I'm joining in. I'm a Network Admin at Fresno Pacific University and current EdTech student. I occasionally get to teach my craft to college students. #caedchat
A1: Heading to a beach house on Balboa Island next week. Pretty much going to do "nothing" LOL. I am actually still working here and there throughout the summer #TOSAlife#caedchat
A1: When you live in Santa Barbara, you don’t really need to go anywhere. I am headed to a higher ed housing conference in Denver, CO next weekend #caedchat
A1: I’m heading out to Arkansas for a week to visit one of my best friends. Then a few days at the beach. Love getting to relax in different places #caedchat
A1: Most of my summer will be spent hanging out with my boys and my husband. We like to go on little getaways to the beach and hoping to get out more and do things. #caedchat
A1: no travel plans this summer. We just got a 5 month puppy 2 days ago so we’re home bound. We’re suppose to go to Jackson Browne concert in Palo Alto in August (we’ll see) #caedchat
A1: I work summers since I am DO admin but just did a quick college road trip with my youngest, and flying to Chicago to see oldest graduate boot camp in a few weeks #caedchat
A1: Took vacation for a week a month ago and went to Willow Creek, Eureka, Fort Bragg, and Santa Rosa. Going to the central coast this Thurs/Fri. Still taking courses, guest lecturing the next 2 weeks, and rebuilding a network. Super busy! #caedchat
A1) Rest and relaxation in Cabo San Lucas. T minus 4 days! Life at home with my 1 year old daughter sometimes feels "busier" so I covet her nap time- yoga, read a good edu book, get a little sun, scroll through twitter. #caedchat
Q2: I have been to a few retirement celebrations this month. So just for fun - how many years have you been teaching/working...how many years until retirement? #caedchat

A2: Working for 15 years. Some in education, some out in the private sector. Probably 35-40 years till retirement if the ole pensions hold up. #caedchat
#caedchat
A2: I have been teaching for 28 years and still feel excited about my work! All the new Tech and curriculum choices are so fun - I still love my job. #5thGrade
A2: I did 13 yrs in early childhood. Got my sped cred in '01 so that's 30 years. I think I have another 12 yrs in me - or at least my finance guys says I should work that long if I stay in the Valley. #caedchat
Q3: We want our students to read over summer to avoid the #summerslide - but...teachers don’t have the same issue necessarily. So, what shows are you planning to binge watch this summer? #caedchat

A3: To be honest, I don't have anything left to watch after Westworld season 2 concluded. Still watching Humans and the Expanse but I'm all caught up so it's one at a time now. #caedchat
I’m looking for recommendations! My boys are 7 and 8, so we end up watching a lot of Nickelodeon. Haha Hoping I can squeeze in a series or two when they go to bed. #wishfulthinking#caedchat
Q4: If you had “walk up” music (like when a stadium plays music for a baseball batter walking up to hit) - what would your “walk up” song in your classroom be? #caedchat
A3: Hi! I'm Nikki - TOSA from Santa Maria. I've already binge watched Peaky Blinders & The Crown. Always looking for new shows. Also read 6 books (some for school, some for pleasure) On break for 3 weeks! #caedchat

A5: I hear a lot about project based learning talked about as sort of a bridge between the classroom and real world. As I taught cooking, I wondered if we could skip the 'project' part & do real world stuff. Math/Science cooking. Plan, cook serve a meal. #caedchat
A5) 1. Have a classroom. 2. Teach IT curriculum with actual equipment so students can see the relevance of topics. Obviously, make sure each student had a device also. #caedchat
I'd love to have unlimited STEM supplies. The kids love it so much and learn from it so well, but it hurts my wallet so much sometimes! I wish I could do all the expensive projects and not just the recycled materials ones #caedchat
A5) Teaching US History, I created 7 lessons that correlate with 7 Hamilton songs. Taking every one of my students to see the show on stage would be an absolute dream. At that point, I would surely win over the small number of students who had not yet become fans. #caedchat
A3: I am binge watching the SF Giants! Can’t get enough of Kruk and Kuip! I am also reading a great book for my school’s teacher book club, “The Power of Moments.” Highly recommend it! #CAedchat
A5: My students would film a documentary while visiting classes in other schools to capture what they like/dislike about learning, discuss what motivates them to learn, talk about grades, assessements, technology, and what they wish their teachers did more of. #caedchat
Q6: Summer can be a great time to explore new technology resources. What is something you want to explore or learn about technology this summer? #caedchat
I spent the afternoon building out a RaspberryPI for some demonstrations on DNS/DHCP and to get students to dissect some packet captures using the protocols. So cheap yet so capable. #caedchat

A6: I've been exploring with Flipgrid which I know isn't new, but it's new to me! I've already found so many uses. Now if only my classroom could be 1:1! #caedchat
A5: I would love to have a classroom with a home feel. Leather couches, fluffy rugs, beanbag chairs — a place where you want to get comfy, where you want to study, read, and collaborate. #caedchat
A6: I want to try either podcasting or video casting messages to folks in my district next year I am efgort to provide authentic human connection. Any suggestions on what to use? #caedchat

A6: I am currently taking two Extended Ed classes...one on using Twitter in the classroom and the other on iPads in the classroom. I would love to be able to incorporate what I am learning into my lessons. #caedchat
Going through a Cisco Cyber Ops self-study cohort this summer/fall. I suppose, I'm looking forward to expanding my knowledge on how tech can be exploited and how we can defend against "the dark arts." Would love to teach a security course someday with the knowledge. #caedchat
A6: I'm teaching a 'film' elective so we had to create a system & workflow. I decided on creating a media account for the class phnoes w/tripod clamps AND an adobe spark account. We're doing How To shorts. Integrating w/my Cooking elective. #caedchat
A6) After seeing @KVoge71 tweet, I got The EduProtocol Field Guide. Love exploring new resources during summer, I feel it's the best time to work. #caedchat

A6: I AM going to experiment with Green Screen this summer and I am setting up my first Breakout for our Smart Start Day. I want to try to make a Digital Breakout, too.

A7: I have been attending my community’s July 4th celebration since I was 8. It has been at Grape Day Park for many years now. Always ends with the Marine Corp band or some other military band and fireworks. It’s one of my favorite days. #caedchat
