Hi everyone in #ngsschat land. Ted Willard here. I probably won't participate much this week. I'm on vacation in the middle of Wyoming at the moment. I've had a great time the last two weeks visiting several National Parks including Yellowstone.
#CANGSS: Tomorrow, Sept. 21st is the LAST DAY to register for #CASTEAM18 before prices go up! Register to join more than 3000 #STEAM educators, admin, higher ed & industry and non-profit partners for 2 days of high-quality professional learning. https://t.co/hv8uCrIcLW#ngsschat
Hello #NGSSchat! Excited that I don’t have a conflict for the first time in quite a while. Doug Ferguson from Washington State. Senior Learning Designer for STEM at AVID.
Q1 Teaching can be a lonely profession. Lucky for us we are science teachers & science is social! How do you connect + collaborate as a professional? Pls share a story-- why is important to find your tribe? #NGSSchat
#ngsschat Probably it started out as hanging out at state conferences, but more recently it has been EdCamps or Twitter pals A1) I drove to BC to hangout with Twitterati science/math people
A1 Rural teachers need to build a network! It's especially vital if you ARE the science department. I've built my network through @ISTA_IL and #NSTA experiences which have made me all the better. #ngsschat
A1: Joining @NSTA was a great move for me as well as being able to be a part of some long-term professional developments. The friendships I formed during these situations have lasted decades. I have a great network of local and national folks I can collaborate #ngsschat
A1: Now in my 6th year as #MfAProud Master Teacher, I gotta say the PD and community of #MathforAmerica is unbelievably supportive & welcoming & dynamic! Makes me a better teacher! #NGSSchat
In my school we have PLCs and we have teacher led PD. I’m the leader of my PLC and am on the PD team. This connects me with like minded colleagues... the PD TEAM is my tribe.#NGSSchat
A1) Last one for now - working with @VogelWendi and @KRScienceLady to really get @NGSS_tweeps up and off the ground has been awesome. It has been a great way to help people share and learn from each other. #ngsschat
A1 Connect and Collaborate through personal conversations with other teachers, Twitter, and Facebook groups of teachers who teach similar subjects/have similar interests. It's important to find your tribe so you have people who you trust and who can challenge you! #ngsschat
A1 Finding your tribe is so important to me because when I have been on my own as the only sci teacher in my building finding balance between creativity and practical implantation was so much harder! Happy to not be alone this year. #NGSSchat
A1: Part2: As a 1st year teacher (18 years ago), cried many many days bc of feeling like I let down S's. Finding those who hear u, know how hard u work& support you in this super emotional profession is difference between staying & leaving! #NGSSchat
I have @RPDPScience and @RPDPSci to thank for so many of the opportunities I had a classroom teacher. They pushed me professionally every grant project we worked on together and now i don’t know what I’d do without them! They helped me find my tribe #NGSSchat

I would second that statement about becoming a better teacher because of many of you. You have challenged my thinking, made me reflect and pushed me. Thank you. #ngsschat
A1 mostly through Social Media. Conference help but those can be expensive and long time in between events. Social media keeps connection and conversation going #NGSSchat
A1: Started transitioning to NGSS in 2013. Very few local connections. Discovered Twitter and was introduced to like minded teachers across the nation. I benefited from the sharing of so many great teaching ideas. #ngsschat
A1: I have @RPDPScience and @RPDPSci to thank for so many of the opportunities I had a classroom teacher. They pushed me professionally every grant project we worked on together and now i don’t know what I’d do without them! They helped me find my tribe #NGSSchat
I have been really lucky to find my tribe in my buildings. Teachers who validate my ideas and encourage me to to pursue them and I can reciprocat. Lately twitter and these chats have helped me expand this tribe. So great to open Twitter mid-day and see awesome SciEd #NGSSchat
A1: Teaching is quite the journey with ups and downs. But approaching the field with others allows us to see things in a new perspective and bring new ideas to the classroom. I love Social Media, #NGSSChat, & Science Conferences like @cascience's #CAScience19.
