James David Freeman. OL coach at Deer Park HS in Deer Park, TX. Looking to expand my thoughts and views on the most impressive position in sports. Big guys doing athletic things #Hogfbchat
a1 #hogfbchat Meet them, talk a little bit, then get started with the #SKAQ basics working from the ground up. Being very deliberate in terms of explaining the whys
A1: Pretty simple really. Introductory meeting/Q&A. Introduce yourself, your philosophy, and let them ask about you. I don’t like setting immediate expectations but to each his own. Let the guys comfortably get to know you. #HogFBChat
A1: I just experienced this. The first thing I did was have lunch with them and get to know them as people. I then contacted each of my players parents and told them the expectations I had for their child and myself. I’m very big on trust #hogfbchat
A1. I want to get to know the kids as people first. Establish that connection so they trust that I will do everything in my power to help them succeed. #hogfbchat
A1: have a meeting to introduce myself and the OL culture we will install. Also will do a position workout to get to know guys and intro how things will run in practice, etc. then set up meetings with individual players to get to know them and goals, etc. #hogfbchat
A1) Depends on the summer schedule and my initial availability. No matter what I am at every S&C/OTA session getting to know the boys, beginning to build those relationships. #hogfbchat
A1 this is my first job and first school but a mentor told me to always make an impact so I have been doing my best to put my stamp on the oline and team #hogfbchat
A1: Hold a meeting, then workout. I give a chance for the players to ask anything they want about me so we can build some trust and get to know each other a bit. #Hogfbchat
A1: it’s funny because I’m doing this this year with @CHSFootball100. Some of my guys already started following me, but I want to get a feel for the group and introduce myself. And I want them to know I care right off the bat. They’re my guys. #hogfbchat
A1) I would want to get to know them beyond football and let them get to know me. Maybe go do some kind of activity together or grill out and play Xbox together. They gotta know you care about them first before they care how much you know. #HogFBChat
A1 seeing as I just moved jobs,my first meeting with my OL will be to set the expectations of our group. Set the standard. They have to know that I am going to coach them hard and love them up after. But they also need to no I'm going to demand excellence no matter what #hogfbchat
A1: I also threw my position group a Pizza party during school lunch. Only people in that position were invited. I wanted to emphasis that at the end of the day, the people in that room had each other’s backs #hogfbchat
A1: get to know the kids. Get them to know you, lay out the expectations. They won’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. Goes for teaching and coaching #hogfbchat
A1) I like to do an exercise where everybody stands up in front of the group and talk about themselves (where they’re from, fav food, sport, hobbies) for at least 60 seconds. I’ll go first to show the example. If a guy struggles, I’ll ask Q’s to help along #HogFBChat
A1- First thing I would do is take the group somewhere for dinner and just listen to everything they have to say. That's an easy way to learn a lot and get a feel for their relationship with one another and the program. #Hogfbchat
A1 cont. From there get to know them as an athlete and work with them to make their strengths stranger and turn their weaknesses in to strengths. Also establish a cohesive unit among the team. #hogfbchat
#hogfbchat The plan is to get the whole group together at Quaker Steak on wing night in a couple of weeks. Eat, talk about football/goals, and get to know each other better
A1: Learn the kids, what do I have coming back, what left. What were we good at. Most importantly I want to put a face to a name and start building trust with those guys. Set expectations and then get to work! #HogFBChat
A1: Introduce your every day drills and explain the why behind them. Go slow through what you do on day 1. Teach like crazy while keeping the kids engaged in the process. Most important, have to be yourself. They'll see right through the BS. #HogFBChat
A1) I want to see them work with me observing. See how they interact and apply effort. After that, I think 1 on 1 meetings is key to getting to know them. #HogFBChat
Nothing else matters if you don’t build relationships and trust. Introduce and get to know them one on one. Learn about who they are as people. X’s & O’s, technique, etc means nothing without it. #hogfbchat
A1: very first meeting is just giving them quick introduction about me but then just talk to them. What other sports they play, hobbies, etc. First off season meeting is casual. Maybe even doing it impromptu at off season lifting.
