Q1- It is important to reflect and understand your own reaction to change in order to compare it to the reactions of others. How do you handle change that you do not initiate? How does that compare to your feelings for change you do initiate? #5thchat
A1 I think like many things I get better at both with age. I find I fear change more when I'm not in control. #5thchat I think we are in a big stretch of change and need to be willing to explore
A1: I ask many more questions when it is an initiative that I didn't start. I tend to be skeptical and need to really feel the person and initiative out before I can be on board. Almost as if I am expecting to find something to disagree with. #canbehardcore#5thchat
A1: try to understand with an open mind what the change could potentially do and try to learn from it, even if I disagree with it. It’s what I’d want if I want initiating it #5thchat
I view change in two ways: changes that fit my mission and changes that don’t. My belief is that many people negatively react to change WITHOUT having any sense of their mission. #5thchat
A1 I can be hesitant to change! But since I have been in the classroom now I have seen where change can impact the students success in negative and positive ways. I’m trying to be open to change and make sure I always give the new idea a chance for my students! #5thchat

Q2 Change and culture ambassadors are essential on every campus. Who was it that made you feel comfortable with stepping out of your comfort zone? What quality did they have that really caught your attention?

A2: It was a former superintendent that built of my confidence to step out and step up. He provided me encouragement, a listening ear, etc. They were always #positive and spoke in #positive ways. #5thchat
A2 my amazing professors at converse college! Wow have they changed the education program! They are encouraging and are always open to new ideas and feedback. They always give the students a “push” out of their comfort zone, allowing us to keep improving #5thchat#conversechat

A3 incorporating new technology into the classroom! I had the opportunity to introduce a virtul field trip in one of my clinicals and the teacher loved it! The students also had a blast discovering the Native Americans. #5thchat#conversechat

A4 I think the most difficult part is getting the other adults excited or at least interested in your idea or the idea of a student. People like routine, maybe if we promoted the ideas or changes more frequently more faculty would be open to at least listen?#5thchat#conversechat
A3: offering to share my experience as an engineer with classrooms virtually! And i did it via Twitter PLN.. might do a stint in 2019 for an Australian school to encourage girls in #STEM#5thchat

A4: introducing a new form of teaching is never easy as T's prefer to stick to conventional methods. I'm seeing how tools like @flipgrid and @decktoys are transforming learning for the better and am a strong advocate for 21st century teaching tools #5thchat
A5 at Converse College before we start class we always share new experiences and technology that we have discovered. After we have a conversation we look the ideas up and decided if the new tech or strategy could potentially be beneficial to the students. #5thchat#conversechat
Q6 Our kids are always watching us, they notice every change, success, and mishap. Are you open and detailed in your discussions with kids and the things you are trying, the whys? How do you think this impacts the process? #5thchat
A6 I was teaching a lesson, and I am new to using the promethean board so I let my students know that I might need help figuring it out and they were shocked that I would admit that to them. They ended up being very helpful and taught me some new things! Always be honest #5thchat
Q7 Leading change makes you a leader! One great way to grow as a leader is to know and understand your leadership style. Have you ever take time to study what style of leadership you use? If so, which one are you? How do you use that to help you? #5thchat
A8: My agenda is to strip everything in my life both personally and professionally down the bare essentials and relentlessly put all of my efforts into those areas. #simplicity#5thchat

A8 one of my goals is to hopefully be a principal or superintendent of a district. I have noticed how some schools have become so mechanical, and I hope to change that where the teachers are coming up with more ideas and sharing their ideas with one another. #5thchat
