    A1a I use it because the parents expect grades. It doesn't reflect actual learning. "for real" grades get too many complaints. #HCPSTeach

    Yes ... an A in Class A based on a lot of participation and a box of tissues is not as valuable as a B in Class B based on mastery of standards #HCPSTeach

    Mastery of standards--younger S we start the year with 80%/20% to help S & P adjust otherwise don't practice so don't learn #hcpsteach

    A3 I have 2 categories - mastery and classwork/homework. I usually supply answers so I check for understanding. Behavior/ Partici./ effort are expectations not grades #hcpsteach

    Ability to retest on a topic once per quarter. Higher grade counts 2/3 with lower grade 1/3 for composite grade. I also drop their lowest quiz score every 9 weeks b/c everyone has a bad quiz day at some point. #hcpsteach

    #hcpsteach A5 Dry Erase is less risky than paper & pencil.Pride in work not answer. Oops is OK. Tests R 2 show what u know, this changes
