Hi #122edchat!! Marisa Thompson, Carlsbad, CA, HS ELA, PD Instructor, Blogger/writer, and presenter! Tonight is Back to School Night; I'm trying a new approach (while holding my breath & crossing fingers) so I'm here via TweetDeck.
Hello! I'm Rebecca from Nevada. This is my first time in this chat. I'm here to support my friends, Alana and Mike Stanton! I hope all of you had a great Wednesday!
#122edchat
Hi all!
My name is Rachel Ciambriello and I am a pre-practicum student at Lesley University. I am studying Middle School Education and English with a minor in Mathematics. Excited to be here and learn from all of you! #122edchat
#122edchat
Rachel Turney in Fulton, Missouri at William Woods University. (Education Professor) I am mentoring an undergrad @vtownsendnews in using Tweet Chats tonight for her #PLN !
A1: Listen to some music, I like to get to school and get a few things done before Ss get there. Sometimes put up a quote to meet the kids as they come in #122edchat
A1: I try to bring some energy each morning to my room. I blast music on the way in. I then great my kids at the door with a handshake and a smile. We first chat before we learn. #122edchat
A1: Nothing like the smell of hot coffee while watching the sunrise! Late start, Renee Costarella, Arcadia Unified School District, Instructional Coach #122edchat
A1: I wake up at 5 and run 5K while listening to @DonWettrick on the @letsstartedup podcast. I get to think about things, learn hands on about setting goals, and practice mindfulness. #122edchat
A1: On the way to my placement I listen to my happy music! I love listening to some of my favorite musicians, it really puts me in a good mood for the day. #122edchat
A1: I'm actually one of those rare morning people. One thing that does still give me a boost is getting to see & talk with colleagues before the day starts!
#122edchat
Hello #LastingLearning and #122edchat Steph Dill elementary SPED T in Colorado. Stopped at a red light, almost gone so will be joining in by the 2nd question.
#122edchat A1 I have a 45 minute drive. I catch up on the news and almost always hear something I want to share with my college students. I also try to really work on my positive mindset before work. #positivemindset
A1: Some morning I listen to some of my favorite ed podcasts like @ShareMoEdu or @Edusations Some morning I reflect in the quietness of my 40 minute commute and some I jam out #122edchat
Hello, I'm Angie and I teach 4th grade! I start my mornings quietly at home just waking myself up...then I turn up the music and dance it out singing at the top of my lungs while I drive to work...LOL No video allowed. #122edchat
A1 I ride bike in the morning prior and then a microwave burrito and ride to school. I ask the cooks what’s for lunch and high five the Ss in the hall #122edchat
A1: During the last two years I taught, I lived close enough to the school that I walked to school every day of the school year. Some days that meant sun, some days snow, and some days it meant stars, but it was a great way to start my day!
#122edchat
A1: Coffee. But also - a quick scan through Twitter to get some AM inspiration. Change out the motivational quote on my whiteboard. Set up daily agenda with a different motivational quote. #122edchat
A1- Music usually gets me fired up. I have a few playlists or create one before I leave the house to get my day started right. I tend to belt out some tunes (not very well, though). #122edchat
A1
Crossfit @ 5am! It was tough at first adjusting to getting up 2 hours earlier than normal, but any day I get to Crossfit is always better than the days I can’t get there. Gets me awake and alive.
Short devotion. Gets me prepared to love all & keep the kids first.
#122edchat
A1: I've tried to start each day by putting a positive quote or interactive question on the board & decorate it. Just something small to get to know the kids better.
