Tonight we are looking at our favorite runs and passes out of different formations vs a 3-4 and a 4-2. I'll post the pic and you explain what and why! #TXHSFBCHAT
This is @coachfisher_rp OL coach at RPHS, curator of #TXHSFBCHAT and this summer I will be writing district curriculum and preparing to send the boy to Lubbock, TX
Q1: What run play would you use from this formation against each D? What pass play would you use against each D? D coaches, what would you try to take away from this formation? #TXHSFBCHAT
Q1: What run play would you use from this formation against each D? What pass play would you use against each D? D coaches, what would you try to take away from this formation? #TXHSFBCHAT
Q2: What run play would you use from this formation against each D? What pass play would you use against each D? D coaches, what would you try to take away from this formation? #TXHSFBCHAT
A2: Do you guys really get 2 high to this? PLEASE.. So sending B in Pre-snap motion zone with a screen to him and then zone-stick, zone- RB screen to A if needed. Passing game PA weak flood, wheels Snag game & Flood #txhsfbchat
Q2: What run play would you use from this formation against each D? What pass play would you use against each D? D coaches, what would you try to take away from this formation? #TXHSFBCHAT
In the top formation I would role the safety down to re-route #2 and play cover 3, it would help in the run game to the twins, which would be the most pressing need in this formation, as well as help with bubble or now screeen #txhsfbchat
As a D coach you must take away the power read and power plays! With the Closed side the offense I believe can leverage you better by hitting weak side . OZ, IZ, Power series would be problematic #TXHSFBCHAT
A2: Wanting to take away the C Gap conflict on the OLB. Allow him to be a pass first player giving me 3 over 2. I'd then need to add my $ into the run fit, putting my C in a vulnerable position vs a talented Y. #TXHSFBCHAT
Q3: What run play would you use from this formation against each D? What pass play would you use against each D? D coaches, what would you try to take away from this formation? #TXHSFBCHAT
A3 that formation says smashmouth run game... Iso, trap, wham or counter. Pass wise more likely to man up and banjo backs. Back up the seam certainly would be high alert too #TXHSFBCHAT
I think you have a lot of options to pass two the twins side, a simple slant/bubble, or slant/whip and just read the OLB, makes for an easy throw and catch, maybe motion the wing away from that side so the safeties eyes move as well #txhsfbchat
Q4: What run play would you use from this formation against each D? What pass play would you use against each D? D coaches, what would you try to take away from this formation? #TXHSFBCHAT
1. QB Draw with Y Pop, outside receivers run smash concept. If RM carries Y, QB runs, if LB flat footed, throw to Y behind. 2. QB sweep to the left, out numbered. #txhsfbchat
A4: Top one QB Draw with 5 yard outs... Second one zone with a bubble. Passing Game is not need until they stop the RPO. But up top 3 man snag w/slants. 2nd one PA Flood or snag #txhsfbchat
Q4: What run play would you use from this formation against each D? What pass play would you use against each D? D coaches, what would you try to take away from this formation? #TXHSFBCHAT
3-4 wise blitz off edge with peel rule depending on back ability, 4-2 certainly have to consider option game if team uses it also split zn and pwr rd. Rub/mesh routes in both formations would be high alert. Hope the line holds up against the 🔥 #TXHSFBCHAT
A3: midline with j motion for lead block and midline triple option to the Y with j motion wide. Pass is a flood concept to the two receiver side. #txhsfbchat
Bonus: BZ lead c gap. If the end slants inside crush him down and bounce to D. Also can run straight outside zone to the Y. The corner is in no man's land #txhsfbchat
