Q1. How does your staff divide up opponent scout film breakdown responsibilities?
-
RT Q1 -->Q1. How does your staff divide up opponent scout film breakdown responsibilities? https://t.co/uAy8GjOlrs
-
-
Q1. How does your staff divide up opponent scout film breakdown responsibilities?
-
A1: Split up by coaches what to break down. Some do down and distance, hash, etc... I'll do formations and plays of opponent
-
a1: I watch opp D overall. I have the QB/WR focus on secondary and O line watches film with me for fronts/blitz
-
A1 OC and DC break down they opponents and then meet with HC to discuss and analyse game plans
-
A1: Then DL is responsible for breaking down favorite runs. Secondary is responsible for favorite pass
-
A1. Frosh coaches do ODK, D&D, formation and play, O coaches look at front, stunt, and cov. D does what they do
-
A1: break it up with opposite of position. I watch LBs also just for my own benefit
-
A1 we use HUDL. Each coach has a column - down/distance/etc...
-
A1:watch film as staff. Breakdown plays and concepts together. Then position groups focuses on details.
-
A1) I like to do it all because it gives me more opportunities to watch my opponents. I do D&D, then do formations and plays.
-
A1. Our JV staff will input on hudl for all our offensive plays scripted then Indy groups will break up grade/ o staff group
-
ours is very similar, we also try to use MS coaches. Helps with data analysis
-
A1: I usually do everything. Have one guy on CPU and I am watching on projector and I am calling stuff out.
-
https://t.co/4YhVbMTcPd
-
-
A1 each have a set of data we are responsible. also responsible for tendencies involving that data.Ex: formations, motions, etc
-
Similar to most staffs each coach has responsibilities. Some more breakdown done for playoffs/big games. https://t.co/RVLRnxK3iw
-
-
Q1. How does your staff divide up opponent scout film breakdown responsibilities?
-
A1) O-line takes front, stunt, blitz, strength; Slots/WR take coverage
-
A1) Data capture: ODK, run/pass, d&distance,,,,,,,,all divide amongst coaches.
-
Eddie Young, HC/OC Lajeunesse HS, Windsor, ON
-
seriously? Is this just for your part? Or for the full staff breakdown?
-
A1: Young guys watch and they can see what I am looking at. Etc. Good for them too.
-
We use hudl scout the opponent. OL coach fronts/stunts WR coverages / RB- blitzes Qb- tendencies D&D
-
a1: I also look for the finer details- how aggressive secondary is vs. play action, corner leverage, etc https://t.co/lYNpnvIWZv
-
-
Q1. How does your staff divide up opponent scout film breakdown responsibilities?
-
Q2. What are the top 3 things in your opponent's offense/defense scout film that you use to prepare your game plan?
-
Always impressed w amnt of work/time football coaches put in! would llike to make life a little easier on you guys!
-
Definitely want to see if we can get a safety to bite
-
A1: each coach has a specific breakdown duty. Makes the workload much easier to manage
-
-
A1) cont...our position coaches will look at their respective positions after breakdown is done. Than we sit down as a D staff.
-
DC & OC cross check their same side of the ball, as a DC I see things from a defensive angle.
-
A2 defensively we look for tendencies on down/distance, percentages of plays from formations, and run/pass keys
-
I will always remember this article that said if you want the defense to bite, pull a guard!
-
Is anyone a part of a staff that breaks down film together? It's hard to do with the amount of time constraints
-
A2) Base defense, where do they declare strength, top blitz/stunt
-
A1:believer in breaking things down into individual columns.Try not to group things together in 1. Helps with understanding data
-
we will break down our own film together, but not the upcoming opponent
-
A2) Top plays(run&spass), formations, explosive plays.
-
A1. Each coach has responsibilities to input
Dn dist hash formation front coverage before lunch.
Eat as staff let last game play
-
Top 5 plays, Play direction, strong/weak. Teams go to their bread and butter when the heat is on! https://t.co/DHWgroRLVK
-
-
Q2. What are the top 3 things in your opponent's offense/defense scout film that you use to prepare your game plan?
-
A2: For OL, I'm looking at how they align the front to our formations, how the LBs play, and where/when stunts come
-
a2: 1) I look for top DL/LB/C/S 2)fronts and coverages vs my formations 3)Weak links on the D https://t.co/NnOctAqmD6
-
-
Q2. What are the top 3 things in your opponent's offense/defense scout film that you use to prepare your game plan?