#Hogfbchat
Know their names. Blows guys away when you learn their names quickly. And make it clear that you don't play favorites. And that they are being evaluated all the time. Drills, weights attitude, grades... EVERYTHING #hogfbchat
Q1. We met the kids at locker room or meeting room entrance and made them shake our hands, look us in the eye, and introduce themselves with name & year. It was amazing. Each day, they had to answer theme question like fears, dreams, etc. #Hogfbchat
Nothing else matters if you don’t build relationships and trust. Introduce and get to know them one on one. Learn about who they are as people. X’s & O’s, technique, etc means nothing without it. #hogfbchat
A1. Never worked in a school I've coached at so usualy first time i meet guys is at a team meeting. First real intro is on the field during summer so a few expectations for ol and we get to work showing them what and how we do what we do. #hogfbchat
A1: Meeting to introduce myself, my family, and my core values. Then WE set up the standards and expectations to help them become the best men and football players they can possibly become. #hogfbchat
A1 been lucky enough to be at the same school for what will be my 10th year this season. But I'd say first step is figuring out what type of kids you're working with. Come in guns hot may lose you the room, but too soft can too. Gotta find what works for your dudes #Hogfbchat
A1) cont. - After that, go over our OL manual and expectations. Let the guys know what to expect from me and each other. Lay out our core principles and values. #HogFBChat
Q1: When moving to a new school/job what is the first thing you'll do with your position group? A1: Try and establish an Oline culture!! Let them no right away how important they are to the team!! That nothing happens without them!! And some food of course!#HogFBChat
A1: I also wanted to know the strengths and weaknesses of the students I’d be working with. This allowed me to set position and learned what I needed to emphasize during summer ball #hogfbchat
A1: it’s definitely time to build relationships and establishing expectations. That some of the most important stuff we will ever do during our time with the kids.#hogfbchat
A1 If it's possible I'd like to have lunch with them. Introduce myself and my expectations. Encourage conversation and start bonding as a position group. #HogFBChat
A1: Take them to a buffet, trust and cohesiveness are the most important intangibles in OL play...hear them express their goals, strengths/weaknesses, establish leadership, standards & pride in being big boys....my squad EATS #HogFBChat
A1: I've only had to do it once. But we were so low on numbers that I had to recruit the hallways to find guys. I took the few guys I had and worked to gain their trust, in turn that helped me get more guys out for football. #hogfbchat
A1 If it's possible I'd like to have lunch with them. Introduce myself and my expectations. Encourage conversation and start bonding as a position group. #HogFBChat
A1: Weird this is the first question since I will be moving this summer as I return home to coach/teach. The first thing I will do is get to know them and start building the relationship. #jerseymade#hogfbchat
#hogfbchat A2 generally you have to change your drills for new offense. If we don't run stretch anymore we're not working on bucket crossover rip etc etc. If we're going air raid I'm not going to work on down blocks near as much
A2: This is my first year coaching, the guy I’m workin with has a state ring and 17 years experience. In short he knows what he’s doing and I’m going to piggy back off him. If it isn’t broke then don’t try to fix it #hogfbchat
a2 #hogfbchat True beauty of what I teach is that fact it's about movement and efficiency of that movement, so it 'fits' regardless of the Offensive scheme. Certainly focal points based on the O, but if we can get them to start right and play with violence we will have success
A2. I think you need to do what is relevant to the overall scheme of the offense. I think drive/catch applies to any offense, but we may spend more time on run blocking then pass pro or vice verse based on the offense. #HogFBChat
A2: I believe drills should be adjusted for a new Offense or for players that need work on particular skills. However, there are some drills we do no matter what. Drills that work on must-have skills.
#hogfbchat
A2. Always adapting drills to teach and improve the level the kids are at. Have to re-build drills sometimes to accentuate and correct. Doesn’t matter what I know. They need to perform so whatever it takes. #HogFBChat
A2. Some things are universal. Footwork stuff, pad level stuff that stays the same. But after a practice or two I tailor my drills to what we are struggling with for my OL. #hogfbchat
A2: Drills are the framework for the scheme. Need to adapt or adjust them as a coach. More importantly, always look to improve and evolve drills year to year #hogfbchat
A2: my drills and skills will be cohesive with what we run as an offense. I do not want to waste time on things that will be irrelevant to our success. I want my guys to be well rounded and be able to play all 5 positions within the offense. #hogfbchat
A2. I think you would have to adjust your drills to be more suited to the new offense you are running . Not change everything but slight adjustments #hogfbchat
Thankfully this time the offense is very similar scheme wise. But definitely try to adapt new stuff with old drills and let the kids help with what tags mean what to them #hogfbchat
A2: Depends on if you’re the guy calling the shots. Every drill you run should somehow relate to what you are trying to do. How are you going to run power if you don’t rep skip pulls? How are you going to run IZ if you don’t work combos? Drills should complement scheme #HogFBChat
A2: You want to drill what you do in a game. You may have to adapt and adjust based on scheme but a lot of football is universal. Get good at what you do. #hogfbchat
A2) SKAQ stays consistent through multiple schemes but drills need to change based on what your guys will be asked to execute in each schemes specific plays #HogFBChat
A2. Been coaching with the same HC and same offense for 13 years and two schools. Haven't had to change luckily. Kind of a package deal with him and others on staff so not hoping from job to job, we roll together. #hogfbchat
A2: if your technique or drills can't translate from 1 scheme to another then I question the value of the drill or technique.
