A0: Hi everyone. Tom Ashley here - TOSA Tech Coach @PalomaValley in the @puhsd. This is the easiest opening question of all time!!! To be kinder to myself I need to get off my backside and start running again! #IEedchat

I could be kinder to myself by giving up caffeine. I get a headache when I don’t drink caffeine so that is a good sign for me to give it up.

I could be kinder to myself with more fruits and veggies. I'm sure my gastro system would appreciate it.

A1: Some of my Ss offered to pray for my daughter’s surgery tomorrow. My collab T quickly helped me separate 2 Ss whose verbal altercation was escalating to physical. #IEedchat
A1: my Ss were mega awesome today and did a fantastic job comparing the election of 1800 to last year’s election and comparing the Alien and Sedition Acts to laws we have in place today #IEedchat
A1) Set up a VoIP ATA with @joshjusd and it worked on the first try. #win#ieedchat Also told everyone I needed to shut off the Internet to do a network upgrade and didn't have anyone come back negatively. #downtimeisnecessary
A2: Students need to constant reinforcement (but not nagging) to be kind to others. To find the good in things and to promote goodness. It is unhealthy how some Ss pursue hypocrisy w/out finding time for the positive and beautiful things in life. #IEedchat
A2: Help them to use social media for encouragement of others, rather than to just make themselves look good or show off what is going on in their life #IEedchat
A2: Send out class Reminds thanking Ss while leaving their names off of it, so they have to guess. Go through their essays or their WikiProjects and leave a kind, non-academic comment. #IEedchat
A2: share with Ss some good vibe posts on twitter and other platforms and challenge them to likewise be kind in social media and spread good vibes #IEedchat
A3: Hmmm, resources to help me be kinder? Inspirational books and movies like Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings maybe... The things that have really made me kinder in life have been when I have failed at an endeavor. It's humbling and humanizing. #IEedchat
A3: I expect my kids to be kind so they are my constant reminder to model that behavior. Also, listing three things I am grateful for each day. #gratitude#IEedchat
A3: Personally, my church https://t.co/lA5PWv9lmz helps encourage me to be kind since everyone there is. Can't underestimate how faith based organizations can positively affect a life. #IEedchat
A3: Not a resource or organization, but I can reset my kindness gauge when it’s off the chart in the unkind direction by going out of my room and serving others. I serve enough people until I am feeling kind again. #IEedchat
A4:I am a great cook and bartender, I can create some tasty beverages and cook dinner for some of my friends to thank them for being a rock in my life #IEedchat
#IeEdchat A4: I am really good at giving high 5's and sharing positiveness in the hallways during passing period, students think im strange but if I can make one person smile who.may be having a bad day... Then it is well worth it.
A4: I'm a people person (so my wife tells me), so I think going out of my way to make someone feel welcomed in a new environment would be a kind thing to do. #IEedchat
A4: I bake a mean chocolate chip cookie. Gift giving is one of my strengths (if only funds didn’t limit it). I’m also incredibly organized and I can brainstorm structure for most things. #IEedchat
A4: I love literature and the stories that make up the human experience. I can share these stories with others and take some down time to talk about these stories. And do the same thing when #TheLastJedi comes out. #StarWars#ieedchat
A4: I am pretty good at organizing & planning, so I organize family functions, plan activities with my friends, and starting the process of planning 20 yr. HS reunion. #IEedchat

I do that too! I usually do it on Fridays, and I call out "Free Friday High Five" as I walk by Ss. It is funny to see their faces, but several jump at the chance to give a random high five #IEedchat
A5: I could have no better example of generosity and patience than my own parents. My mom and dad gave me time to grow and mature when I needed it and always supported me. #PayItForward#IEedchat
A5:
My mom, the queen of compassion, empathy, and always wanting to find the good in people around her.
Love seeing teachers greet at the door around campus too.
wink wink @MistaDaly#IEedchat
A5: @EdTechAri for her tech kindness to newbies and experiences Ts.
@TimDF1 for his understanding and stern kindness to his students.
@mapplebee7567 for his kindness to me and our daughter when we are demanding of attention. #IEedchat
A6: The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, used to read that one to my kids but had to shelve it when they kept asking "Daddy, why are you crying?" Teaches selflessness #IEedchat
A6:
Pay It Forward.
cheesy, but awesome reminder that you don't have to know someone, and they don't even need to have earned it, kindness is always a good investment.
