First question...
Q1) Green screens…how does producing green screen videos benefit students? https://t.co/034B18lEoT
-
A1 it helps Ss that trouble with writing still create valuable learning options. It takes video to next level with more interaction
-
Cristol, librarian from Chattanooga.
-
I agree! Valuable way for kids to tell a story!
-
A1) Sts are able to produce digital work which is much more easily shared. Also, sparks their creativity.
-
-
-
A1: Haven’t had much chance to use with students, but would be great for creativity. Want to try
-
A1: Green screens provide the chance to manipulate settings, time and place. So many ways to create with those variables.
-
I am looking forward to trying out a green screen next week.
-
-
-
We'd love to see how it turns out!
-
A2 I love green screen, easy to use, great online tutorials and quick to master on iPad to capture/YouTube
-
A2) I LOVE for its simplicity. I also use iMovie when needed.
-
A2: I think will be the way I go, has anyone else played with it?
-
-
so I should just buy it now, huh?
-
it's my favorite. Elementary Ss can own it in no time!
-
I <3 it big time. It's so easy my kinders can use it.
-
A1. Provides the opportunity for them to be 'directors' of their learning. Actions, really do speak louder than wds
-
Great resource Glenn! Thanks for sharing!
-
I mean, no peer pressure, but YES YOU SHOULD.
-
Me, too. I probably try next week.
-
-
maybe will see this and send me a promo code?
-
A3)School in digital age requires internet access. Sts w/o are at a disadvantage. Would be like not having textbooks in years past.
-
-
From high tech. to low tech. provides great tips on setup & how he produces videos using it. https://t.co/VsdvufGPoP
-
You never know! They are great about giving free codes to give away at presentations.
-
One is to see that there has been reached on the community and societal context.
-
-
umm, because it’s inequitable
-
A3. For the very reason there is supply and demand issues. The main objective of distributors is MAKING MONEY.
-
Q3) Sts w/ connected devices have all the knowledge of the world in their pocket. Sts w/o connected devices...don't.
-
A3: Digital equity is a problem from the supply side & user side. Lack of equity can provide less opportunities in educ. & career
-
-
-
A3 Having internet access is a huge need. Wondering about places in the community where folks can get free access. Library? School
-
-
I believe I'll add that to my calendar. ;)
-
it's amazing how the 'connected' are the most disconnected socially.
-
That can be true, not always though.
-
A4: The answer is probably not. This has been a problem from the start - the haves and have nots. Economics drives it as one said.
-
A4) Digital equity can be helped w/ mobile hotspot programs, partnering w/ businesses & using school assets creatively.
-
A4 Tech institution making it readily available to ALL learning institutions and learners w/ more than myopic goals
-
True, my Gdaughter is always connected, but remains active in theatre, band, flag, piano, softball, and more
-
-
Sadly, I feel like you're right. But as educators I feel like we can't give up.
-
-
That would be fun! I've had a connection w/ him since he was teaching with handheld computers
-
A5 As you know it is the first course taught in our computer lab via Moodle
-
It's def a big problem to solve.
-
-
True. In the school setting we should advocate for equity for all.
-
It is an ongoing lesson that presents itself through all too often real life situations with our 3,4,5 graders
-
Yes! I've worked with rural schools & that was a helpful solution.
-
A5. ALL ways. As Technology is not going anywhere but is evident everywhere, digital citizenship should be cross Curricula
-
Very true. The best lessons are through the lens of real life.
-
A5) W/ K-2, I talk abt using internet as a tool to learn. Also, show them work will be seen globally thru https://t.co/KysOxzDQGf.
-
many times it's the lower grades that 'get it' and the higher/adults believe they're invincible /know it all
-
I feel like that statement applies to so many topics.
-
-
-
Just home from school and jumping in for a few minutes - Marifran, hs librarian from NY
-
-
A6: Ditch the desks! Paint the walls for green screen! Let kids learn anywhere!
-
A5: teach directly thru lessons but more often w real-world examples provided by Ss, Ts, Ps, the media
-
A5: All the time in every area - help Ts & Ss see it's an identity issue - how do we practice as citizens well & safely
-
A5 It begins day 1 in Kindergarten. Use & to begin to model "how to" have conversations globally/outside of Kinder.
-
A6) alternative seating choices, variety of working surfaces, places for collaboration & individual work, place for presentations
-
A6: a space that lets a teacher do her best teaching and students do their best learning
-
-
-
Yep. Let's just be good people. All the time and everywhere.
-
-
Thanks for sharing! I know ; will be checking out the Twitter in Kindergarten resource!
-
Really, let's just make all the walls green. At least 1. Then we don't have to worry about 'going off the screen.' ;P
-
It's amazing & offers opportunities for students & families to connect & reflect on learning.
-
-
-
for you reading & sharing. Technology has really enriched/ enhanced learning for me, my Ss & families.
-
Nice. This is one of those Twitter chats that will end w/ me having a ton of tabs open to check out later.
-
I'm really excited to present at this year. Nervous! But excited!
-
A7: I think flexible learning spaces help Ss get to know themselves better as learners
-
A7: allows for creativity and engagement
-
Yes, plus there's just something abt Sts all over the room learning vs. in rows/desks that makes me happy.
-
-
A8) & add a new dimension to any learning experience. Any time learning is exciting, understanding is deeper.
-
A8: My girlfriend, was selected for an VR grant that I’m hoping to get to “help” with!
-