How much you rep it tho is different. I might rep less pass pro depending on proposed schemes #hogfbchat#TechniqueOverScheme@USAFootballMT
A2: always want to tweak especially at a new school. Principle is the same as far as establishing fundamentals but process/drills could be different depending on systems and what's already established.
#Hogfbchat
A2 - Adapt to the skill set of your kids. Offense should move towards them more than them to the offense. Only use the drills you will use in a game. Game is theirs.
#Hogfbchat
A1 as an OLine coach you need to be a system guy. If you run a lot of IZ, you need to teach the techniques associated with it. If you came from a Wing T program (gross) to a spread style team, you need to change what you teach. #HogFBChat
A2: Every Day Drills crossover no matter the offense. But then I try to detail the Install Specific Drill to the specific offense. The Football Toolbox daily emails send out a variety of awesome topics and new drills. Worth 5 mins daily. Get signed up if you aren't #hogfbchat
A2: I used to stick close to what I already do. Knowing about the drive catch method now, the drills I do revolve around that, since it fits in every scheme and prepares the athletes better #Hogfbchat
A2) I always try to defer to my KC. Luckily, the new offense I’ll be coaching in is one I’m very familiar with, so a lot of my stuff will carry over. If it wasn’t I’d discuss w/ my OC what his expectations are & explore possible variations to fit what we’re doing. #hogfbchat
A2: early drills I do focus on technique and biomechanics. Huge fan of @OLPerformance and what they do. I think players understanding their body and transferring all the offseason work to the field is the first priority. From there move on to scheme specific stuff #hogfbchat
A2: there are some drills that are universal that I’ll always do, others need to be adjusted and designed to fit scheme of what you’ll be doing on Friday nights. #hogfbchat
A2: Will always adapt and adjust the offense based on the personnel and skill sets we have each year. Drill wise, we want to make sure our drills match our scheme, but we will always have “everyday drills” no matter what kind of offense we run! #hogfbchat
A2 - I try to find one new drill every off season to add to what I do. The kids like a little change up every once in awhile. If anyone has a drill they want to share on pass pro please DM me. I need something new. #hogfbchat
A2: Skill acquisition has nothing to do w/scheme. Let's get a stance w/3 45 degree angles, a kickstand, square hips & engaging the glutes & medials....learn drive/catch, THEN we can assign angles #HogFBChat
A2-My drills will be adapted to the skill set of the kids. I’ll won’t coach in a system that isn’t in sync with my core values and offensive philosophy so I prob won’t have to change my drills a ton. #hogfbchat
A2: if your technique or drills can't translate from 1 scheme to another then I question the value of the drill or technique.
How much you rep it tho is different. I might rep less pass pro depending on proposed schemes #hogfbchat#TechniqueOverScheme@USAFootballMT
A2: some things are universal, but most drills should be tailored to what you do offensively in my opinion. Try to make sure drill work is as realistic as possible when compared to a Friday night. #hogfbchat
A2: I think all drills should be geared toward the desired scheme. Within the scheme some techniques can be changed but the drills we do have to translate to the desired scheme of the offense. #HogFBChat
A2 there are some drills I do that apply to pretty much everything. Technique, footwork, hand placement, etc. Those drills will stay if the HC and OC say it's ok. I'll add drills based on the specifics of the offense. #HogFBChat
A2: Adapt drills that fit the scheme/skills needed to be successful in the new offense for the new offensive coordinator. However, most basic fundamentals are the same in any offense. #hogfbchat
A1: get to know them some type of way. Have some type of activity try to build relationships as quickly as possible. Can’t coach them with no relationship #hogfbchat
A3. Just be open and honest with them. Stress that I’m not like their previous position coach. There will be an adjustment period for all parties. #HogFBChat
a3 #hogfbchat Give them the chance to get to know you, and esp early on the opportunity to ask questions in a low stress environment. I don't think anything good is accomplished by having rivalry week expectations during spring or early summer practices.
