Hi #ruraledchat crew - Emily from Wisconsin tuning in. Not currently teaching but want to follow the conversation! I work w. @Rural_Schools and am glad to partner with @RuralEdChat
A1: As a pre-service teacher, I do not have one but we are learning about the Danielsons Framework and I know that it is used for teacher evaluation. #RuralEdChat

**Q2:**
What are the differences between teacher evaluations and administrative evaluations? (Do you even know what Admin Evals look like?)

A2: I can't say I have ever seen an admin eval. I do know that the same eval is not appropriate for every T. Most of the Qs on the eval don't apply to me. #ruraledchat

**Q3:**
There are more than job evaluations in education.
What type of evaluations can teachers use with their students to drive classroom instruction?

Just got done chatting about FA on another chat. I think FA is an evaluation of student learning and understanding.
In terms of behavior management, you could evaluate behavior progress with students who have trouble. #RuralEdChat
Big fan of the ole turn and talk, provides an opportunity for all student voices. May take some classroom management and time to get the routine, but effective when set up properly.

A3: There are so many types of both formative and summative evaluations. I honestly didn't understand the difference until a few years ago. #RuralEdChat
When I first started teaching, I'll admit evaluations were all graded and not truly about student learning. They were more about proof I'd covered the material. I'm better now. #RuralEdChat

A4: My most influential evaluation was one where I was asked my opinion BEFORE it was finalized. Having input to my strengths/weaknesses helped me realize where I needed growth. #RuralEdChat
Not really a style/type of evaluation... but learning to be easier on myself and less of a perfectionist was KEY to enjoying my journey as a teacher! Ha. I wasn't doing my students any favors by being stressed out all the time.
Sometimes the conversation creates a question. That's what's happened with our next question. It will be here just as soon as I can get it typed. #RuralEdChat
Great question. It really depends upon how an administrator views evaluations. Growth minded aren't difficult. Punitive mindset makes them harder to handle. #RuralEdChat
A5: I think that as teachers we are constantly learning as well. In that sense it is comparable because we are evaluating learning and understanding. #RuralEdChat
A6 Id be sure to include questions for self reflection and asking for specifics. Two of my favorites from my non-edu evals I get with my bosses #RuralEdChat
A6: I would make it a year long process that included a conversation at the beginning to determine what my admin and I thought I needed to work on. Set goals to meet.