Yes! The first course in the career pathway counts for their CTE credit and then any additional biomedical electives count as science electives. #NGSSchat

You have joined the cool kids club!! This place is awesome. Full of many great folks who are most definitely willing to help, listen or whatever you need. Just follow everyone here! #ngsschat And of course, you should follow @NGSS_tweeps
#NGSSchat - It's important to connect w/ others to find a new approach and be open to growth in your practices. 🌲In NC, I had to travel to another site to find a tribe that enjoyed brain-storming and built on each others' ideas.... will never forget their kindness.

A1: Taking the time to say "yes" to opportunities. There are so many great programs for science teachers to step out of their boxes and meet like minded individuals. Space camp changed my world and I'm SO sad they discontinued the program. I need the next great PD :( #ngsschat
A1 - I’ve noticed a lot of sci tchrs in small schools here in NYC don’t have colleagues in their building who teach their science like them. Identifying with a school community is great, but also good to have a network across schools. #ngsschat
Q1 Teaching can be a lonely profession. Lucky for us we are science teachers & science is social! How do you connect + collaborate as a professional? Pls share a story-- why is important to find your tribe? #NGSSchat
A2 I read #TheFeedbackLoop to help me get more efficient at using #FormativeAssessments Now leading a book study in my bldg. and going to use what I learned when I present in KY #ngsschat
Q1 A former student, now a PhD candidate teaching Native American studies at UCBerkeley, recently posted about the use of the word "tribe" by non-Native Americans to refer to groups. Raising Cultural sensitivity. Cross curricular connections #NGSSchat#culturalappropriation
A2) Oh..good question - part of this summer was attending a marine science conference in Malaysia. Tons of connections made there that will benefit my students. Other was to revisit rubrics with my colleagues. #ngsschat
A2: I continued to work on my #NBCT journey! It's a beast... but it has really made me look closer at my practice and I am SO thankful for this checkpoint in my career. Goal for this year? Finish & Certify! #ngsschat
A2: this past summer I served as a mentor in a classroom discourse grant project and attended The #SciencePRP training in NoLa to work on my goal of increasing my feedback skills #NGSSchat
A2:
I went to an amazing 2 week intensive course with @AMTAteachers that pushed me to work on how to make my lessons 3D
My goals are to work on threading phenomena based instruction and whiteboard student lead discussions together to make cohesive units #ngsschat
A2 #ngsschat I read a few professional books, got some more teaching experience through summer school and attended training sessions. Goals: 1. Survive. 2. Thrive. 3. Strive 4. Work during the work week, not during family time.
A2: "Blessed are the curious for they shall have adventures." Drachman. I spent this summer engaged in a variety of PD opportunities. I flew drones, learned ARC GIS, read a book, dug for diamonds and quartz, and provided PD for other educators. #ngsschat
A2: I also read "Ambitious Science Teaching" @AmbScienceTeach and have really been trying to work on my assessment of 3D learning. It's REALLY hard; but I also know it's the right thing to do. Time to go all in 💪#ngsschat
A2 As suppport of Ts, my goal is to get into classrooms. Excited to see 3rd grade Ts in #MLPBL study to watch new resource in action. Also helping roll out some resources finally after waiting for them to come out was amazing this summer. #ngsschat
A2: I helped plan, & presented & attended the #MfASummerThink conference. Focused on how to connect S's to learning through nature, Modeled it with T's. Now presenting at @STANYSorg in NOV! Also focused on why I teach in a poetry circle workshop! #NGSSchat
A2: This summer I had the opportunity to work with several great educators refining and presenting workshops about NGSS.