#122Edchat
Joy from IL here - I love the subject of the #122edchat tonight! A1: I put the top down and sing my heart out. Then share music with my students as they're walking in, too! :D
A1b I should add that I make myself a Poor Man's Mocha: a scoop of cocoa powder with my flavored K-cup coffee...right now it's pumpkin spice of course! #122edchat
I tell my students every morning “You are a champion, you are a master of fate, You are more than capable b/c you are mighty and proud mustang!” #122edchat
A1: Trying to be healthy is a major key to success. I wake up early and get a 3 mile run in each day before the house erupts with fighting. When I get to school, I'm ready to go full blast. Try and stop me. #122edchat
Hi all! Kristen here from PA! I teach 6th grade physical science. And yes, I can jump rope with one leg, in case you were wondering... in case anyone wants to share. And yesterday was a horrible, no good, very bad day. But today was a brand new day!!!! #122edchat
A1 I’m with you @PHausTech, I don’t mind mornings and I’m pretty energized right away. I do start my days with prayer, enjoy time with my girls, and then like to organize my space before Ts and Ss arrive. #122edchat
#122edchat A1 My #1 goal is for my Ss to describe me with these descriptors . I dwell on these adjectives so my actions and words show these to my Ss. When you do this, your classroom becomes a magical place. You will inspire them to greatness. #AlwaysBelieve
I'm envious! I used to bike to work 2-3 x /wk back when I lived 17 mi away... Now that I live 11 mi away, it's too dangerous. What a great way to start your day!! #122edchat
A1: alarm 5am
wake the teenaged girl up and pray she doesn't kick or slap me
have bfast
get dressed
30 min drive to work with the radio blasting 80's music
turn on the Keurig as soon as I get in my classroom
#Coffee#Coffee#coffeetime#122edchat
A1. My most productive start is my twitter time. Its early morning here in India when all the chats start ...so I get myself my hot tea and Kickstart with my #Pln on @TwitterLive#122edchat...makes my day
#122edchat A2 Greet each student at the door and tell them #YouAreAWEsome Be a source of positive. You classroom should be a positive force in their daily life.
A2: I like to start my day with a question, & listen to my colleagues (my students) provide feedback. Gives them real voice before decisions are made. #122edchat
A2: Empowering Ss at the beginning of the day starts with greeting them with enthusiasm each morning and having something ready for them to launch into at the beginning of class.
#122edchat
A2: I don’t teach at the beginning of my day, but I make sure to greet every person I pass in school with a big smile and a bright “good morning” #122edchat
A2: Student empowerment at the beginning of the day- my sonś 4th gr. teacher does personal hand shake to great each student. I also see Ss empowered by starting on projects or tasks they feel need to be accomplished- a playlist.
#122edchat
#122edchat Yes, I need to be modeling creating a safe and welcoming environment for my preservice teachers. #fail#willdobettertomorrow
Suggestions for greeting college students in limited time environment?!
A2 I greet my students at the door for each class, use their names, remind them about past things they have told me, and once they sit down I start.
#122edchat
A2: Ask them about how their night was. Give them the chance to talk about positive/exciting things that may have happened or not so great things. #122Edchat
This is beautiful, Rebecca. I was close (twice) to accepting a job in my hometown where I would have been able to bike to school. Now I drive and fight traffic. :/ #122edchat
A2 I play music on the way in and talk to the kids, going through their day with them, giving them encouragement to stay away from the drama. I make sure each of my kids has a writing utensil and feels welcome. #122edchat
A1: my morning ritual include some reflection on what I hope to accomplish and what I am grateful for as well as some strong, black coffee, the @nytimes mini-crossword and about 30 minutes@I’m the treadmill. #122edchat
A2 Veronica Townsend, William Woods University sophomore. Thank you for introducing me to the chat @RachelTurneystl. I empower myself with attending classes regularly and being active within class discussion. #122edchat
A2 I think greeting students is really important in the morning. It tells them that you are happy to see them. A cool thing my supervising practicioner does is greet students in all different languages! #122edchat
A2: My 8th graders in homeroom come in tired and unmotivated. I make sure to send them out with a "Happy ___day!" no matter what - even if I'm feeling the same. I may not be the loud, over-the-top type, but a simple smile and positive message goes a long way. #122edchat
A2: I pick them up from the cafeteria with a smile, a fist bump at our door, hugs for those who need them, and take time to listen to their anecdotes #122edchat
A2 I have soft starts where they either build, work on something different in tech, growth mindset activity etc. when they 1st come in. Helps set a positive tone. #122edchat
