As we begin our school year, I’m looking for resources to assist other educators on culturally responsive teaching. I appreciate your assistance. #edumatch#diverselearning#wearecue
A2-Initially I thought it should be education should be or should have been several years ago.
Also, it says that learning can take place beyond the four walls of a classroom. #EduMatch
Q5. What would you advocate for in the future of Ed leader preparation? What are your fundamental assumptions, beliefs, or principles regarding preparing educational leaders? How might those translate in online learning?#EduMatch

I love this discussion topic. It reminds that we never stop learning/growing no matter the role we take on. Once a teacher, always a teacher. I think it's important for school leaders to model & keep learning to stay updated & relevant.

Q7. What are examples of inclusive pedagogies that Ed Leaders need to experience in their development? How do we translate effective pedagogical approaches that are inclusive of all learners into online spaces? What is “critical digital pedagogy”? #EduMatch

A4-Virtual Learning provides opportunities for all students to have access to learning that they may not be able to in a traditional environment.
It allows learners to connect and share in unprecedented ways regardless of geographic location and access to experts. #EduMatch

The question also makes me wonder why some ed leaders continue learning & engaging while others do not. If we expect teachers to stay relevant in PD then all school leaders should too in some way so they can support, coach, & lead. #edumatch#learningleaders
RT edu_match: Catch us at the top of the hour as we chat with #EduMatch authors. Tuesday at 5:30 ET we chat with kevinpchavous, President of K12learn. We return on 9.16 with a discussion on #GBL moderated by MatthewFarber. Watch: … https://t.co/2XvnKygk09
A3 Provide choice but also be aligned to whatever state/district requirements are needing to be fulfilled. Where are the best places to engage in virtual learning? What are the options? Are there webinars? Tweet talks? Podcasts?

Make choice paramount. Provide options. Perhaps consider edcamp/unconferency style learning opportunities. EdChange Global is great. Use multiple modalities or access types - video, audio, in person, online, phone. There are so many ways of learning. Be flexible. #edumatch

A tough but needed question because if you do an accelerated program that's designed to help you get the basic to pass a cert exam then you might miss the depth of leadership pedagogy, so I'd say add time to practice leading/growing/collaborating w/ed leaders #edumatch

A6-I think too often we think something new has to replace something, but we should consider it as another tool to use to prepare educators.
Change is a constant...now it is up to us to make sure leaders are prepared to positively more forward. #learn#relearn#EduMatch
Perhaps be clear about what it means to be and education administrator versus and education leader. One might be seen as just managing programs while the latter is geared toward developing/empowering people to do better or best. #edumatch#learningleaders

Yes! we're always learning beyond the classroom. Why do we expect teachers students to NOT do this always. Technology & how we live is constantly changing, & we need to stay in the know and able to navigate school, culture, religion, politics - all beyond. #edumatch#leadlearn

A5-Use and application of more #technology & innovative practices in their personal & professional lives. Also, more situational learning that relates more to life outside of education.
Edu Leaders must be able to #learn, #unlearn, & #relearn. #EduMatch

There is a difference, I think, between administration & leadership preparation. I think you may need both, but leadership drives change more than simply managing programs. Maybe we change the way we think about education being more than management of things #edumatch#learnlead

Everyone has something to share. Let's learn and grow together. Be like Bob, and see how easy it is to sign up as a panelist for an #EduMatch Tweet & Talk! https://t.co/p4mv9AhegD
Right. When we don't then we become hindrance not help, complainer and naysayer rather than risk taker and encourager. We have to be able to shift forward and out of whatever keeps us from growing and making impact. #edumatch#learningleaders
As for barriers, education leaders cannot and should not and MUST not downplay learning especially and mostly when it DOES NOT fit the traditional sit-&-get. We need to be able to demo/model flexibility, adaptability, & willingness to learn. #edumatch#learningleader

Which also means not squashing teacher's ideas to break from tradition or mandates, to take a learning risk,& certainly NO poo-pooing their ideas & strides to make shift happen so more students learn and grow or walk into their potential #edumatch#learningleaders
Andplusalsotoo, it is REALLY hard to trust & believe school leaders who don't make ongoing learning a priority. It's even worse when they don't share ideas or when they hoard ideas as a means of demonstrating being in charge instead of using knowledge to equip. #edumatch
Another potential barrier is a mental one which is more like hypocrisy - do as I say not as I do. Teachers don't like that - at least I never did. I ALWAYS grew with school leaders who cultivated a lifelong learning culture, sharing of ideas, walking WITH us #edumatch#leadlearn
