The #educoach hashtag is used by instructional coaches around the world. We chat each Wednesday at 8pm CST on Twitter and use the hashtag throughout the week to share resources, ask questions and collaborate with instructional coaches.
Ellen Dorsey. K-12 instructional coach in Vermont. #eduwin was being overwhelmed with the number of twitter coaches willing to help me with my dissertation this week. #educoach
Good Evening #educoach. I'm Kathy, one of the founders of #educoach. My #eduwin was that our team facilitated 2 great days of learning for area Teacher Leaders. I'm thrilled to sit back and participate tonight. We are in good hands with @kennycmckee & @IAteacherNan
My #eduwin was visiting a teacher's classroom who was really teaching his kids how to engage in complex texts. He was involved in our Literacy Institute last year and it was good to see the impact! #educoach
Marci Moloney Director of SE In Livingston County MI. Saw a great writing piece completed independently by a student that has historically struggled. Differentiating for success! #educoach
Hi I'm Kendra, ITF in Asheville. My #eduwin was teaching a T how to use @Seesaw and she presented how it transformed her teaching at a district mtg. #educoach
Hi, Lori from Asheville, NC. Am an educational consultant but currently doing some thought leadership with coaching. Just want to learn from others! #educoach
A1: My team and I have been training K-3 to transition to 1:1 & we've been working with @Seesaw. With the QR code sign in it is so easy for the little ones to log in and navigate.#educoach
A1: I have been using @VocabularyCom lists I created with some of my schools. We have schoolwide academic word lists that students can use to practice academic vocabulary! #educoach
A1: I’ve used @canva and @AdobeSpark to make fliers and videos to promote things on campus. I’ve since seen Ts use them during instruction and, even better, Ss use them to create projects! #EduCoach
Check them out here: https://t.co/73PMoYzZxd Videos can be taken right in app. I have my coachees reflect on their video first (with time stamped comments in app/web). You can share resources, make huddles of various groups, etc... #educoach I do do some virtual coaching 4 them.
Q2 Twitter! I love connecting with coaches around the globe! I am a better educator/coach because of my connections. Proud to say I've been a connected educator since the late 90's. I started on https://t.co/4EStOIpinM (before Twitter) #educoach
A2: I honestly have to say Google Docs - mainly because I can use them for almost anything. Today, when I was conducting the class visit _ is hared my notes in realtime with the teacher. No mystery about my thoughts! #educoach
Video. Recording, watching myself, identifying and trying to break bad habit. Also video conferencing to stay connected and look at student work with teachers across schools virtually. #educoach
A1: I haven't used too many digital things. But I do regularly include a @padlet and/or @GetKahoot in our grade level professional development sessions. #educoach
A2: I’m not sure there is any one thing. But I think my willingness to try new innovative technology has truly helped me be successful in coaching. I have the knowledge and first hand experience and there’s nothing I won’t try to learn if it helps my teachers #EduCoach

Google just released updates. I noticed today when you go into share settings you can share a document but now set an expiration date for the share to expire. #educoach
A3: I'm going to Google again. I'm really loving Hyperdocs from an organization and access perspective! Love this gamified doc I made to help students with annotated bibliography! #educoachhttps://t.co/uSxfdyN9ml
Q3 I'd have to say blogging has really changed me as an educator. I not only gained confidence as a writer, I continue to connect with awesome educators and am much more reflective when I blog/write! #educoachhttps://t.co/qEvAPxtCYL
A3: When I was in the classroom I did a lot of blended learning. Making video lessons was how it all started for me which was the jumping off point to so many amazing apps and programs! When that was successful, it gave me the confidence to try new things. #EduCoach
A3: it sounds boring, but our record keeping app @InfiniteCampus. Not that it could stand major improvements but it’s a tool for communicating proficiency and progress. #educoach
There is a Google form floating around @Twitter where you can register for a #GridPals. Basically share a grid with another class and collaborate. #educoach

Holy crap it's almost 9:30 and we've got more questions to get through.
So let's get moving - @MathMinds was totally reading my mind. Let's talk about the pre-work of using SW with Ts/PSTs.

