A1: Wish I could be there at #nsta18! In the upcoming months, I hope to meet with families at my site to share the love of #NGSS. The shift of #CANGSS is so powerful & I hope that by hosting a family night, we will inform parents and guardians of the phenomenal changes #NGSSchat

A1 Problem-Teaching 3D requires huge time commitment some are not willing to make. Opportunity-Keep creating effective PD for those trying to make a difference. #ngsschat
Working with a team developing their own (not from another source) and have been struggling with it being authentically driven from the kids. Using Appendix I and trying to understand the vision of it in the EQuIP rubric, mostly #NGSSChat

A2: The best part of attending a conference are the connections you make with others. At the @cascience conferences, I’m always so grateful to meet or reconnect with science educators who have inspired me or given me new perspectives. #BetterTogether#NGSSChat
I love that vision-- tapping into a student's curiosity. I am always in awe of an elementary teacher's ability to support learning in such an integrated way! #NGSSchat
My draft PD frames the 3 sense-making principles from Bang et al and then engages the room in interpreting the different kinds of sense-making resources learners show evidence of in situations (gestures, mult languages, deep K of practices, etc.). Seems to work well. #NGSSchat

My goal is to leave every conference with something I can take back to the classroom immediately & I always look out for my Dept. peeps who teach other grades levels. Sharing is caring! #NGSSchat

A5: Twitter removes the barriers to ideas, resources, opportunities. Expands your PLN through conversations, pictures, media, shared links. Share your good work, ask for help in areas of struggle. Safe space to learn and grow. #NGSSchat
I tell everyone who will listen to follow #ngsschat and the regulars on it. A great percentage of what I’ve learned about NGSS has come from Twitter. I wish we could get more Ts here- to bring them on board with the shift but also bc sometimes it gets to be too confirmatory.

At NSTA and ISTE last year, I tweeted from sessions, keynotes, wherever. I have 2 Twitter accounts, 1 for just Edu & my adjunct lecturer work & 1 that’s my primary (Edu + other interests). Growing multiple PLNs. #NGSSchat