A3: Let then come up with the terminology used for things like double teams, pass-protection, etc. I do solo interviews with my guys to get to better understand how they respond, and their personalities in particular. #HogFBChat
A3. I think getting to work ASAP and getting to know the kids and the community makes for a smooth transition. I have done it twice and both times I hit the ground running. Both moves went well. #HogFBChat
A3: in individual meetings will ask about what liked/didn’t like from last coach and adapt terminology, etc. to mesh my style with some of the things that I liked as well. #hogfbchat
A3: I ensure that the guys know I’m there for them. I don’t bash the old coach. I try to study the playbook as much as possible. I give my expectations and start slow. I hammer fundies and technique. #hogfbchat
A3. See A1. Develop relationship and be patient with them as long as they’re putting in the work. Showing your frustration if it’s slow doesn’t help anyone! #HogFBChat
Q3 - buy in is key. They need to trust that you know what you are doing. Have answers to their questions, give examples. History of work helps but they need to know you are good teacher with solutions.
#Hogfbchat
A3) Set the standard right away. Minimize any confusion by allowing yourself to be an open book to them. Honesty and availability are crucial. It’s been said many times tonight but they don’t care what you know until they know you care! Baby steps! #hogfbchat
A2: The fundamentals - EDDs, I keep fairly constant. I adjust scheme and technique-specific drills based on our strengths and weaknesses ⚒️🐗⚒️ #HogFBChat
A3: Like I said before trust is a big thing for me. Im gonna let the guys know that we are one big disfunctional family. We are gonna have our highs and we will have our lows. But what’s going to define us as a team is if we can go through the season as 1 unit #hogfbchat
A3 - You have to put in time to gain their trust. Make them feel special and make it your idea. I think it helps them understand that you are there for them. T-shirts, hats, wristbands, group shoes, links (carobeaners) that represent a family that only o-line gets. #hogfbchat
A3.biggest thing is to get to know my guys early.Spend some time with them, joke with them, really push to know them personally. When they trust u the transition is smooth. Also when coaching them give them something that'll help them immediately. They buy in after that #hogfbchat
A3. Be yourself and focus on the now. Be where your feet are. Don't badmouth the guy before you, move forward in a positive way and show them what you expect and how you do things. Can't BS high school kids, they see through that chit quick. #hogfbchat
We'll demo/install drills with new team or new comers in the early part of camp. We have film cut ups we update year to year to show examples. Also use @GoArmyEdge for simulations in meetings #hogfbchat
A3) if there is a hold over from the previous staff I think you try and connect some of what you’re doing to what you they did in the last bit at the same time make them understand that somethings are going to be different. It’s a fine line but can help at the start. #Hogfbchat
A3: some kids don’t pay enough attention to notice a transition. Have had seniors that don’t remember our plays from one year to the next. Other players are going to need to be in the loop on what things are changing and why....I love coaching those guys. #hogfbchat
A3: By reiterating the fact they can ask as many questions they need to, there is no such thing as a dumb question. I want them to be confident in what we are doing #Hogfbchat
A3: Teach the process. Know what you want to coach, how to coach it, and in the progression you want it taught. This helps the players with the learning and transition. Kids are resilient. #hogfbchat
A3: try to teach and encourage conversation. I think the most important part of my job is making them understand the why. If they understand why we do what we do it is much easier to get buy in than saying because that’s how we have always done it #Hogfbchat
A3: You need to let them know that while they may have loved their old coach, you're not him and you're gonna do things different but you're going to coach and teach your ass off every day. That you will care about them and be there for them no matter what. #HogFBChat
A3: Gotta earn their trust through the relationship building. When your kids believe you want what’s best for them and you want them to be their best the transition will go smoothly. #HogFBChat
A3 find a way to get to know all of them and let the togetherness build up. Be honest with them from the start. Let them to ask questions. Most importantly, make their experience as fun as possible. #HogFBChat
A3: Get to know them. Learn what they do well, learn what they need to work on.
Once you can show knowledge and that you are there to build on what they know, the transition will be smooth.