-
A1: defensive coaches divided the work. I do formation play, another coach d&d, other coach play type
-
A2: blitzes, fronts, coverages against similar plays to find gaps and holes
-
A2) Like to look at D&D, formation, field, direction tendencies and go to plays in certain situations.
-
we will look at the next opponent film together and look at what we have as a unit / we will go into more detail
-
A2) top plays/formations, alignment to formations, best players/players to take advantage o
-
A1 cont.
watch Opp Def as Off Staff each coach has positions they watch.
RB-LB
WR-CB
OL-DL
QB-FS
-
They're talking breaking down film on - jump on over.
-
A2: Formation and Personnel and what they love to do.
-
JH/Freshman staff break down both sides of the ball using HUDL. Formation, play, strength, etc.
-
A2 top plays(run&pass), formations, run tendency (field or formation strength)
-
A2: as an OL coach, I want to see
1. Who's their best and worst player
2. The tendencies in their slants
3. Their fav blitzes
-
A2) top plays/formations, alignment to formations, best players/players to take advantage of
-
A2. We will look at what declares their strength & their weaknesses on defense. What they will do with motions and shifts
-
-
A2 cont... defensively look to see if they have any auto checks for formations, blitzing tendency, fronts
-
A2: What they like to do on D&D, Field, Boundary.
-
A2: A.formations,B. back field sets, C. Field/boundary C1. Strg/Wk direction C2. Situation ex: after explosive, check w/me, etc.
-
Don't forget to add the hashtag to your tweets! Everybody can learn from you!
-
As we watch play to play we all talk about what our position keys do.
Best/worst player
Leverage
Soft zones
Areas of weakness
-
The only way a coach can get better imho.
-
140 characters not enough to explain.
-
are you watching as a full or split staff?
-
Terminology I like to use is will help your staff b more efficient and give you more time for game planning!
-
A2: I look at top 5 formations most run plays and explosive plays
-
Q3. What do you need/wish your technology could do that it does not do now?
-
multiple tweets to explain are welcome!
-
A2: like to look at front. How they play to certain formations. How they roll coverages.
-
John Mitchell DBs/CBs Midwest City HS Midwest City OK. What's good fellas??!!
-
After all the data is in, I want to watch the game as a whole. Feel, context can be very important,
-
https://t.co/AcpNB8UZbm
-
-
we watch as Offensive Staff and Defensive staff split.
The game we watch at Lumch and just let play through is as a full staff
-
How do you decide which game to just play through?
-
A3. If they could some how match our plays that are already stored in the database so we wouldn't have to do input again
-
Data input!! Cant stand it. Necessary evil. Some big plays at our school have been from film study. https://t.co/amxwUPKTHW
-
-
Q3. What do you need/wish your technology could do that it does not do now?
-
RT Q3 -->Q3. What do you need/wish your technology could do that it does not do now? https://t.co/SBR1RI8TbB

Q3. What do you need/wish your technology could do that it does not do now?
-
The search feature of is very nice, sharing clips or whole films is super easy. https://t.co/jFJXJqoO6w
-
-
Terminology I like to use is will help your staff b more efficient and give you more time for game planning!
-
A1: Our O & D coordinators assign our film duties such as D & D, O & D & etc...
-
A3: do everything for me.
-
A3. Cont...as well as match up players for stats once you input their numbers
-
Thanks for the input Coach. How long have you guys been using our service?
-
A3)I would like the refine search to be able to search multiple films, without making separate cut ups.
-
A3) read my mind so I don't have to type!!!
-
A3: Front recognition/memory...kinda like Facebook's face recognition....that's what I want
-
A2: D/D- Hash-Formation and what zone on the field they do things. I have 5 call sheets for the 5 different zones.
-
That would save some time.
-
A3: I've learned from our OC who is a bonafide film guru, that there isn't a lot film won't do, you just have to tinker with it
-
A2. Offensively I want to know how they line up to our formations.
How often they blitz/stunt
Who they are trying to hide
-
Ha! We are very close to providing that for you!!! Would love to show you a demo. Only take 15-20 minutes
-
1 year, I don't think the kids or assistance full embraced it, but (HC/OC) & I(DC) did,
-
Chat moving fast? Missed something and want to go back? Just wait for the archive! Posted tomorrow on https://t.co/f5lk6qYuf8
-
A3: only complaint I ever have is the buffering time during peak hours.
