CatholicEdChat is a twitter chat. Topics focus on discussions around educational issues for Catholic Educators and topics beneficial to Catholic Schools. We look forward to continuing to connect Catholic Educators online to discuss education and teaching with faith in our schools. The chat takes place on Saturday mornings. Time 9am EST.
#CatholicEdChat Busy CSW2018 week coming up. Mon: St Martin vs St Thomas Aquinas dress day, Tues: mass with Archbishop and all Benedictine students PK-grad school, Wed-Thurs: all School retreat, Fri: St Damian Molokai dress day. It’s also our winter royalty week.
Good morning #CatholicEdChat, I’m a 5th grade T from St. Louis. I am looking for your favorite supplemental materials for religion class. I’m building a professional religious library for K-8. Any suggestions?
Curious to know what readings you are using if you are doing a mass for #CSW18. Is there a standard set? Are you just doing reading of the day? We found a supplant from an Australian school online which helped or planning but didn't see an "official" one out there #CatholicEdChat
Our campus ministry has a nomination form for women of heart, faith, or courage. Students love the opportunity to give shout outs to their classmates. It is a great Catholic School week celebration @Carondelet_HS#CatholicEdChat
Twitter question. On a private account...if you send a tweet to someone you are not following and they aren’t following you but their account is public. Will they see it? #CatholicEdChat
Good morning a little late from Plainfield, IL! Quickly stopping in before sitting in a young alum board meeting this morning. Can’t wait to check in later and see the great discussion! #CatholicEdChat
#CatholicEdchat#participationchat. This past week, I was invited to speak with admin and faculty at 2 different local Catholic Schools about educating students with disabilities. Very happy news.
In arch STL we are celebrating 200 years of education with St.Rose Philippine Duchesene. Flat Philippine traveling around the country. Here are resources https://t.co/ZkBeXXoB6J#CatholicEdChat
You all have suggestions for what are some useful apps that should be on Ts’ and Ss’ iPads? We’re getting iPads for Ts and Apple TV in the next few weeks! #CatholicEdChat
Monday we kick off with a mass, Tuesday is Service Day, Wednesday is our amazing STEM fair, Thursday is our school Olympics, Friday is teacher appreciation day for us #catholicedchat
#CatholicEdChat, here’s what @SMIPSchool will doing next week-a few edits from the last time I shared it! Lots planned with several surprises, too! #CSW18
You said it! This is my favorite week of the year (well, this and our book fair week!) and we are all WIPED by the end!! I handed in my lesson plans Friday and was laughing because they are like a fantasy. Hard to get work in with so much to celebrate daily! 😂 #CatholicEdChat
#CatholicEdchat. Years ago, when I was the principal of an inner-city Catholic School, I had no budget for subs for my faculty. An area Catholic HS sent all the school’s administrators to sub for us so I could give my teachers a luncheon during CSW. It was lovely.
Do you know of an excellent social studies educator or program that deserves recognition?

I’d strongly suggest not getting Apple TVs. Too many issues with dropped connections in school environments - talk to people who have tried them. #catholicedchat
Feel free to DM - it’s a lot easier to know what apps to suggest if we know where your Ts are with tech. I’ve worked with a number of Catholic grammar schools. #CatholicEdChat
How many Apple TV's? We have them in 60 classrooms and there were a lot of issues. We are using @ReflectorApp now, and love it. Also the cost is dramatically less. $12 a license. Runs on Ts computer. #CatholicEdChat

Agreed. I'm guessing that depending on your network strength you wouldn't have many problems if you had 12 or so, and Ts weren't all on at the same time. #CatholicEdChat
We are thrilled to share an exciting opportunity to unite our current students, @BLalumni, Staffulty and ALL families: The BLMobilePack - Feb 2-3, 2018!

CONCERT WITH TONY MELENDEZ
TUESDAY, JANUARY 30TH 2018
MCGONIGLE THEATRE - 7:00 PM
You'll probably be OK then. I think the problems would occur more in high schools where more Ts use them on a daily basis. Need to get those Ts away from so much direct instruct anyway. #CatholicEdChat#StudentCentered
So easy to use. Still working out some ports that need to be opened so Ss can display their iPads, but other than that no issues that aren't corrected in a matter of 2-3 minutes. #CatholicEdChat

Had to go back to school. But I can see it's a better sized conference for me. ISTE just seems so huge! #CatholicEdChat and got to meet a lot of Twitter Rockstars Wednesday evening!
Agreed. I would say that it occurs maybe once a week for 1-2 teachers out of the 15+ that we have on it every day. We were getting disconnect from Apple TV 1-2 times per class period every day. #CatholicEdChat on a 600MB network that average 200-250MB used.