A2 we play fun music to start our day off and play it through the entire school. The AP and I also greet the student and do announcements. We always make sure to let the students know we love them on those announcements so they hear it from someone first thing. #122edchat
A2: I try to chat w/my Ss in line to class from the blacktop or greet my students at the door daily (if I"m not refilling my coffee mug). Our schedule starts with Power Hour (small groups) but between PH and our reading lesson we do our class mantra loud and proud #122edchat
A2 Students set the topics for our day because their small group discussions drive our class literature discussion. If there are choices to be made, I present options, listen to their ideas, and vote. Today they voted to read and save Introductions for Friday #122edchat
A2: Ss mirror what they see us doing. If we come in dragging ourselves around, they will be less inclined to be invested. I clap, cheer, laugh, shout to let them know I'm happy to be here, and happier that they chose to be at school, as well. #122edchat
A1: I get myself excited for the day with positiviTEA (hah) and my favorite songs! This morning routine works best when I have my morning prepped the day before, like my objective posted, materials stationed, centers schedule posted. #122edchat
A2: I listen to them, especially their requests. When you say yes more than no, they are more likely to tell you what they need to learn. Ss don’t always try to take advantage. Many times they are trying to advocate for themselves. Don’t want to shut that down! #122edchat
A2: Learned this from my wonderful friend @StantonAlana ...Morning Meeting to start...play the song “I Think You’re Wonderful”, greet each other, share some of our stories...build relationships! #122edchat
A1 Reading all your answers I am impressed. I am barely functional before 8 am. I get ready, feed the animals and read twitter, then off to work! I get to work 30 minutes early so I am awake when Ss get there. #122edchat
A2: Ss mirror what they see us doing. If we come in dragging ourselves around, they will be less inclined to be invested. I clap, cheer, laugh, shout to let them know I'm happy to be here, and happier that they chose to be at school, as well. #122edchat
A2: I now have morning supervision in the hug and go zone. It has been great becasue a goal of mine is to learn everyones name and greet them by name. It is going well. #122edchat
A2 I greet my 6ers at the door and I am always happy to see them! There’s also a lot of loud and silly “encouragement” on my part so they can get unpacked and organized for class quickly. I have three separate classes so I do this 3x a day. #122edchat
A1: I was going to the gym, which was fantastic, but I got sidelined for 6 weeks and I’m super crabby about it. Gave me such a positive outlook and allowed me to focus better. Now I have a lot of frustrated energy. But I can jump rope with one leg soooo..yeah.. 😂 #122edchat
A2 I like to stand in the hall and say hello and chat with Ss and Ts in the hallway. It is also when I do some quick check ins with kiddos.
Occasionally music is played, esp on Friday #122edchat
A2: I now have morning supervision in the hug and go zone. It has been great becasue a goal of mine is to learn everyones name and greet them by name. It is going well. #122edchat
#122edchat I am always high energy...mostly because of coffee, but also because I like my job and I care about my students (preservice teachers) and want them to be excited about the ed field and find success. @WilliamWoodsU
You gotta have fun to bring it. This past Monday we had a theme concert for my 4th graders. We danced, sang, and dove deep into song lyrics to analyze the them.
A3: I’d circle up with the class before we began to hear everyone’s high & low of the day before and what their takeaway was. Reflect to empower #122edchat#edchatri#RJLeagueChat#pbischat
How about singing horribly? Telling corny jokes? A funny meme on the board to greet them with a chuckle? College students aren't too adult yet are they? #122edchat
A3: They work at their own pace, have more ownership over their learning, therefore they feel less pressure & see more success. I'm working on meeting with every student (it's going to take some time) to set individual goals & rewards for all of them. #122edchat
A3: I check with my students for decisions about what we do each week + I just instituted Feedback Friday where they give me feedback on what worked/didn’t and what they enjoyed/didn’t from the week. #122edchat
#122edchat I am always high energy...mostly because of coffee, but also because I like my job and I care about my students (preservice teachers) and want them to be excited about the ed field and find success. @WilliamWoodsU
A3 I make sure they see me in the halls and I say good morning and visit with teachers and students. I ask my seniors what coffee flavor they have and we do a coffee cheers. Then I move on. I cover ground #122edchat
A3: I bring humor, movement, love, community, movement, flexible seating, specially designed learning experiences, and lots of hands-on learning. #122edchat
A3 I use Music in the classroom with everything. I use it with transitions, in learning, and during working. This helps motivate my students throughout the day.