I also got to attend a #FiveTools and #NextGenTime workshops #ngsschat
A2: Attended some summer workshops, did a lot of reading, and fed my soul with family time over the summer. #1 Goal: Build NGSS capacity in all teachers and meet them where they are at #NGSSChat
A2: Goal- getting science units in a format so that others can understand and use them. Gradually making progress as I distribute them to colleagues. #ngsschat
A2: Goals: to continue to expand my tribe connections, move toward phenomenon and problem based learning, integrate NGSS & shift assessment in that direction! #NGSSchat
A1: I sought out colleagues in my building to build collaborative relationships, I attended local science PD and conferences and found kindred souls, and I became an Einstein Fellow which 3 weeks in is the best decision I ever made. Talk about lucky! #ngsschat
Q1 Teaching can be a lonely profession. Lucky for us we are science teachers & science is social! How do you connect + collaborate as a professional? Pls share a story-- why is important to find your tribe? #NGSSchat
A2: This summer I had the honor of being a panel member for the @CADeptEd's science instructional materials review team. My goal is to help my district BUILD CAPACITY w/ #NGSS implementation. @VistaUnifiedSD is an @EarlyImplement district. Love the @K12Alliance support. #NGSSChat
A2 - We had some great sessions with teachers this summer to re-build the scope and sequence for our high school courses to build students/teachers capacity for 3d classrooms. And I took some time away from NGSS, travelign with family, which is also important ;) #NGSSchat
A2) Oh..good question - part of this summer was attending a marine science conference in Malaysia. Tons of connections made there that will benefit my students. Other was to revisit rubrics with my colleagues. #ngsschat
We have made the shift. There are some growing pains for all parties but the kids are excited and have bought in. Can´t wait to see what we are doing as the year progresses! #ngsschat
Agreed! I’m starting over with both since I’ve never taught this course before. Our group is doing well assessing practices now but I’m looking at how to be more 3D #NGSSchat
It was an adventure of a lifetime for me. I was super lucky had the chance to take my son with me as well. Meeting all those great scientists helps to make science real to my kids. They are always amazed at how many I know. #ngsschat
A2: Planned a whole year project- Ss chose an endangered species of their choice in Sept & answer each unit’s Essential Questions about this species. In April they will create a visual model of its extinction and create a species survival plan. #NGSSChat
Yes! As part of #MySci we often conduct focus groups with Ts and observe in classrooms. Last year we started focus groups with Ss and I’m excited to continue these this year - hopefully focused on MS Ss! #NGSSchat
Once, I attended a district PD for science teachers. The "teaching partner" of a new teacher sitting next to me would not even sit or look at her. She looked anxious. I listened & let her know she could work w/ teachers at the school I was at. Relationships matter. #ngsschat
A2: I participated in the Partners In Science program at OHSU in Oregon, doing neuroscience research to feed my curiosity and passion. I also moved to DC to start this amazing year as an @AEF_Program fellow. My goals are to experience all this year has to offer! #NGSSchat
Great question - I will speak for my room. In my room, honestly, I have probably been at 3D some of the time, not enough. This year, I am trying to push it more on them to guide and develop what and where we go within the confines of the units. #ngsschat
Sure thing! But it is slow progress as of now! I’m hoping to find others smarter than I am doing this work too and get inspiration from them. #NGSSChat
A2: "Blessed are the curious for they shall have adventures." Drachman. I spent this summer engaged in a variety of PD opportunities. I flew drones, learned ARC GIS, read a book, dug for diamonds and quartz, and provided PD for other educators. #ngsschat
A2 Flew to Illinois from CT to attend PAGES PD and storyline development! Also worked on UConn Ant U curriculum. Goals for this year are: storylines, assessment and USING my DQB more effectively! #ngsschat
A3) use of Twitter is probably the most sustainable for me, used Slack in a slow chat, done some Hangouts, but DM in Twitter is the best place to start convos, followed by email/phone convos. #ngsschat
A3 I reach out to Ts over Twitter It is amazing what you can learn from people you only know digitally!
?s: What are some ways to make assessments more 3D? How do other use, with intent, a #DrivingQuestionBoard?
