
Q1: get-offs and footwork working our angles in run. Pass sets. And can never walk-thru enough! Working assignments and reactions to defense #hogfbchat
A2 We Go vs Barrels and also work on fits on the barrels! Works Great if I need a roll Down Backer or a moving player I will use a person! Players will move Barrel for defensive alignment makes them even more aware #hogfbchat
I like calling it “Spring Drills” I go Tuesday and Thursday mornings...one day run game one day pass pro and just rep it without contact. I’m going to call it Spring Drills and finish with a Spring Game (dodgeball) Thanks for the idea! #hogfbchat
A2: sometimes I’ll set up a few sets of garbage cans with different fronts or use the back up OL.. We rep a drill I like to call “ super slo-mo” a huge focus on the steps to take and the angles in slow motion... let the guys feel it before you run through it #hogfbchat
Walk throughs, film, board work. Also have a tempo period on air where we try to get a certain amount of plays ran in a given amount of time. #hogfbchat
A2 Bonus: my guys also see the footwork of the QB and RB. This gives them an understanding of how the defense will react to the play. It makes explanation of angles WAY easier and give the OL the “why” of what we are doing. #hogfbchat
A2: when we aren’t in pads I REALLY slow things down. I play into the mental aspect of offensive line play. I go over scenarios that might come at us, stunts, etc. and make sure my guys know EVERY position. My T should be able to play C if needed. #hogfbchat
A2: Lineup OL with D looks and have them tell me there rules over and over again. Gotta make sure they know what they are doing! Then run the play. Probably gunna start doing it mobing very fast! Uptempo team!#hogfbchat
A2) Mental Reps! Big on the whiteboard and creating game time situations. Helping the kids understand why defenses try to do certain things. It helps complete the big picture #hogfbchat
A2: We use dummy barrels as defense we discuss scouting report and assignments vs potential looks then progress to first step and walk thru assignments and angles #hogfbchat
A2: We have am practice once a week. It’s essentially just a walk through for our OL. Another chance for our skills to get reps touching a football. Steal as many reps as we can. #hogfbchat
A2. Starts with film. Putting my guys on the board. Carry that over into a walkthrough. Move the defense around and listen to my guys communicate and then have them move to where they should be. Focus is on 1. Stance 2. Communication #hogfbchat
A2: When I was a position coach we did a lot of extra stuff with the whiteboard and film. Was fortunate enough to do a lot of the things I wanted to do with the hogs. #hogfbchat
We review on white board, then walk through assignments in individual periods, then bring it all together. We also are going to transition this year offensively, and with it we are going to put in a period designed around the single play we MUST run well! #hogfbchat
I am by no means Mr. Handy Man, but I assume it has to be close to feasible with some angled connectors. I'll toy around with it and hopefully have something for y'all next week. The drills you can do with this are great, I just want our OL hands in different position #hogfbchat
A2: (cont’d) We also work fast offense on air, with no pads. High tempo. Utilize it as a conditioning session along w/ schematics/OL communication session. Hogs must communicate during this! #hogfbchat
A2: @GoArmyEdge as well as on the field vs cans or bodies. Any group not going against a defense is behind getting their reps on air, making calls etc #hogfbchat
I started to focus on that in college as a player and it really helped me. @CoachPonxAU told us to focus on details as players. His attention to detail in explanation sparked me@to learn that way. #hogfbchat
HSSocialMedia : RT chrisvIQtory: A2) Mental Reps! Big on the whiteboard and creating game time situations. Helping the kids understand why defenses try to do certain things. It helps complete the big picture #hogfbchat
HSSocialMedia : RT coachfisher_rp: Q3: What do you look for in your pass protection scheme when you drill without pads? Team and Individual work #hogfbchat
A3) Honestly have guys go through blitz cards. Defense runs full speed and stop on contact. Allows us to go through opponent blitzes we will see in game. Mental reps are key!!! #hogfbchat
Q3 A3 same focus if we were in pads. Perfect stance. Get out of our stance. Create space. Own our pass pro angle and get knee to crotch. Big focus of eye placement and not having lazy unloaded hands. #hogfbchat
A3: Correct assignment and footwork/hand placement. Limit contact but can definitely work on mental side of pass pro scheme without pads. #mtzmade#hogfbchat
