Q1: What run play would you use from this formation against each D? What pass play would you use against each D? D coaches, what would you try to take away from this formation? #TXHSFBCHAT

A2: Zone Kick with an RPO bubble screen & then snag concept. Passing Game wise why? PA 3 man route combos #txhsfbchat

    A1: formation 1 h lead to the Y. Formation 2 power with h kicking wide OLB. #txhsfbchat
    In reply to @txhsfbchat
  • txhsfbchat - Moderator May 30 @ 9:14 PM EDT
A1: Against both I’m running ISO to the Y. There is a bubble there with a good GT double team. H leads up on LB and RB is 1 on 1 with a DB #TXHSFBCHAT
  • harper_coach May 30 @ 9:15 PM EDT
A1) Strong Power to both looks. #TXHSFBCHAT
  • DudgeonD May 30 @ 9:18 PM EDT

A1: power to the nub on both make that corner prove he can fit #TXHSFBCHAT
  • txhsfbchat - Moderator May 30 @ 9:20 PM EDT
Q2: What run play would you use from this formation against each D? What pass play would you use against each D? D coaches, what would you try to take away from this formation? #TXHSFBCHAT
  • schmitz70 May 30 @ 9:22 PM EDT
A1: roll the $ on the strong Y side, cover 3, LB disrupts the Y plays run, combo the coverage on the Y. #TXHSFBCHAT
  • CoachNoon45 May 30 @ 9:23 PM EDT
I'd look to take away power or power read run wise #TXHSFBCHAT
    In reply to @txhsfbchat
  • tbanks1906 May 30 @ 9:23 PM EDT
A2: Do you guys really get 2 high to this? PLEASE.. So sending B in Pre-snap motion zone with a screen to him and then zone-stick, zone- RB screen to A if needed. Passing game PA weak flood, wheels Snag game & Flood #txhsfbchat
    • txhsfbchat - Moderator May 30 @ 9:20 PM EDT

  • BWKundert44 May 30 @ 9:24 PM EDT
In the top formation I would role the safety down to re-route #2 and play cover 3, it would help in the run game to the twins, which would be the most pressing need in this formation, as well as help with bubble or now screeen #txhsfbchat
    In reply to @txhsfbchat
  • DudgeonD May 30 @ 9:24 PM EDT
Now look for outside zone back to twins or counter tre back to twins both give you a hat for hat #TXHSFBCHAT
  • Coach_Jay53 May 30 @ 9:27 PM EDT
As a D coach you must take away the power read and power plays! With the Closed side the offense I believe can leverage you better by hitting weak side . OZ, IZ, Power series would be problematic #TXHSFBCHAT

  • JoshRagsdale May 30 @ 9:27 PM EDT
A1.... Power. THINK about throwing but just run Power.... @coach_murray #TXHSFBCHAT
  • gstrick16 May 30 @ 9:29 PM EDT
A2: Wanting to take away the C Gap conflict on the OLB. Allow him to be a pass first player giving me 3 over 2. I'd then need to add my $ into the run fit, putting my C in a vulnerable position vs a talented Y. #TXHSFBCHAT

A: in an odd front, roll the safety to help with power on the frontside. Have to squeeze gaps for ISO or lead. #TXHSFBCHAT
  • thecoachvogt May 30 @ 9:33 PM EDT
Always see a 3 and 9 drawn up.... but rarely in real life. When we do see that.... we usually get around 300 Rushing.... #TXHSFBCHAT
  • CoachNoon45 May 30 @ 9:34 PM EDT
A3 that formation says smashmouth run game... Iso, trap, wham or counter. Pass wise more likely to man up and banjo backs. Back up the seam certainly would be high alert too #TXHSFBCHAT
    In reply to @txhsfbchat
  • BWKundert44 May 30 @ 9:38 PM EDT
I think you have a lot of options to pass two the twins side, a simple slant/bubble, or slant/whip and just read the OLB, makes for an easy throw and catch, maybe motion the wing away from that side so the safeties eyes move as well #txhsfbchat

  • BillLiedy May 30 @ 9:42 PM EDT
    1. QB Draw with Y Pop, outside receivers run smash concept. If RM carries Y, QB runs, if LB flat footed, throw to Y behind. 2. QB sweep to the left, out numbered. #txhsfbchat
    In reply to @txhsfbchat
  • tbanks1906 May 30 @ 9:43 PM EDT
A4: Top one QB Draw with 5 yard outs... Second one zone with a bubble. Passing Game is not need until they stop the RPO. But up top 3 man snag w/slants. 2nd one PA Flood or snag #txhsfbchat

3-4 wise blitz off edge with peel rule depending on back ability, 4-2 certainly have to consider option game if team uses it also split zn and pwr rd. Rub/mesh routes in both formations would be high alert. Hope the line holds up against the 🔥 #TXHSFBCHAT

Hell nah. IIIFFF we see a even front we get a 3, 5, and a 9. No exceptions. Almost always we get odd or bear with two lb’s in 40’s. #TXHSFBCHAT

Bonus answer: Power! Power! Counter, OZ, SO Smash #txhsfbchat Power
  • CoachFonville May 30 @ 9:52 PM EDT
A3: midline with j motion for lead block and midline triple option to the Y with j motion wide. Pass is a flood concept to the two receiver side. #txhsfbchat

cancelling inside gaps, walk an OLB on edge. Use C's to take first out Safety and OLB vertical threats. NO ONE GETS A CLEAN RELEASE! #txhsfbchat

  • CoachFonville May 30 @ 9:56 PM EDT
Bonus: BZ lead c gap. If the end slants inside crush him down and bounce to D. Also can run straight outside zone to the Y. The corner is in no man's land #txhsfbchat
