Q1: There is a great amount of data available - how do you ensure that you have the RIGHT data?

A1 Make sure it is accurate and meaningful to the task. Too much/meaningless data muddies the waters.

A1. We need questions before we look for answers… what data do you really want?

A1: I think the best data is not a one time snapshot. It needs to give a picture of the daily learning/growing in our classrooms

A1. Educational data needs to have a qualitative component. and is critical
-
Q2: It's vital when we make decisions our reasoning is clear. What steps do you take to make sure stakeholders understand the "why"?

A2. Journal… Journal… Journal… Write down conversations… write down facts… write down the decision process

A2. Make sure stakeholders are upheld as worthy in the process… give them a voice, listen, and affirm who they are

A2. Consistency… decisions must be based on vision, policy, and past decisions… stay the course

Q3: How do you ensure that decisions reflect the vision and culture of your school and community?

A3. Don’t think of decisions as reflecting culture… think of decisions as building culture

A3. Decisions reflect vision and build culture

A3. The vision must be the culture… the vision must be front & centre everyday, or visionary decisions won’t be seen as relevant

A3. As I reflect on good decisions… good decisions are based on what you do everyday, which is reflected in the decision itself

Q4: What steps do you take to delegate responsibility and build the capacity of others?

Q5: Planning is important but they can often get lost in the grind. How do you keep plans at the forefront of change in your school?
