  • StephanieSarkis Feb 28 @ 12:07 PM EST
A1. Have your child take a few deep breaths. Find the cause of anger and frustration. Help your child name their emotions. Acknowledge that feeling anger and frustration is okay, it's what you do with those feelings that counts. #ldchat #ADHD

A4. Recess should NEVER be taken away, whether due to classroom behavior, not completing classwork, or standardized testing. Have it added to 504/IEP plan. #ldchat

A3. Self-advocacy is especially important for teens and young adults with ADHD. Accommodations are unlikely without asking for them. Remind them that they're just looking to level the playing field. The trick is to encourage them to stand out among others. #LDchat
