Q2: How did your educational and life experiences prepare/mtovate YOU to become an educator?
#WeAreWayne
First building relationships with them, providing meaningful and relevant student activities, creating a fun learning, risk free environment and promoting true collaboration and ownership within the environment. Also, goal setting and limited rewards. #wearewayne
A2: I had amazing educators K-12 who encouraged, took interest, and believed in me! Becoming an educator was a no brainer for me from a young age! It starts with the relationships! :) #WeAreWayne
Q2: My parents, teachers, and coaches IN #wearewayne instilled a feeling of success & a level of comfort in discomfort. It’s important to me to continue that tradition of support and confidence with our scholars. #WeAreWayne
A1: Hard work takes you places. Students determine where they “want to go/do” and we can build a road map. Students need guidance but also the independence to set goals and realize they can be decision-makers. “Checkpoints” along the way help them persevere! #wearewayne
A2: As a third generation public school educator, I didn't have a chance. I was influenced by some amazing people who paved my pathway. I also had some incredible teachers in my career who motivated me and reinforced my desire to want to be an educator. #wearewayne
Like many, I had coaches/teachers that modeled amazing leadership qualities and were role models and didn't view their jobs as "work."
Q3: In your opinion, what is the MOST exciting thing happening in education?
#WeAreWayne

A2: My teachers in middle school took care of my basic needs; my social emotional needs first. Then they took special interest in me as a student and provided me with tools to be successful in school & ultimately in life. Now I'm on a mission to pay it forward. #WeAreWayne
A3: students being empowered and taking charge of their own learning, challenging their thinking and continuing to push themselves and each other! #WeAreWayne
A3: The most exciting thing happening in education are the amazing men and women choosing to become teachers. We greatly need the best and brightest to make a positive impact. #wearewayne
A2: I had some AMAZING teachers from elementary to high school (shout out Mrs. Hensley!) that were so energetic and excited to teach and see us learn. I wanted to be just like them! They made me happy to be in class! #wearewayne
A3: so many exiting things happening in education, but I’m really loving that our 1:1 technology provides so much access through video, voice, text, and drawing options. #WeAreWayne
Sometimes (myself included) its so easy to focus on the NEGATIVE. I sometimes get a sympathy look/reply when I tell people I work with kids. :(

A4: I honestly don't know. My distance from our scholars makes this an unknown. However, I hope that those with whom I have a relationship would say "he cares about me". #wearewayne
Wow @MACtionPE, that’s a tough one! I’d like to think that “my kids” consider me supportive, encouraging, and loving. But, 3rd graders are most likely to say, “nice”. #wearewayne
A3: The most exciting part of education today is providing opportunities....for students AND adults. The sky is the limit when we collaborate and care enough to build character and academics. #wearewayne#DifferenceMakers
A4: my sixth grade friends would clearly share about my great singing and dancing talents 🤦🏻♀️ 😉... probably more like I am organized, energized, and care about them and their future! #WeAreWayne
A4: They’d say she makes us work hard, but she tries to make it fun. Also, she always makes sure we’re okay. My 5th graders are pretty honest and have thanked me for these two things specifically. Made my day. ❤️ #wearewayne