#hogfbchat
A3: I'm from the same area as my kids. I'm one of them. I was easily accepted amongst them because we have so much in common. It helped getting kids to come out and play and keeping kids from our feeder schools. #hogfbchat
A3: toughest part because not every kid is the same. Sometimes it takes time but I tread lightly until I lean the kid. Important to find a common ground that the kids know that you care for them and only gonna accept the best from them #hogfbchat
If I'm new, I show them that they matter most. Leave no questions. If the HC/OC left and our group is transitioning, let them know that it all starts and ends with them. If they believe in us like we believe in them, all is well.
Its all about the kids at all times #HogFBChat
A3 - I did a hard hat that I had our art teacher paint our colors on. I gave it to the “hardest worker” which really was the kid who graded out the highest on Friday Night. The kids wore it with pride and I had them sign it and what week it was. #hogfbchat
A3: Establish a positive relationship right off the bat! Organize, facilitate and lead the group. Oline dinners, Oline shirts, & individual player meetings are some examples we have used to create cohesiveness & a positive environment for the big guys! #Hogfbchat
A3: 1)Take it SLOW....muscle memory is made by repetition and patience, the intensity can rise in the fall
2) Have visual examples of what is desired on video & photos....our kids are visual-tactile learners
3)Emphasize the strength & conditioning form, it matters
#HogFBChat
Q3: How do you help the transition move smoothly on the players? A3: As soon as available have an Oline meeting establish expectations and let them know the passion you have for Oline! Have them start thinking about a Moto, t-shirt, and hastag for season! #trenchgang#hogfbchat
A4: I sill have almost all of mine. Wear it on rare occasions. Just cause I left one place doesn’t mean I’ll salt the earth and never look back! Lounge in it, workout in it, etc. #HogFBChat
#hogfbchat It depends. Some of it I still wear...need time to build up the new swag collection. Other stuff gets transitioned to workout gear ~ where it will get sweaty and dirty and nasty and likely never worn in public again without a hooded sweatshirt or something on top
A4. I'm giving some of mine to a coach that's staying at my old school. The rest like t shirts ect become work clothes or field painting clothes. #hogfbchat
Q4. I’m keeping the hats cause I’m working a hat collection. I’m keeping the shirts and gym shorts. Those are paint clothes for me now. I gave away my cage jackets and such. #HogFBChat
A4. This is a great question. I put mine in a box and put it in the back of the closet. Haven’t burned any bridges so it could be used again if needs be. #HogFBChat
A4: Leave it at the old school for the next coach(es) to have something to get started with. Might keep a couple things for memories but the new guys will need clothes to wear. #HogFBChat
A4 - I keep some of it. It has memories. I give some to kids that need it. I also give some back to the HC. I’ve started to buy stuff plain so that I can keep it even if I leave. I buy a lot of black, white and grey so it’s neutral no matter where I am. #hogfbchat
Guys just lurking tonight but question came to mind, during your conversation do ask the guys how they understand schemes, board? On field? Or any other method
#HogFBChat
A3) Change everything. Fundraise to get new uniforms, rearrange weight room, make sure nothing is the same. Every aspect around the player should feel “new”, not just the coaches. Build new foundation from ground up. #hogfbchat
A4. Keep the cool stuff 😎 and give other stuff to players who don’t have much. That goes a long way with kids even if you don’t coach me anymore, you still make an impression! #HogFBChat
A4 - I gave some to the incoming new coach and some to the alumni. Tshirts and shorts to the players. Kept a few items that I really liked for myself. #hogfbchat
A3: I think focusing on the future is important. You aren’t their old coach and you can’t compete with the relationship they might have built. Start new and move forward.#hogfbchat
A4 keep some and donate some. I've started a hat collection from the few places I've been. Wife is also making a quilt from our old shirts so I'll throw some in there too #HogFBChat
A2) Most of it I will give back to the guys still on the staff. No need for it to take up space. I keep all the important stuff like the championship shirts. I have at least one shirt from every team I’ve been apart of going back to my little league days. #hogfbchat
A4) I leave it with the coaching staff. It sucks being the new guy with no gear so I leave it so the new guy can feel part of the gang a little quicker had I not. 🤷♂️ #hogfbchat
A4. I always said I want my wife to make me a quilt when I’m old and retired out of t-shirts from all my teams from High School through Minor-Pro that I played for, and then all the places I coached at. #HogFBChat
A4: I dunno, aggravate my wife with my lack of closet space? I'll rock the old polos on the golf course and work out in the other stuff. My old place was full of great memories so tossing it isn't an option. #HogFBChat