-
A3: do all the ODK d&d play and even highlight players if I click on them and send them individual notes they can only see
-
A3: Wish there was a cheap way to have an end zone camera.
-
Q4. What kind of physical reports do you utilize during game planning?
-
A1 for the most part i broke things down by myself. Defense would make notes on their own clips, i did all the entry.
-
A3: think film can do anything you need it to. Just tinker. Mindless data entry is zero fun though.
-
Following my family and I drive home from South Texas. Lots of great ideas! Preparation is a vital key to success!
-
A3) Wish on the app could put in data. Would be easier at times to use tablet. makes things lot easier though.
-
we have updated and added a lot for the upcoming season so I believe all will love now!
-
amen to that. I hate side view. Drives me nuts and I can never see everything.
-
A3 I wish the video would automatically skip through the 30 sec of offensive players staring at sideline!
-
RT Q4 -->Q4. What kind of physical reports do you utilize during game planning? https://t.co/ys9G84cx4i
-
-
Q4. What kind of physical reports do you utilize during game planning?
-
unfortunately we are both no longer at WHS, I'd love to see a demo of the improvements
-
A2: Offensively I want to 1st know, are they a 5 man box or 6 man box vs out formations?
-
-
A4: On O, we don't actually run any reports on the opponent. We look at self-scout reports to check our own tendencies
-
A4. Formation Alignment
Down Distance Blitz Tendencies.
Self Scout Reports to break tendencies or add new plays off of.
-
Our middle school guys enter all D&D Hash, Yard Line, play direction, play type, result, etc. Thankful for those guys!'
-
A2 D - Front, Cov, Playmakers. O - Run scheme, Route combos, Play makers.
-
A4: size, how they come off the ball, year and experience, and how they look in the 4th.
-
THIS! MS and 9th coaches are more helpful than they may realize https://t.co/6gXLdJR1W2
-
-
Our middle school guys enter all D&D Hash, Yard Line, play direction, play type, result, etc. Thankful for those guys!'
-
A4) I know hudl reports will do way more than I ask, truthfully I export to excel & work from there,
-
A3: Hudl is light years better than DSV, that's what we used when I was a GA @ Langston University back in 2010!!!
-
A3 sometimes HUDL is screwy on my MAC
-
a4: Good thing about is a lot of HS def. play base so not many reports. I run reports for blitzes https://t.co/cUYp6n1oMB
-
-
Q4. What kind of physical reports do you utilize during game planning?
-
A4. On sideline we have more of a self scout script following what we are doing well & not so well / we also try to add tackler
-
A4 summary, formation and down and distance
-
A4: We do D&D, Hash, formation ,strength, play.
-
End zone worth every $, sell some of the beautiful smoked meat you are always showing off, https://t.co/Zgnt7Uklhd
-
-
amen to that. I hate side view. Drives me nuts and I can never see everything.
-
O coaches, what reports will you run on the opponent's D?
-
Endzone view may be one of the best inventions ever. https://t.co/2bvfxNPEVR
-
-
A3: Wish there was a cheap way to have an end zone camera.
-
A4: we look at formation, D&D reports, & a general summary off
-
blitzes, line stunts, alignment vs our formations
-
A4) reports for blitz tendencies by down, coverage tendencies by formation and D&D
-
Q5. How far out do you gameplan for an opponent? What gameplan work do you perform each week?
-
Formation Align,
Do Dist, Blitz Tend
Self Scout Reports to break tendencies or add new plays off of. https://t.co/3IO9UFkevt
-
-

Q5. How far out do you gameplan for an opponent? What gameplan work do you perform each week?
-
just about anything, fronts, formation, blitz, stunts, strength, best guys, worst guys, holes in the D
-
A3: Wish you could enter data/film breakdown in app.
-
a5: Depends on when we get film.Hate to start working on next opp. when we have opponent friday night https://t.co/R7FuCUeHJo
-
-
Q5. How far out do you gameplan for an opponent? What gameplan work do you perform each week?
-
A5: We do everything the weekend before we play them. Focus on the current opponent before moving to the next
-
A5. We will begin input of information on Thur prior to Saturday work. I'm not smart enuf to keep game plans separate in head
-
A5: Every Saturday. Sometimes I will sleep in the FH from Friday Night into Saturday. Then we meet at 8am and work until done.