#122edchat
A3 Because we don't have reading quizzes, novel tests, or hw (except reading), we've agreed we must be productive in class. I don't waste their time & they don't waste mine or each other's. Projects, writing, everything's in class, so there's time to make it awesome! #122edchat
A3: Right now I have activities that anyone can do. I mean, who can’t it a strip of paper in a sndom column. It’s a start!!! Not much to read, not much to write, just sort and match and build... whew! So fun but do busy!!! #122edchat
I enjoy doing the little things like saying hello to everyone in the hallway and giving high fives to people walking by me in the hallway. It is the little things that make a day go by fast and may make someone's day. #122edchat
A3: Making it meaningful & authentic helps. Ss like adults want to know why? Then we use design thinking strategies to brainstorm & blow up the room. Figuratively of course! #122edchat
How about singing horribly? Telling corny jokes? A funny meme on the board to greet them with a chuckle? College students aren't too adult yet are they? #122edchat
A3: Songs showing my care for them, greeting them each by name, asking how their day is going, playing w/a balloon in homeroom, chatting before the bell... treating them like the people they are. #Middleschool rocks. ;) #122edchat
A3 I stay excited. I am constantly moving and try to tie what we're doing into every day life...their life. Hands-on is important as well as getting them up and moving. #122edchat
A3. Yea, we are the fun class. We get up, move, really dissect the concepts. We play music almost constantly. This was a lesson on Star wobbles due to planetary gravity. I did the wobble, the kids pretended to be stars. #122edchat
A3: I’d circle up with the class before we began to hear everyone’s high & low of the day before and what their takeaway was. Reflect to empower #122edchat#edchatri#RJLeagueChat#pbischat
A3: Trying to connect Ss with their passion is essential. Also, if we can get them using their prerequisite skill sets (art, drama, music) to demonstrate understanding, the learning process becomes less work + more fun. Just starting to scratch the surface in our Lab. #122edchat
A3: I bring humor, movement, love, community, movement, flexible seating, specially designed learning experiences, and lots of hands-on learning. #122edchat
A3: Bring it attitude, such as phrases of agency. "This time is for you." ¨How do you want to ensure that you are growing?¨
Discussions are for the Ss. Experiences are for the Ss.
#122edchat
A3: My kids need to move! Go Noodle, Cosmic Yoga, outdoor learning when we walk, explore and run...and chasing Mr. Quinn always goes over well! 😂😊 #122edchat
We seem to live parallel lives... except make that 2 teenage daughters.... and I don't get close enough to be slapped or verbally abused, lol! #122edchat
A2. We typically start tgw day with energizers and mindfulness . They love being engaged that way and they get into the mental space to be ON THE GO ....#122edchat
A3: Trying to connect Ss with their passion is essential. Also, if we can get them using their prerequisite skill sets (art, drama, music) to demonstrate understanding, the learning process becomes less work + more fun. Just starting to scratch the surface in our Lab. #122edchat
Hahahahaha! This is AWESOME. I would sneak outside and do morning duty with @DMooreSpanish. I think there are photos of our antics, screaming at cars driving past. #122edchat
A3 I’m always excited about the things we are doing, enthusiasm is contagious. We have Choice Boards with lots of creative response types to choose from #122Edchat
A3 I bring as much choice to the art room as possible (near 100%). This allows students to explore through their interests, make meaningful discoveries, work at their skill level and share their authentic voice. One of the best choices I ever made! #122edchat
A3 I try to take time to do fun little activities where I can. I play music as a timer, and use 4 corners to get them up and moving. It also helps that I am REALLLLLLY animated when I teach! There is a whole of hand motions going on, and occasional jumping around #122edchat
A3: consistency, compassion, and making a fool of myself at least once a day LOL! If I goof something up they all participate more because they know I don't expect perfection, just effort! Our class mantra really energizes them too. #122edchat
A3: At times I'm kind of silly and work to lighten the moods of the group or class I am in. I feel like the Ss respond well when I do this and are pretty easily brought back to the task at hand. #122edchat
A3: Songs showing my care for them, greeting them each by name, asking how their day is going, playing w/a balloon in homeroom, chatting before the bell... treating them like the people they are. #Middleschool rocks. ;) #122edchat
A4 It’s important that our team feeds off our positive energy. We need to show others we truly love what we do and do what we love....teach! #122edchat
A3: Trying to connect Ss with their passion is essential. Also, if we can get them using their prerequisite skill sets (art, drama, music) to demonstrate understanding, the learning process becomes less work + more fun. Just starting to scratch the surface in our Lab. #122edchat
A4: Collaboration and creativity from the Ss. Moving the teacher from lead to guide. Working on refining purposeful and essential questions to guide the collaboration and creativity.
#122edchat
A4: One thing nearly every can add is more student voice and choice. Ss gaining more ownership and options in their learning most definitely can bring more energy to the classroom.