I'm tossing around setting up a blogging tribe for coaches. A place to support each other, comment, promote posts, etc.. Let me know if there is interest. #educoach
Yes - I loved blogging with students when I was a coach. It was powerful to watch students latch on to writing and want to share their thoughts with the world. We used the #comment4kids#educoach
Putting the finishing touches on a 5th grade UDL demo lesson I’ll be doing tomorrow! Feeling so thankful for this work and the educators I get to partner with in ensuring ALL kids have access to high quality education! #UDL#educoach#ALLmeansALL#lovemyjob#educationisfreedom

A4: @Seesaw is really helping students become more reflective and thoughtful learners. Love how @Woodridge68 staff under support from @TarahTesmer are using this tool! #educoach
Q4: This is not every educator's favorite answer, but @YouTube! Seriously, students and adults are learning skills and knowledge from YouTube that were never available before! #educoach

Sounds like there is interest in a coaches blogging tribe. When I get back from @ascd I can work on. If anyone would like to collaborate with the development just let me know. #educoach
Q4: stealing @kennycmckee’s answer here: Collaborative Docs with Google. Students communicating/creating anywhere, anytime, with any device and with so many possibilities. #educoach
Q4: This is not every educator's favorite answer, but @YouTube! Seriously, students and adults are learning skills and knowledge from YouTube that were never available before! #educoach
Yes - that is why I loved using #comments4kids. They were tickled when they got comments from teachers and students around the world. We kept track on a map! #educoach
A4: stealing @kennycmckee’s answer here: Collaborative Docs with Google. Students communicating/creating anywhere, anytime, with any device and with so many possibilities. #educoach#educoach
Yes! I use this a lot. I've built background knowledge for reading a story about the city so our rural 1st gr kids could relate. But the truck video was their favorite -- all kinds of trucks! #educoach
Q4: This is not every educator's favorite answer, but @YouTube! Seriously, students and adults are learning skills and knowledge from YouTube that were never available before! #educoach
A5: I’m going to focus on adaptive tech for this one. Technology can facilitate lowey the floor and raising the ceiling so that we can offer accessible and extendable challenges for students. #educoach
#educoach A5 - if digital tools are used properly they provide a whole new world for students to create products or some sort of evidence of learning. But only if tech is used well.
A6: Sometimes they (& us) can have that "kid in the candy store" feeling. So many great things out there that we can overwhelm ourselves & run the risk of never getting to a competent level of understanding their respective uses. #educoach
A4: The ability to create digital feedback loops with students has enormous benefit for student learning- using the comment feature in Google docs/slides or discussion thread replies in Google Classroom makes this quick and simple. #educoach
A4: Tools such as, Google Sites, @Flipgrid@padlet that allow students to share their work/knowledge to a larger audience help students become more effective learners #educoach
A6: I get the irony of this statement, but I hate social media. Feel like it’s a ceaseless social jungle. Not actually ironic maybe because I use Twitter to whet my work obsession. #educoach
The @googlechrome extension @Screencastify has allowed me to create screencast tutorials for students on digital tools that we use in class. Now students are creating tutorials too! #educoach
A7: tools that make formative assessment fun and ubiquitous and also facilitate feedback and data collection. So many examples: google forms, @GetKahoot@PearDeck@plickers@schoology etc... #educoach
A8: I really LOVE all that @Newsela has to offer. The Lexile adjuster, the annotations, the variety of texts, and the data tracking. Just the best! #educoach
A8 I used to use @Seesaw for a small RTI fluency group I saw. I would record Ss reading poems and excerpts and they would notice growth over time. Families could also "like" or comment. #educoach
A(my own): It hasn’t come up, but I’m putting all of my coaching forms in @goTeachPoint which is our evaluation and professional learning tracker. Very excited about how this will work to facilitate coaching cycles. #educoach
I agree. It is something we can't offer as teachers. Not enough time to take an article and modify it to fit the needs of each reader. #GameChanger#educoach
A6: I think learning how to toggle between multiple documents/sites is a tricky skill for students- however, I did just learn how to "split your screen" which I think be a helpful step toward managing this #educoach