That’s all part of my one on one meetings with my guys. Set their goals(short term and long) on and off the field, see how they learn best, see what their mindset is regarding their position/future/the program, all that. #HogFBChat
Guys just lurking tonight but question came to mind, during your conversation do ask the guys how they understand schemes, board? On field? Or any other method
#HogFBChat
A4: Leave most of it for the other coaches / staff who are still there. However, youve gotta keep a couple of the favorites! You never know what God has next for you and yours. #Hogfbchat
A4: I get my Texas Bowl ring from this past season at Mizzou sometimes this week, so that is one piece of gear I will always wear and cherish #hogfbchat
A4: I have kept a lot of my shirts and passed on to other coaches my old pullovers and polos. Eventually I want to make a blanket/quilt as a memento from everywhere I’ve been. I have been blessed to coach a bunch of great guys and it’s fun to remember the good times. #hogfbchat
Q4: What do you do with all of your old coaching gear when you change jobs? A4: keep some stuff for memories and give away some gear to coaches admin, and especially support staff!! #hogfbchat
A4: keep one or two pieces from each spot in a tub in the basement. Was useful when stops #3 (as an assistant) and #5 as HBC were the same. Between shirt swaps with dudes from other programs, I am just a couple shirts shy of everyone in the county. #hogfbchat
And that's all she wrote! Another wrap for a great #hogfbchat We wanna thank everybody for participating tonight in the fastest hour on twitter! You guys make Mondays the best night of the week! #AllGasNoBrakes#GoGo
Big shoutout to @CoachDingus for always being such a great co-host. Best of luck to him as he takes on his newest adventure at Shawnee High School! #hogfbchat
A4) Would give it back to the program. That is unless it was already taken by everyone else already!! Lol dibs start quick and guys turn into vultures quick when they get the news! Haha pretty sure half my stuff is from @coachcroft#hogfbchat
If anybody has any topics or questions they would like discussed on the chat PLEASE DM myself or @CoachDingus with those ideas and we will get them up #hogfbchat
A4: Give it back, unless it’s super sweet and I just have to have it. Or if it doesn’t have a logo and just so happens to be the same color(s) as the place I’m headed... #HogFBChat
A4: I have given it to other coaches still on staff or to family. Trying to figure out what I'm going to do with stuff I have from the school I left after 9 years.
#HogFBChat
We’d like to thank our official sponsor GameStrat! They provide teams with the most reliable and advanced sideline replay system. Check them out https://t.co/Ywj2bBIwhf@GameStrat_#Hogfbchat
A4) Keep it! Especially if you take a coaching job out of district and then return to coach in-district. I recently returned to coach in my school district where I teach after an 8 year stint out of district with friends. Plus, it adds that throwback quality! #hogfbchat
A2: The answer lies somewhere in the middle. A lot of fundamental drills work for any offense, others may need to be adjusted based on your kids. #Hogfbchat
A2) Adapt or die. While the base fundamentals don't change much if you don't adapt to athlete skills set and your new offense you're selling your athletes and your team short. #hogfbchat
Not the only hold over but working with new OL guy is different and trying to figure out that dynamic. Trying to see if anyone has suggestions outside of talking to him. #HogFBChat
@CoachDingus Looking for ways/coaching points for blocking an outside shade by pst on zone read. tight zone- a gap. Keep shoulders square and use flipper? Pass set? Drive block on an angle? maybe a hogchat question. Thanks. #hogfbchat
#hogfbchat Nobody likes that guy who wears stuff from his last school, or even worse, talks about how they used to do it back there. My rule is old coaches gear becomes work clothes on the weekends or sweats around the house!
A1) VERY First thing is tell them how SPECIAL OL is. Let them know it is THEIR team and you’re there to help put them in the best possible situations for success, then say get in lines it’s time for BOARD DRILLS! #HogFBChat
This is one great follow if you like OL talk. Teacher of the game of football and life. Excited to have my son under his direction. RT @CoachJohnJensen: A3: have fun, work hard, and tell them why you do something. Treat them like young men. #hogfbchat
A2) I don’t think you necessarily have to adjust when changing programs but there should always be some fluidity In drills. As a player’s/unit’s understanding of the scheme increases the specificity of the training should adapt with it #HogFBChat
A5 #hogfbchat Help out in any way you can. Let your HC know that if he needs to know the layout of the land, you’re there to help. Everybody loves a hard worker. It’s not really that much different from taking a new job somewhere. Its important if you’re a hold over to be all in
