We had a surprise stillborn on Friday. The first is due on March 17 but I've had perfectly healthy ones born a month early. Have the mums to be isolated and getting a good feed #bfc530
Wish I could say I am well-rested, but stayed up late to watch Scott and Tessa win gold last night in Olympic Ice Dance...it was worth it! 👍😊🇨🇦😍 #bfc530

during times of tragedy it is easy to focus on the bad and what went wrong, but sometimes time you need to change your perspective and focus on what went right ... there is good there. #bfc530
Hi #bfc530! I have a question for us.....the ice dancers sometimes make obvious, public mistakes and then keep going. How do we move past embarrassing mistakes in our work?
Sorry to hear! (I'm only giggling because it reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when Keith Hernandez asks Jerry to move his furniture with him and it causes much stress!) #bfc530
Chris,my wife and I have been talking about the spectacle it was & the life lessons learned from it all weekend. We have also got our daughters into the songs #bfc530
#bfc530 I write (the old fashioned way) thank you notes for colleagues who do nice things, I try to tweet out nice things about colleagues, and I make it a point to say nice things about other #teachers in front of #students
Definitely mourns. She keeps going back to where she delivered him and sniffing the ground. I've seen one run like crazy for days after losing her cria #bfc530
Find out one of their favorite snacks & give it to them, offer to team up with them to teach a lesson, or something as simple as a hand-written thank you note. #bfc530
I think it's important to show appreciation face to face right after someone has helped. A follow up email or note is also a good way to show that you really mean it. #bfc530
1. Remembering to actually say thanks in any form. 2. Brag about them in a conversation with other colleagues (when they are present in the same conversation). 3. Have their favorite chilled school beverage waiting for them in the lounge refrigerator. #bfc530
I think you show appreciation by being willing to go the extra yard for them, even when it isn't reciprocated. When you work on a team of ppl like that, magic happens #bfc530
An email, a text or a note; a hug in the hallway, an small unexpected gift, a lunch... a little goes a long way in letting someone know you are grateful for them. #bfc530
One way to show appreciation to colleagues ( besides telling them, of course ) is to tell your Ss. Let them know how Ts/adults need to work together, and let them shower them with positive feedback too #bfc530
Last week my husband send me flowers for Valentine’s Day. I put some in the dept office and also have some to a colleague who covered my class. I haven’t been in school since last Thursday, so the rest are probably dead by now... #bfc530
It’s about the little things...keeping it simple, avoiding taking what we have for granted, being grateful for those around us and all they do to lift us, and others, up! #bfc530
#bfc530 I bought some thank you postcards on Amazon at the beginning of the year; writing 1 or 2 at the end of the day takes just a few minutes, and it makes me feel better too. #saythankyou
#bfc530 I want say thank you to all of you also. You are all colleagues via Twitter. I so appreciate these connections as I sit here grading essays. Have a great day, everyone!
1. Thank them privately with a note.
2. Thank them publicly at a faculty meeting or on Twitter.
3. Treat them to breakfast or lunch the next time you go out/order in.

It is so foggy here I can’t see across my street. Scanning twitter and FB for bus cancellations. Last time it was foggy an unloaded bus ran a stop sign. We may also need an arc soon—a huge amount of rain forecasted has rained all night. Time to check my basement! #bfc530
Mistakes are inevitable. We simply have to forgive ourselves and accept others as is. Use dialogue and humility. I always say to my Ts - and about myself - that I’m okay with a 97%. It’s a truth that while fixing known needs, new ones will arise. #bfc530
Strongly believe the arrogance that says “I don’t make mistakes. Neither should you.” Is more embarrassing (especially when they happen) than asking for help with the “what” and “how” or simply saying oops and / or sorry. #bfc530
The word #gratitude should be at the heart of our relationship with Ss, Ts and Ps. The words ‘Thank You!’ Are very powerful and can help build the relationship. The other question to ask is the ‘How can I...’ help? Give you more opportunities? Build a collaborative team?

Morning, #bfc530. While my worst self has been known to throw glares on occasion (Not as intense as this, though: https://t.co/6tCUVZpATq), my best self prefers defusing power of self-deprecating humor.