#122edchat
A3: My K kids love to move...but they also love to sing...music and their collective voices are huge motivators...they even like it when Mr. Quinn sings! 🤣😊 #122edchat
It is absolutely my favorite! It's a lot of work at the beginning but it totally pays off. The kids love it. They actually hate when I change plans and don't let them work on what we call their grid. #122Edchat
A4- Energy starts within us! If you don't feel the fire, you can't bring it to your classroom. Take time for yourself so you can be there for your students! #122edchat
A4: Music. I've seen what the power of music can do for these kids, and I need to start planning ( a la #TLAP) for a little music hook every now and then! #122edchat
A4
I can bring use more movements in my classroom with our skills. Watching Teach Like A Champion videos help me see the Power in movement w/words & skills.
#122edchat
#122edchat I think energy for me isn't a problem, but I need to get my students up and moving and passionate about what we are doing. I try to tie content into their lives as much as I can. I think spending time on team building would help. #teambuilding
A3 Use the meme of the day or celebrate what special day it is on the calendar take the first few minutes to just talk let them get settled and then dive in #122edchat
A4: I suppose if I had a classroom of my own I would put a high priority on movement because I have seen middle schoolers get bored super easily! #122edchat
A5 Passion and compassion. We need to first be passionate everyday even when teaching a standard that we personally find a little less engaging. That's when you really bring it! And compassion to stop and put yourself in your students' shoes. #122edchat
Hey Chris! So glad to see you and thanks for always giving your voice to so many. We all love you.
Singing is wonderful, I think your wonderful....(song)
#122edchat
A3: My K kids love to move...but they also love to sing...music and their collective voices are huge motivators...they even like it when Mr. Quinn sings! 🤣😊 #122edchat
A3Our Ts make it engaging. They do whatever it takes to get Ss excited about the content. Room transformations, student choice, passion projects, technology, and play. #122edchat last weeks 3rd grade glow@games @edVENTUREwHAYES
A4: Talked today about building in backup "pocket challenges" since Ss finish engagements at different times. Why not game design using @koduteam, a Photoshop editing challenge, or video PSA design in a period? @DBlabas asked, "We have sports awards, why not for tech?" #122edchat
A4 tomorrow I am announcing that there will be two purple cones (school colors) in the hallway designating our high five zone! If you are in it you are expected to participate..if you don’t you appear mean #122edchat
A4: If @RupBoysDad were here tonight he would answer Monster Drinks, but honestly I'd like to set aside some more time to collaborate. We had our first early release day today, so I'm excited about how we can use that time in the future. #122edchat
Singing, dancing, movement. #122edchat I love finding songs for content and hearing the kids sing along. I love it even more when there are dance moves to go with it... it usually comes with a smile.
A4: I need a bit more variety in my lessons I think. I'm still working on my pacing b/c my morning class and my afternoon class are at different levels. @Iluvcaldwell also helped me increase the rigor in one of my lessons the other day and the energy level went up!! #122edchat
A3 Sense of humor! Engaging activities! Including kids’ feedback re: how to make things work for them. I’m really getting a kick out of using #EduProtocols 8 Parts Grammar which incorporates memes. Kids contribute memes to write about Giggles & very creative writing. #122edchat
A4 Choice. Students get excited to work on skills, ideas and concepts based on their interests and using their authentic voice. It also is exciting for me because I get to bring all my experience and knowledge to the art room every day. #122edchat
Thank you, Alana! I'm excited about the activities! Some of them come from what I'm learning in the Yale happiness class I am taking right now.
#122edchat
Have to scoot #122edchat- at my daughters volleyball game! Thanks @StantonAlana for a great chat- love all the way we start our days to be there for our kids!!
A4 I think I will use more music as ‘background noise’…. We’re really into Bob Marley right now - totally on accident too. We just learned #NoticeAndNote Signposts, used Marley’s “3 Little Birds” for Words of the Wiser signpost… it’s now how we combat nerves! #122edchat
I am going to run the marathon with my 4th grade team. We will lean on each other. Grow together. Push each other. Of course I will always have @StantonAlana to push and motivate me this year with whatever crazy idea I have. #122edchat
A5. The Earth Science department and my fellow Environmental teacher have already shown so much support and passion. I am literally in the best place I could be in my district. #iprep#122edchat
A5: I so many people to help motivate me. I have championed up with @DesrosiersEryka to support my personla goal of getting back on track with exercise and balance within myself. I am so grateful for her support! #122edchat
A4 tomorrow I am announcing that there will be two purple cones (school colors) in the hallway designating our high five zone! If you are in it you are expected to participate..if you don’t you appear mean #122edchat
A4 Be excited about what you do and find that joy and passion you once had. Faking it won’t work, kids see through that! Find it and fall in love with teaching again. #122edchat
A4 tomorrow I am announcing that there will be two purple cones (school colors) in the hallway designating our high five zone! If you are in it you are expected to participate..if you don’t you appear mean #122edchat
A2
Good mornings, hugs, high fives, etc. look forward to my good morning welcomes every morning! Helps us restart each day, no matter what happened the day before.
