A1 massive goals ... have received permission… Using science tables and chairs this year instead of desk ... but no further, challenging students #hcpsteach
A1: I've taken some small steps towards flex seating and hope to have it fully implemented in the near future. So far, I'm loving the small steps! #hcpsteach
A2: Best benefits have been student choice and responsibility. The excitement they get from being able to choose for themselves is amazing and the responsibility/ownership of their choice is fantastic! #hcpsteach
I started flex seating in elementary last year. Brought it to middle school this year. I have changed desks to tables, and added different seating options. #HCPSTeach
Principal at the ES in St.Augustine said he offered tax donations letters in exchange for furniture on Craig’s list .. local TCHR did same with Facebook group #hcpsteach
A4: My favorite hack has been talking to and asking the kids what they would be interested in for FS. They have such great ideas and think of things that are inexpensive and can have multiple uses! #hcpsteach
A4 I did add charging station and fidgets to my classroom as a starting point... also going to add a yoga mat for my S who likes to lay on the table 😜 #hcpsteach
A4: Salvation Army chairs, wobble stools & cushions from @DonorsChoose, biggest change was transforming old tables this year that were in our school basement to whiteboard tables. #HCPSTeach
A5: Completely changed my beliefs! It was a much needed change in my classroom and I immediately saw student benefit. They enjoyed being in the classroom, which allowed them to be more engaged with their learning. #HCPSTeach
A5: It changes the classroom environment. More excitement, enthusiasm towards learning, and looking forward to what's next from both the students and myself! #hcpsteach
A5 flexible seating has supported my mindset, mgmt, & tchg philosophy... it’s about the students ... learning! Not copying, not spoon-feeding, ... creating & confident #hcpsteach
