A1: 4 star volleyball, sorry the lesson plan is a screen shot. I couldn’t figure out how to convert it on my phone into a google docs to share #ESPEChat
A1. I have become fans of partner parachutes this school year. They are great for developing teamwork and the @OPENPhysEd Parachute Module. I love parachute monkeys too. #espechat
A2: I really don’t do a ton of parachute activities, I need to get a new one. I mostly just hang my parachute up on a line from my hoops and use it as a barrier for different activities #ESPEChat 😬
A2. I have become fans of partner parachutes this school year. They are great for developing teamwork and the @OPENPhysEd Parachute Module. I love parachute monkeys too. #espechat
A1 Don’t have any omnikins or the sort but I have sit down volleyball with a bigger than normal beach volleyball and currently using bigger then normal 4-square balls for nitroball (super excited for day one today) #ESPEchat
A2: I like the parachute game SHARK ATTACK. We all lie down (body under, head out) and I send several sharks under the parachute to pull others slightly under. They then switch places. Play JAWS music. Kids love it. #espechat
A2) Parachute games I like... Cat and Mouse, Switcharoo, etc... With K-2 I like to use Hap Palmerś Listen and Move and have the students attempt the different patterns. Challenges students to move at the same pace. https://t.co/QmQ1HKa4Zu#espechat
Do you have the parachute monkeys? They launch super high. The only problem is that they will take out drop ceilings. I had that happen at a part time school. #espechat
We use scooters on a regular basis. Swimming on our tummies, pulling each other on a dog sled, using ropes to pull like wagons, using pool noodles to connect scooters to make limos...to name a few😬 #espechat
A3: oldie but goodie! Scooter tag. Divide gym into 4. Each quarter is its own game. Betwen rounds we run 2 laps and then I switch out player so they don't get bored. #ESPECHAT
A2 When I did parachute activities at my K-6 site it was normally always some type of team effort. How many objects could they keep on it, could they catapult the object to a target, switch colors from underneath the parachute #ESPEchat
A3 We use scooters on a regular basis. Swimming on our tummies, pulling each other on a dog sled, using ropes to pull like wagons, using pool noodles to connect scooters to make limos...to name a few😬 #espechat
A3. I really like my Esturary Module about the Cheapeake Bay from @OPENPhysEd with next gen science standards. We need to protect our play enivorment. #ESPECHAT
A3: Mario Kart: students go around a track and earn wristband for successful laps completed once they earn 3 laps they get a turtle shell. Treasure Island: students scoot down to the island while other students roll balls trying to hit the scooters #espechat
A2: I do an activity w/ animal beanbags & the mini parachutes where my 4-5 try to in groups discover the best way to
1. Launch the animal as high as possible 2: catch the animal after launch. 3: launch the animal sideways to a teammate 4: launch to another parachute #espechat
Veteran’s Day PE Stations: Celebrating and honoring our Military with some Basic Training and Fun in physical education. The Pickett’s Mill cadets loved it!! #physed#espechat#physicalliteracy
Created GIFs to help my kindergarten students learn speed stacking today in #PhysEd. Using GIFs have really helped my students since I started using them.
A3 Oh how I miss my scooters! Teamwork activities like Radioactive River, Hungey Hungry Hippos. Tag games such as Crossy Road, Dinosaur tag, motor skill activities (overhand/underhand throw, roll) such as Frogger #ESPEchat
Fun warmup in #PhysEd as we get ready for #2018STACKUP. Ss had to either up-stack or down-stack the cups throughout the gym. Lots of movement with this activity!
A4 All time fav is blindfolded cup stacking using @physedreview stacking YouTube videos with the embedded timer and cues to stop and go! Verbal and nonverbal communication 👌🏼 #ESPEchat
A4: I don’t have any actual cup stacking equipment but this year I use solo cups for students to collect once they underhand throw into a target then they got to create a tower out of the collected cups #ESPEChat
A4. I have seen educators do builders and bulldosers with cups with different patterns. I have seen the same educator have each one count as a star wars character. #espechat
A4: I take them on a cart when I am kicked out of the gym. We watch the demo videos and time each other. Not super inventive, but a lifesaver when teaching a 40 min PE class in the classroom! #espechat
Lots of one minute challenge activities still out there with cups from the old show minute to win it. #espechat I did a family fun night with them in the past.
For reals and my ms ss never had Elementary #physed with PE certified teachers if they came from the same district! They wouldn’t even know what hit them they’d be so excited #ESPEchat
A5: Love the @USGames oversized inflatable pins. We did a pin flip activity. If it flips and stands, S's get to shoot a basket. They have 3 chances to make it stick working in groups of 2 or 3 #espechat
A2 a good parachute game is split half the parachute and have 2 sides. Put on 2-4 colored dodgeballs and they must work as a team to get other sides ball off and keep their own on top #espechat
We are continuing our #teambuilding unit with Toxic Waste Level 1 pick up 1 piece of waste any color, Level 2 pick up 1 piece of waste all must be the same color, Level 3 pick as much waste as possible any color @JaimeGiangrosso Thanks for posting #physed#PERocks#TNPEChat
A5. Task Tents and Shield Bins are two of my favorite pieces for the past two years. I really like goldfish balls too. #espechat Great for goals and throwing objects. #espechat
A5: I use my hurdles a ton, which I never thought I would considering when I first started teaching elementary 3 years ago I had no idea what the foam hurdles were for. I use them for hurdles, small nets, tunnels, barriers, and many other things #ESPEChat
A2 also love using the partner parachutes for 3 person volleyball. Two holders catch and 3rd player uses forearm pass or underhand serve to send over net/rope etc. #espechat
I can teach most standards with pool noodles. I did a three hour OPEN training with only pool noodles for large class sizes with modifications. #ESPECHAT
I used to use Float Rs by Sportime. They are these funky, slow moving, airfilled shapes that could be used with a lot of the activities mentioned tonight. One drawback is they would lose air but they are fun. #espechat#physed