A3. 50 pro we want to see guys moving their feet and keeping a good inside half relationship to the defender. Slide and roll we want to see guys moving their feet and owning their gap. Big focus on foot work. #hogfbchat
A1) Pass Pro- Great stance and “perfect” drive- catch. Shin vertical and knees inside toes. Team- Fast! We wait on WR, if they’re waiting on us, we’re wrong. Indy- “Perfect” steps and hand/ head/ hip placement. #hogfbchat
Making sure eyes are in the right spot. I also make sure they are taking the right amount of kicks. I do guards 2 kicks and Tackles 3 to try and form a good pocket. Indy I work vertical set down a line to make sure hips stay square. #hogfbchat
A3: to steal a quote I heard this weekend “feet first”. I’ve always taught my pass pro that way. My guys need to take the proper angle to cut off the defender. If it’s team, they need to get to the proper assignment. And I throw some crazy blitzes/stunts in there. #hogfbchat
A3) Proper footwork, shoulders square, good body posture, well timed punch and during blitz pick up of course communication and picking up the right defenders #hogfbchat
A3: Physicality with proper technique. I think 1 on 1 pass pro, no pads is a great time to work on physicality and the ability to compete. Was one of my favorite drills in college. #hogfbchat
A3: when doing 1v1 non padded I’m looking more for technique - feet, hips, square shoulders, hand placement, etc.. when doing pass pro as a full or half line I’m looking for communication pre snap 1st, holes/leaks/confusion 2nd. Always watching technique. #hogfbchat
A3: schematically I want to see everybody going to the right spots.. not oversetting or setting out to nothing... basically exactly what I look for when we are in pads! #hogfbchat
A3: We don't have a ton of different pass pro schemes - so it's mainly the communication and right place/right time while in blitz pickup. In individual pass pro stuff, it's stagger/demeanor with a secondary focus on independent hand usage. #hogfbchat
Looking for guys to stay on their landmarks when they’re setting and where they are in relationship to the launch point. Really want them to trust their techniques. #hogfbchat
A2: Bird-dog walk-thru vs the fronts, stunts & blitzes we expect. Earlier in off-season/spring, will even do pen&paper test about rules/concepts #hogfbchat
A3) C/G: looking at more footwork. Are you protecting inside first? T: I look at shoulders. Are you turning too early? Chest and shoulders back and hips forward are a given. Try to coach that up more in Indy. #hogfbchat
A3. Stance. Create space. We focus on staying square, active eyes, and hands ready to strike. We'll walk through BPU and make sure we work together as a unit. My players are never surprised come game day #hogfbchat
A3) Look for the following: are they communicating. Are they getting out of their stance with speed. Are they splitting the crotch of the defender w/their outside leg. Do they mirror their assignment. Do they have intent. #hogfbchat
A3: cont. - this is pretty much the same type of stuff we would look for in pads. Still can see kids feet, whether they are over setting or not pounding feet back quick enough, hopping instead of steps. All the same stuff! #hogfbchat
A3: all about fundamentals. Really Hammer proper footwork. Emphasize hand placement and proper balance/not getting off balance or over extended #hogfbchat
A3: I want to see players staying clean fundamentally/technically. Above all, rep the physical movements on a moment-to-moment basis that will translate. Not a beautiful "drill", I want them to continue engaging in the physical experience. Is there unison? Coherence? #hogfbchat
A3: Another drill we do is W drill working our kick and post steps while keeping our head and chest out of our punch while rolling our hips. #hogfbchat
A3) Look for the following: are they communicating. Are they getting out of their stance with speed. Are they splitting the crotch of the defender w/their outside leg. Do they mirror their assignment. Do they have intent. #hogfbchat
A3 probably going to reuse my answer for question 1 and say footwork. Footwork can get you beat quickly in pass pro. Also can check angles and making sure their eyes are in the right place. #hogfbchat
a3 I'm generally reminding them about footwork and depth. Depth is a very important thing for inexperienced OL's. they have so much more time and room to see stunts and blitzes #hogfbchat
A2: with no pads, it becomes a huge emphasis on footwork, hand and hat placement. Defense with bags or med balls (I am partial to the med balls) we go full speed to initial contact then freeze. This gives us a “snap shot” to critique our base, leverage and feet .#hogfbchat
A3: I look for them to use their feet to remain half a man to the inside of the defender and the straight back. I don't want shoulders too far in front of hips. Leaning forward is a fast way to get beat. #hogfbchat
