Q1: In Ch. 19 @ShakeUpLearning shares how to prepare for a Dynamic Learning Experience. What steps do you go through to make your lessons dynamic? #TXed
A1: Conversations w/ Ts usually start with choosing the obj of the lesson, scaffolding it appropriately, allowing Ss to try often, keeping them engaging and hopefully we have time for making the learning memorable (@lead4ward) #TXed
A1 Keeping the desired result in mind I plan my lessons to meet the needs of the Ss I have, not the Ss I wish I could have. I start where they are and move forward. #txed
Q1: In Ch. 19 @ShakeUpLearning shares how to prepare for a Dynamic Learning Experience. What steps do you go through to make your lessons dynamic? #TXed
A1: In supporting teachers as a presenter, I realize that my lessons have to include experiential activities and vicarious experiences of stories read, told or viewed. #txed

#txed A1 Every day when I teach I imagine I am @ofctimallen "Tim the Tool Man Taylor" with the grunts #MorePower and side stories that relate to my subject content. Let's say, I put on a show! LOVE DOING THIS! My kids leave my room each day smiling.
Q2: @ShakeUpLearning states that when we start to create a Dynamic Learning Experience we should always begin with identifying desired results. Why is this important and what do you look for from the results of your lesson? #TXed
Agreed... I presented all summer long and do feedback after every session. Most feedback is wanting more hands-on experiences. No one wants to “sit and get”, we’re just like our student learners, we need to be doing ... #txed

A2: I connected this with @Wes_Kieschnick’s #BoldSchool message too. Technology is just a tool to enhance LEARNING. It’s not about the tech, it’s about student learning. Love that we’re all on the same page! #pln#TXed
#txed A2 The objective of your lessons should be Ss performing the learning objectives with the VERBAGE found in the objectives! ITS ALL ABOUT THE VERBS!!! Do you have your TEKS posted? Mr. Toups does! #ItWorks
Teachers are overwhelmingly turning to social media and online resources to drive their own professional learning, according to new Speak Up Survey data released by Project Tomorrow. Here is my take on Making PD Meaningful & Engaging. https://t.co/yvB2hqKjha#txed
#txed A3 You should be looking at the technology TEKS and incorporate them when needed. Too much tech = #nogood Use technology wisely to invigorate the lessons and teach the technology TEKS.
A3: If you hear information, you are likely to remember about 10 percent of that information three days later. Add a visual, & recall will soar to 65 percent. #txed
A3: Tech is great when it opens windows for Ss to have more of a voice & choice in their learning, increases the deep thinking & creativity. When it creates purpose and/or audience for writing it can be a game changer. But if it’s just a worksheet online it’s unnecessary. #TXed

Q3 Technology needs to serve a purpose. Don't use it just to use it. It needs to improve collaboration, creativity, provide a benefit like instant feedback, or something extra engaging. #txed
A3: try to incorporate the student use of technology in lessons for struggling readers & writers to be able to "use" their voice with assistive technology #TXed
Q4 Sometimes we doubt ourselves when we start to create a dynamic learning experience. How can we over come this myth when we have so many other things to focus on? #TXed
In other news, #TXed, my dog just found the cricket that has kept me from sleeping for TWO nights straight and I may actually get some rest tonight! #reallife
Q4 Sometimes we doubt ourselves when we start to create a dynamic learning experience. How can we over come this myth when we have so many other things to focus on? #TXed
#txed A4 When you put on #showtime in your room, it gets easier, almost automatic. Practice makes perfect. Also... Kids will sense if you love what you are doing. They appreciate the extra effort you do to make your lessons dynamic. #AlwaysBelieve
A4: Teaching is a very reflective practice (PRACTICE!). Do the Astros blow off a loss like it’s nothing? Do they play any less the next game? Nope. Neither should we. Every day is a new day. Reflection helps us keep taking the next best step in our teaching/coaching. #txed
A4: When I was a school leader, I have to admit that at times I’d crave approval and take the easy way, instead of practicing my values to guide me in the right way. #txed
Q5 @ShakeUpLearning talks about the importance of reflecting after each dynamic learning experience. What questions do you ask yourself when you reflect about your lessons? #TXed
A5: My favorite reflection tool is actually student work. We’re adding that to our instructional planning this year. Every week we’re reviewing Ss work to guide our instructional decisions and collaboration. So excited for where we’re going this year! #TXed
A5 Trust yourself! It's ok to try and Fail, a good teacher knows the value of effort and being brave and innovative. Also feedback from others is helpful. Especially the students! #txed
I haven’t gotten through the whole book but was so blown away by his message. Gotta up my game on knowing the highest effects on student learning too! Mind. Blown. #txed

#txed A6 The information gleaned from student relationship building is the key! IT ALL STARTS WITH THE TR / ST RELATIONSHIP! If you build the relationship, the learning will follow. See the Mr. Toups flowchart for student relationships.
