    A1: tt walking around or sitting with ss, helping them solve their own problems. The other ss are meeting with each other working on meaningful and authentic tasks that they have ownership of. Ss are pasionate and enthusiastic about what they are doing and learning. #learnlap

    Love this! Electricity and excitement among students because they are excited to dive into the material at hand. Our 6th grade Tour Around the World in Geography was a blast as it was filled with choice of path and product throughout the year! #LearnLAP

    A1 Engagement looks different on different days. Sometimes it is a bunch of Ss all talking about a topic, creating solutions and/or collaborating. Other times it is a quiet place with students reading their self-selected articles. #learnlap

    A4: If you want to achieves fully engaged classroom, you start by teaching them how to be engaged. Never assume anything. I was once ridiculed for teaching my Ss how to eat in the cafe. But, they were the best behaved and complemented for their actions. #Learnlap

    A4: I have my Ss fill out “What I’d like my teacher to know” questionnaire. I use their responses to select appropriate texts & tasks that I feel will keep them engaged. If they aren’t interested in what is provided to them, they’ll just be compliant but not engaged. #LearnLAP

    A6: It's imperative that Ss feel safe in classrooms, transition times, and getting on and off the bus. Once they feel safe, Ss can then engage & learn. To make the classroom a unit, Ss need to know each other, maybe do restorative justice and SEL to help them along. #LearnLAP

    A7: By creating strong, authentic relationships students feel safe and are able to receive feedback. We teach them, there is no “one and done,” all work will be “plus-ed.” The same should be true for the T, we should adjust to S feedback as theirs is the most valuable. #LearnLAP

    I was so excited about FG at the beginning of the year and had the same issue. So I gave kids the option to do FG or a blog post. As a result it increased my students' willingness to blog :) #lesserof2evils But I will try FG again next year #LearnLAP

    My point exactly. If someone truly has an anxiety issue or whatever there are workarounds for that. Did you have the Ss share their get to know vids with each other or just you? I might do the latter if it's the first HW of the year. #LearnLAP

    Yes. I’ll have Ss who I tell to just cover up the camera or point it an object. One kid drew a picture and pointed the camera at it the whole time. That’s fine. There is always a workaround. #Learnlap
