The #2PencilChat is a weekly conversation about educational technology. As we enter a more student-centered age, let's talk about using all the tools in our toolboxes to be innovative and dynamic teachers.
Hello Everyone, I am Hollie, a high school English teacher from PA! Still have to work tomorrow, so I ordered my pies and will start cooking tomorrow night!

Gday #2PencilChat
Carl from Avonsleigh Australia.
There is an election in my state on Saturday so i'm looking forward to getting me some democracy sausage
A1 I usually prep some kind of vegan roast, whether it's #Tofurkey, @FieldRoast, or this year, the #TraderJoes vegan roast. I surround it with potatoes, carrots, apples, onion, cashews, & rosemary, and roast it all up. #2PencilChat
A1) Anything you can make in a crock pot. Crock pots are amazing...and I don't care if you are a This Is Us fan...I will continue to argue Crock Pots are AMAZING!

My family never did mac and cheese on Thanksgiving. The first time I had it, the mom who made it made it soooo next level with crispy breadcrumbs, it was a revelation! #2PencilChat
This Gif looks like me after our opinion writing assignment today. They had to write their opinion on Pumpkin Pie. They each had a sample and well.......I had to finish the pie afterward during their break. #2pencilchat

A2: Grandma would always make lemon jello with pineapples floating in it, topped with whip and crushed nuts. Weird but good. Inspires my student @Tinkercad challenge: #WhatsInMyJello#2PencilChat
Oh, gosh, SO MANY jello salads! My Grandma made it with mandarin orange slices. She made a topping out of whipped cream and the mandarin orange syrup. You just totally took me back 30 years! #2PencilChat
A3 For me, it's the roasted potatoes and other fall harvest fruits and veggies that I make alongside my roast. I love potatoes, sweet potatoes, rosemary, and other stuff together. #2PencilChat
A3) some of us already referenced the fact that we don't cook...lol. I am; however, great as your bartender. I'm not sure what I would like to learn how to make. #2PencilChat
A3: My specialty is desserts. I try not to make the same thing twice for the same group of people. Except sweet potato cheesecake. That's often requested #2PencilChat
A3 So I do not cook, but Mike does! Thankful for that, but I do clean up. @eduminimalist
I would love to learn to make sweet potato souffle #2PencilChat
Q4 - What are the dessert essentials for your holiday table?* #2PencilChat
*Please note that there are right and wrong answers here.**
** That's a lie, there are not. Pleasure is subjective.

A4) sometime I as my sister, the Baker, to make a cheesecake of some sort. But, since I've been spending so much time at the gym the past couple of years, I've asked for Energy Bites to be made. So yummy. #2PencilChat
A4-Late jumping in...@MissKRafferty's wrong answer of some sweet potato pie thing as a dessert could not go unanswered....my rule for dessert...if it has fruit or vegaetables in it then it is disqualified as a dessert....chocolate based only haha. #2pencilchat
A4: A variety of desserts! Pie, cheesecake, cookies, ice cream. There are no wrong answers here. Unless everything is pumpkin flavored. That's a wrong answer. #2PencilChat
A5 - The majority of my Thanksgivings in my 22 years have been only my closest family.... this year it'll just be my mother, my sister, my son, and I. Any topics are on the table 🤷♀️ LIMITLESS. Haha #2PencilChat
A5) stay away from the politics. One Christmas my grandmother started talking to my sister about whom she voted for. My sister told her not to talk to me about that because I voted for the other candidate. #2PencilChat
@MagicPantsJones A5: Fun memories! Vacations, holidays, funny moments. #2PencilChat I’m sorry I’ve missed most of the chat. Been with mom in hospital. Hopefully she’ll be home by Friday. 🙏🏻
Since Mike and I voted for the person that both family sides are against, Yep we will keep politics and religion out of it. LOL
#2PencilChat
Can't we all just get along :)

I love you so much, #2PencilChat Pals, and just as much, I'm thankful for you joining us tonight! We'll see you again next Tuesday, have a great week! And if you're in the States, have a happy Thanksgiving!
Amen! Thankfully, my parents and I voted the same way, but I find that today's climate still makes talking politics more upsetting than I'd like at dinner. #2PencilChat
A5 Happy Topics, My kids
Since we only do Mike's family all topics are ON except politics.
If it was my family, no talk about religion or politics or our beliefs so hence we do his family ;)

I would save a lot of calories if I didn't sample so much. But I've always got anxiety because I like to try cooking new things, so I have to sample, sample, sample as I go.