A4: install. We do TONS of install. And I quiz. Draw formation and defense on the whiteboard in permanent marker and the blocking scheme in dry erase. #hogfbchat
A4. We go over the entire offense on the white board so they understand how their role contributes to the whole play, and the whole system. Make sure they know their “why”. #hogfbchat
A4: I think it's important to diagram full plays. Explain what's happening on the field. Not necessarily technique, but what's our goal here and how do they play a critical aspect in that result as a whole, not just their individual assignments. #hogfbchat
A4) I draw up our core plays and make guys draw every positions job. Also do the same for blitzes. Like I said before guys have to know every position in order to be successful. #hogfbchat
A4 I share a sheet with key terms on it that they need to memorize. I think it's very important to get them together for film to point out good and poor technique and effort. #hogfbchat
A4) I draw all fronts we can see and some that I just make up to see if the guys know where to go on run plays. Explain rules in the run game and make sure they copy it down. Check the notebook as meetings go on. #hogfbchat
A4: Lots and lots of whiteboard work making sure everyone knows assignments, calls and adjustments. Drill the mental stuff so it's instinct on the field. #hogfbchat
A4: Not as much as I'd like - but with that being said, I think putting bodies in front of them and seeing it is more beneficial anyway. Limited whiteboard work but a heavy focus in early summer on walkthrough. #hogfbchat
A4 Film EVERYTHING. Kids are inherently pretty visual learners. Go thru the non-padded drills we did and show what was great and what can be corrected #hogfbchat
Lots of film and white board work. I want to get to the point where players have a chance to teach the group about the schemes we run. Strengths/weakness details of what each position does. #hogfbchat
A2: Start with walkthru, working up to 3/4 speed vrs cones-then-bags, while I'm on the other side looking at eyes, hand placement, ftw work, etc. This year I plan to film sessions as well. #hogfbchat
I set up a PowerPoint with OL basics (techniques, gaps, run/pass responsibilities, etc.) Then I drill them on it throughout the offseason. We also have a OL culture that they must know the basics of #ALPHAsquad#hogfbchat@alpha_raiders
A4 Alot of board work. Draw up fronts and techniques, show them general ideas of what we want, as well as what they'll see. Draw up any variations and the appropriate calls we want #hogfbchat
A4 We have rules for run game, instead of blocking schemes. I found it’s harder at first, but easier in the long run to have rules. So I go over the rules over and over against any defensive front I can think of. They must learn the rules. #hogfbchat
A4- we just started lineman school where we cover what everything from classroom expectations to stance/assignment/alignment/technique. Also show lots of video of what good looks like ! #hogfbchat
A4- google classroom to quiz them on assignments, THEY teach plays in front of peers and expect upper class men to ‘test’ their knowledge. We discuss blitzes, watch film, quality character traits, discuss family/personal stuff and eat meals together to build culture.
#hogfbchat
A4) whenever a new play is put in you put it against every front you’ll see on the board. After, watch film on plays that were blocked really well (really good for young guys) and where we struggled to see where we can get better!! #hogfbchat
A4: not enough currently. I like board time and explanation time prior to starting. 2 to 3 days for 35 minutes is ideal. Kids who know why they do something will do it with pride. #hogfbchat
A4) Mostly play review and checks at the LOS in the spring - always a slow introduction in the spring and then really start to throttle it up during the summer and fall! #hogfbchat
A4: we spend more time in the gym walking through blocking assignments and taking steps than on the board. It’s a little harder to space out in the gym than the classroom. https://t.co/NCV8UlaYw1#HOGFBCHAT
A4: install. We do TONS of install. And I quiz. Draw formation and defense on the whiteboard in permanent marker and the blocking scheme in dry erase. #hogfbchat
A4: Have done film study after strength and conditioning once a week during the off-season to get our guys up on our terminology and understand why things worked or didn’t and what we can do to maximize our potential. #hogfbchat
A4) Prior to every practice we install the play & assignments. Throughout the week I will have them draw up a play & what each OL’s assignment is. #hogfbchat
A4: Get on the board, film, quiz through assignments (full line). Usually meet at least twice a week in the mornings in season. Have been known to give a gameday quiz every now and then... #hogfbchat