Let’s them know we are a stable and safe environment for them no matter where they are coming from.
#122Edchat
A5- Only one person? Too hard! I work with an awesome admin team and a district full of really cool teachers in Addison. They keep me motivated! #122edchat
A5 I have a second year senior who gets individual instruction from me because I refuse to give up. He shows up and gets lunch and we get into government #122edchat
A5: @KalchbrennerELA is on this crazy ride of mastery learning with me this year! She's been great with keeping me going and helping me think through stuff! And of course @_on11 for always loving my crazy ideas! #122Edchat
A3: I recently started promoting the My Name, My Identity Pledge Challenge at my school. Names are our identities, let’s make sure we try our best to appreciate them and understand that they define who we are and who our Ss are. #122edchat
A4: Energy?!! I don’t need any more of that. Perhaps a little more method to my madness and help sorting out all my crazy ideas, by energy- no. 😂 but then again, that’s what @ScottOste is for!!! #122edchat
A5 Definitely my team. We bat around ideas and talk through issues. I don't know if an evening has gone by where we aren't texting into the night, planning. #122edchat#LuckyTeacher
I taught 1st for 5-6 years then 6th grade...no difference...twice as tall, twice as old, but needs are the same. Gotta keep movin' and groovin' all the same. #122edchat
Do you think you would implement this more with activity choice or learning material options? Both, I think, would be positive for students. Some of my fondest school memories include activity choice. #122edchat
Yes! I just made a giant multiplication problem board for my students to physically walk the steps and it totally made the break through for two students. Movement is key for some learners. #122edchat
A5: There are others, but the person who comes to mind first right now is you, @StantonAlana! I appreciate the support you give me! I hope you know I'm here to support the work you are doing!
#122edchat
A5 im fortunate! I have @RACzyz and the whole #4ocfpln plus @DonnaADonner and @jdolci plus my whole Twitter PLN to keep up all the goodness of education. Plus my book comes out this December and am sure I will be meeting a whole slew of great educators when it does...#122edchat
A4- Energy starts within us! If you don't feel the fire, you can't bring it to your classroom. Take time for yourself so you can be there for your students! #122edchat
A3: Recognize, reward and motivate as many students as possible but have fun while doing it. Be genuine, be fun and set the tone and pace. As the old saying goes, “when the principal sneezes, the school catches a cold.” #122edchat
A5 I want to shout out my @CravenCoSchools colleagues for being a great source of motivation....especially the past two weeks. Our team has been working nonstop to help families get back on their feet. Truly fortunate to work beside each individual in our district. #122edchat
#122edchat A5. My new partner in crime past year ...she joined last year and charged up the department. A 60 year old firework she is....not on Twitter Shikha. ...is the best thing that happened to me and my teaching so far .
A5 I have been working with @mrsalisonstein on our reading programs. Though we teach different grade levels, our minds are set on the value of reading widely and deeply, so she and I champion reading together! #122edchat
We are so thankful for you guys, all of you. You help us daily see the good, see how we can be better, and see our purpose. Thank YOU from Mike and I.
@eduminimalist#122edchat
A5 #122edchat I just got my first letter from my teacher pen pal @OCSBBrooks! I’m looking forward to a year full of motivation and support in our letters. What a great idea to connect educators, by @cpoole27.
@4XSoccermom#122edchat one thing that I’ve tried it having students take walks with their partners to discuss their ideas for writing, talk about the new concept, answer a question. Many times instead of turning and talking on the rug, we can go for a walk and talk.

A2: To my Ss who need that extra boost, I make sure to say, “I believe in YOU. I’m so happy to see you here today. I hope you have a wonderful day. Visit me at the end of the day to tell me about your adventures at school.” #122Edchat#positivethinking
@StantonAlana and @eduminimalist knocked it out of the park tonight! Right back in the saddle as the fantastic moderator duo! What a team! ❤️👍😉 #122edchat
