So, I had the pleasure of attending some PD events in the last 2 weeks - the Teaching Learning Coaching Conference, the Soluciones Conference, and the Family and Community Engagement Conference. #IDedchat
Yes. The willingness to be uncomfortable. It really takes courage to be that way. When that happens, you are prone to be vulnerable and maybe actually learn/benefit from something. #idedchat
If we are able to step out of our comfort zone, we learn along with the students. If we are complacent, then the students do not benefit much. #idedchat
A2: By sharing your vision with those that can make it happen. This then gets buy-in and ultimately leads to team learning and a systematic approach toward success. #idedchat
When we think "vision" - this deals with the courage to lead - leadership doesn't just fall in the laps of administrators. We all can be leaders in our own strengths. #IDedchat
By sharing your vision with the students and hope they buy-into the process, then leads to teamwork in the classroom, and thinking systematically at the overall approach/reason you're teaching #idedchat
But in building a shared vision, it's nice to have some that don't necessarily think like you. Gain different perspectives and see all possible outcomes. #idedchat
I agree with this, especially nowadays with how simple it is to be simply entertained. Easy to consume rather than challenge yourself to learn. #IDedchat
One of the conditions of dialogue is love - to see the best in each other. In order to help each other become the best versions of ourselves. #TLCVegas18
I don't know if anyone else has had a challenging student *cough their name under your breath* but learning to find something to at least like of them can help the connection #IDedchat
A4: @jimknight99 talks about love as engaging the will for the good of another - it is connection with our students so that we can help them see the best in themselves. #IDedchat
And many times this take courage - we default to our own belief/moral judgements...it take courage to step outside ourselves and see life from the perspective of another. #IDedchat
I'll admit, I haven't read about @jimknight99 's discussion of this. I feel like this can come naturally with Ts. I ran into a former 2nd grader from 16 years ago. He yelled out my name, in a good tone this time. I don't think I worked toward that back then. #IDedchat