A4. Install on the board. We'll show film before going to the next play. Every week my players will either be on the board where they can ask for help or taking a quiz where they have to draw the D and all 5 assignments #hogfbchat
A4: Chalk talk sessions are pretty much a daily occurrence during summer workouts and camp. Always go right to the field after tho to illustrate it for them. #hogfbchat
A4: not a lot, honestly. Don't wantvtgem to confuse OL play w/ being analytical. Focus on teaching concepts w/ simple ke us or rules so the emphasis in drills is on violent/explosive execution & building brotherhood. #hogfbchat
A4 (cont) When things go wrong, 95% of the time I can ask my lineman what the rule is, and it fixes our issue. The other 5% is our lineman thinking about a rule for a different play. #hogfbchat
A4 I quit going to the classroom mostly just film work I feel better with them moving walking thru (gym field) fits as a unit they retain knowledge better #timeshavechanged#hogfbchat
A4: Make sure they understand the RB aiming point and reads. Another big spring chalk exercise for us is to take Hudl screen shots of the fronts we saw last year and have each OL draw his own responsibilities and adjustments. Great for exposing questions. #hogfbchat
A4:generally I always teach concept, show play drawings, watch film of it, and then walkthrough. from my hs teacher/coach days, we start our meeting with warm-ups.Theygo to board diagram the play and explain. It’s my assessment and I learn what they really know. #hogfbchat
A4 a lot of visualization on what we're installing. I want them to see what our schemes look like and what they need to do to help make it successful #hogfbchat
HSSocialMedia : RT CoachJohnJensen: A4: not enough currently. I like board time and explanation time prior to starting. 2 to 3 days for 35 minutes is ideal. Kids who know why they do something will do it with pride. #hogfbchathttps://t.co/XA1tZmGXtP
A3: Footwork, posture, and spatial awareness primarily. If their ft/hips are not fast and correct and/or they're coming up and/or can't maintain spacing - relationship to the dudes left and rt, you'll have run thrus and other issues in the fall. #hogfbchat
Another #hogfbchat and so much learned! Amazing to talk with coaches from all over country and learn and get better. Thanks @CoachShiffman definitely going to clinic next year!
Big shout out to @CoachDingus for always being a great cohost and glad he’s feeling better! Huge shoutout to our awesome sponsor @GameStrat_ too #hogfbchat
If anybody has topics or questions that they would like covered please don’t hesitate to DM myself or @CoachDingus with those ideas! We would love to hear them and get them on the chat #hogfbchat
Shameless plug for my sports podcast Midwest Mics available on ITunes and iheart Radio also on Twitter @MidwestMics#Hogfbchat check it out if you would like
A4: Meet before spring and during spring. We practice a day then meet a day. During that off day we review prior practice film and talk next days install. Over summer meet when necessary. #hogfbchat
A4: Not enough. I do use HudlTechnique filming/critiquing drills & @JustPlaySS for scheme. I do spend A LOT of time n practice coaching on the run, explaining the "Why" of what we do. "I want your knees inside your ankles on power steps b/c u can impart more leverage!" #hogfbchat
A1: Our practices in gear are pretty similar to out of gear. We cant wear pads in summer anymore so we have had to adapt. A ton of indy/group work. When we do drills we just have kids hold bags to get accurate front looks. #hogfbchat
A2: A lot of Indy Work into Group, into team. I separate prac by scheme. gap days, and zone days. On Gap day for example We work Gap Indy, then Gap inside Run, then team with gap runs called. inside run while skills 7on7, pass pro when skills ROA, indy at same time #hogfbchat
A3: Body position. Have to be able to drive catch and put force thru ground. Tons of first steps like in run game... initial sets of varying depths. Anchoring. Working individual moves/counters #hogfbchat
A4: In the past i have purchased a bunch of cheap dollar store note books. Each kid gets their own and THEY build the playbook as we install. They write as you chalk it up/explain. I think they learn better this way than handing them a playbook already made for them #hogfbchat
Focus on proper stance, footwork, and punch. Work blitz recognition and pass protection counts. Work with group with RBs and QBs to get everyone on same page! During team we focus on making sure we have proper technique and use it to build stamina! #hogfbchat
A4: lots of work on knowing assignments and understanding how different looks fit our rules. We run a unique offense so we some exotic schemes that are out of the norm some weeks. #hogfbchat
