Bobby Darnell, Head Coach-Clements HS - Get into the Zone!
-
any advice for someone who is wanting to coach college football? What steps should I take to make that happen?
-
I've been studying Strollo some lately and I like his footwork. Can you explain what he does that is different?

So, since we got to this scheme and all tags has averaged 5.8 yds per carry since we arrived in '14. 6.4 in 2015

-
B. Pluim OL Coach Weber High, UT
-
talk about how Odd Stack changes your blocking on Zone? Please?
-
thanks for checking in tonight!
-
So, Strollo is about squareness and awareness in the LOS. It's a "shuffle" technique that he endorses. And a ground up punch
-
John Mitchell TE/H-Backs Midwest City HS Midwest City OK. What's good fellas??!!!
-
Hi...Brock Osweiler here...I started only 7 games and just signed for abt $18 mil/yr..so there's that. Let's talk some FB.
-
-
Callahan spoke on this as well in 2009-10 when with the Jets. Very successful. Since then the techniques have splintered off
-
-
-
I used to teach it the same way, but I've found that I coach better with a more "downhill" approach with the scheme
-
-
Chad Worrell Brock High School (TX)
-
Thanks for being here, coach!

Awesome, it's cool to hear the schedule of schools across the globe. Prep time for everyone right now it seems

When I mention these coaches, I want everyone to understand how intelligent these men are. The best in the World.

Get the OL going downhill with feet behind...forward movement and more power! https://t.co/5GISZEKyjd

I've had to evolve their techniques to fit my personality and the players that I work with.

Andrew Sorgatz, Offensive Line, Skyline High School Ann Arbor Michigan

But of course....they do coach the OL https://t.co/y3C21npndd

so, what I've done, is back the uncovered guys off the ball, so that their angles are set to attack outside armpit of PS DL
-
Glad to have you and congrats on the new position!

glad to have you tonight!
-
Allows us to take a more traditional, aggressive inside zone footwork, and still maintain play side hat. Trail OL, uses shuffle
-
Um, what exactly is going on tonight? The format is different. I don't like change.
-
Blake Campbell, OL/DL lake blue streaks, Uniontown, OH
-
if we feel like we can solo the C on an A Gap DT, then we shuffle the PSG into be gap.
-
If you missed something you can read up on the archive that will be posted later this week on https://t.co/f5lk6qYuf8
-
When you say the UC OL is backed off the ball, are you saying they line up further back than Cov OL pre-snap?
-
Shuffle,,,,,please give us a breakdown, real nuts and bolts..we are all football geeks
-
We wanna blow doors off the A-B gap DT. Get movement, make the PSDE play contain by launching him, and stretch LBs with the RB
-
no Q/A format? Is the chat element gone from ? Just seems like we're reading a timeline and taking notes.
-
Jayson Lavender Frisco Independence STUD!
-
So, our RB is looking to stretch LB's by running flat, making cut off 3rd step past QB. Reads PST. We want B Gap!
-
what's your running back's aim point or read on this?
-
On the BS, we handle it many different ways from who we read with the Q, to folds, RPO's.
-
-
Sorry, lots of questions so far. Trying to read and respond. Saw one about which one is my fav way to handle the BS?
-
what other zone schemes do you carry if any?
-
The one that works that week haha. No, it really is about figuring out how the Defense fits the play. We carry them all in game
-
no problem! lots of good stuff!
-
-
so inside, mid, and outside?
-
-
We run In Zone and Mid Zone. Imo, that's all you need. We major in practice reps. I want my guys & RB believing this is ours.
-
What is MidZone? Are you coupling midline and IZ?
-

-
thank you, that's the answer I needed.
-
"major in practice reps" is the quote of the night...awesome thought https://t.co/pX4xmHubDd

-
Mid zone encompasses a footwork and an aiming point for us. B Gap. Bounce, Bang , Bend.
-
mid zone is runner reading DT? Any pin and pull tags?
-
-
aha...I see...so IZ would be A Gap
-
We do run a pin-pull scheme, but only as a formation protecter. It's a compliment run.
-
are you guys embracing the Gibbs philosophy of a one cut zone play after three steps, or is the RB free to jump cut to BS?
-
How do you determine which RPO concepts you will use in your package? Do you adjust it week-to-week?
-
How do you teach the shuffle footwork?
-
How do you teach the shuffle footwork?
-
RB is simply reading the block of the PST or TE. If color flashes from inside out, we teach bend (cutback in A gap).
-
RB bend path is a "vertical track, pick up your feet and drop pad level, make an ugly 3" path then? Sorry for double question.
-
-
So do you have different combo schemes and then a solo scheme depending on if your lineman can handle theirs 1 on 1?
-
Yes, we dictate who we are combo for. Based on structure and stance of DL.