-
Coach Smith at Webb City was showing/talking about his reports, I was so ashamed I couldn't make eye contact
-
A5 game plan for next opp begins Sat after team film. We trade film night before on HUDL. Breakdown begins at noon
-
a5: Usually get majority of game plan done on Sat. than after sleep hit it again Sun. for tweaks https://t.co/R7FuCUeHJo
-
-
Q5. How far out do you gameplan for an opponent? What gameplan work do you perform each week?
-
A5: depends on the opponent
-
Prob shouldnt say this, depends on the game. State title week? I knew what kids were eating 4 breakfast. https://t.co/yAAVJqGCA8
-
-
RT Q5 -->Q5. How far out do you gameplan for an opponent? What gameplan work do you perform each week? https://t.co/MJrv5KzywE

-
Q5. How far out do you gameplan for an opponent? What gameplan work do you perform each week?
-
A5 definitely wont start prepping for an opponent more than a week out from the game
-
A5: I make a chart of types of defenses/ coverages we see as soon as schedule is finalized. Helps decide how O is designed
-
A5: It's depends on who we R playing that current week. If we R playing a team we will smash we will work on a tuff future opp.
-
A3 I wish Hudl had more customizable options. Some auto fills for basic categories would be nice too.
-
A2: Big 4 Runs, Top 6 Pass combos from top formations, & work on us being better as a team each week!
-
A5 the day after our previous game.
-
A5) I usually start like Weds/Thurs night of the week before breaking down opponents get a head start.
-
A5) I hate working ahead, but sometimes with weekend conflicts, you have to get a head start. Write in pencil when I do,
-
A5: we breakdown previous years game in offseason, scout what they hurt us with & start with finding answers for next time...
-
What will you do that early in the process?
-
A5: for example week 0 we play a wing T so our D is going to start prepping a few months out.
-
-
A5) for film breakdown as soon as we get it; game plan happens on Saturday for our next opponent.
-
can help get that head start in the opponent breakdown process! Use us and competitor together to gain advantage!!!
-
Q6. If you outsourced the film tagging, how would this help your gameplanning? Practicing?
-
RT Q6 -->Q6. If you outsourced the film tagging, how would this help your gameplanning? Practicing? https://t.co/dfvDtmCtcT
-
-
Q6. If you outsourced the film tagging, how would this help your gameplanning? Practicing?
-
What program do you guys use for your playbook?
-
A5 Start prepping for the game as soon the last game ends.
-
A6 I enjoy game tagging. I get a feel for a team and their tendencies from tagging myself.
-
A6. The problem I see with this is that now I get film back with reports in terminology we don't use with our kids.
-
A6: Personally, I like breaking down formation & Play gives me a thought of what to expect...what goes together for opponent.
-
-
It would be the greatest gift ive ever been given. Could focus specifically on game plan and practice! https://t.co/YuKcmblAbz
-
-
Q6. If you outsourced the film tagging, how would this help your gameplanning? Practicing?
-
Some day, https://t.co/VeeEpBCI6G
-
-
A5: It's depends on who we R playing that current week. If we R playing a team we will smash we will work on a tuff future opp.
-
a6: Looked into prog. that auto scripts, but the prog. doesn't know what I need to change for next prac. https://t.co/DrUB6TJgVQ
-
-
Q6. If you outsourced the film tagging, how would this help your gameplanning? Practicing?
-
A6. Problem is terminology for the kids would be different than what the staff would be teaching to the young men.
-
pen and paper lol I don't trust computers
-
A6: I could get right into the tendency report to plan my focus for practice
-
A6) I'm not sure how this is possible with different terminology being used from coach to coach...
-
A6: Call me old school but I wouldn't outsource it. That's just me.
-
we now allow you to input your own terminology and its saved, tagged and statted the rest of the season!
-
A6 it would definitely be time consuming but I would have to agree that you get more out of breaking down yourself
-
Great job tonight! Y'all put a lot of work in tonight and each week!
-
A6) it was like picking up another asst coach. But the terms are a little cumbersome, we still used hudl for everyone else
-
absolutely!!! Please let me know if you would like to see a demo: trey@krossover.com
-
-
-
I did look at breaking down basketball games for in the off season for a little $$,
-
A6 cont'd) it would allow us to spend more time focusing on game planning.
-
-
-
I appreciate everyones help on the playbook! You guys are awesome!
-
-
absolutely but why not have the best of both worlds? Use us n tandem. Our pricing is a low as just $499 for 10 games!
-
anyone but I know guys that do it in off season, if I don't find a job, it will be me