#ngsschat
A3: I come to twitter and try to use the hashtags #NGSS#ngsschat and #kssci I normally get great responses; but, I wish there was a tag for middle school science. I'm also in a couple facebook groups. @NGSSchat
A3: Love @Twitter to share advice and lessons learned from implementing #NGSS. Institutes with @K12Alliance with other @EarlyImplement districts have leadership and pedagogy experiences that help me grow professionally. #NGSSchat
A3) Honestly, twitter. This medium has connected me with so many awesome educators and scientists that help me with so many aspects. It is truly amazing. Definitely changed how I approach group think. #ngsschat
Q3) B current Q: will the NGSS 3D model for teaching and learning become the norm? In my area, some teachers are going all out but admin is not really in the know. #NGSSchat
No Scuba - we did get to go on a dolphin river cruise and visit an organtan sanctuary. I got the chance to work with the kids of the scientists attending and some local kids as well. Very awesome experience. #ngsschat
At a science training this summer, I admired @LPugh3 ‘s connectedness within our state’s science community. Her advice to me was to utilize twitter to find my tribe and be bold in reaching out. It’s been great professional growth for me. #NGSSchat
Q1 Teaching can be a lonely profession. Lucky for us we are science teachers & science is social! How do you connect + collaborate as a professional? Pls share a story-- why is important to find your tribe? #NGSSchat
I’m getting more comfortable in assessing 3D with the LDC rubrics as guides for assessing tasks. I am working on 4 point scales and adding criterion for each dimension utilized. Still very much a work in progress #ngsschat
A3: sharing with dept and school faculty, but also my fave group of colleagues in NYC schools @MathforAmerica. I also love retweeing and learning from the many twitter accts of awesome teachers & orgs here! Also happy to now be part of @SciCouncilNYC as well! #NGSSchat
My 3D assessments are using phenomena to help guide students through answering their questions. I.e. A picture of an ecosystem and then having to decipher relationships and interactions that would occur, instead of just asking them vocab after vocab. #ngsschat
EDU protocol focuses more tech integration, ambitious science teaching practical, visible learning research on which strategies (and when applied) get the most bang for your buck #NGSSChat
agree, we are starting to work oiut what this looks like but admin have not supported us with PD, so I am gratefult to have found these chats and fellow T's already doing NGSS! #NGSSchat
The best one I've seen lately had students develop a model ecosystem (like the TerraAqua columns) where they could explain what would be needed to maintain life for 30 days. It was BRILLIANT @mslyons7207#ngsschat
I am using 3 & 1 pt rubrics for my #Formativeassessments & just trying to develop relevant & meaningful learning set performance tasks for my Ss Its difficult but so worth the effort #ngsschat
A2: This summer we facilitated a #mySci teacher leader program with Ts from multiple districts focused on #ngss. One goal is to continue to build science T leadership and authentic collaboration opportunities to harvest the collective wisdom in the region! #NGSSchat
I think as kids see changes (hopefully) in Ele and Middle it will quicken pace of change in HS as they will essentially want to be taught in 3D since they don’t know anything else #ngsschat
Question - I tend to struggle with ELL students in my room. No excuse but I have not found a great way to make sure they are integrated and learning unless they are paired with a student who also speaks their language. Any suggestions? #ngsschat
This is a great question. In STL @wustlisp is working hard to make it the norm. Almost all local school districts have adopted our #mySci program and we’re thrilled to see NGSS shifts occurring across the region. Universities can help w/ resources and PD. #ngsschat
A3: what do you do when your anchoring phenomena doesn't anchor and you are 1/2 way through the unit. I'm in MS-LS2 and we've got Monarch migration, wolves of yellowstone AND Eco Bottles going.😳time to focus but how? #ngsschat
We have had amazing experience w/ administrators who value K-5 science. Once they see what is possible, they are 100% on board. You just need trailblazers. #ngsschat#mySci
A3) A question for high school science teachers - how do you help colleagues "let go" of facts so they believe they have time to engage in 3D teaching and learning AND believe their students can figure out more stuff with the core ideas they develop in their classroom?
#NGSSchat
Right now we are working hard on using the Claim-Evidence-Justification to help my students with their work! Conversations are improving quickly with my kids! #ngsschat
In reply to
@BKd204Sci, @frizzlerichard, @mslyons7207
Lucky to have 2 great colleagues who were part of a project at UC Davis. Both teach elementary science and have been so valuable in my NGSS journey. We have been working together for over 5 years. #ngsschat
I do that as often as I can to try and help. Some docs are easier than others to put in that format. I definitely want my ELL kids to feel included. #ngsschat
@katesor1027 I was one of those teachers... it took a huge leap of faith, but seeing my students take control of their learning was eye opening and just made me want to do more. #ngsschat
A3b creating or finding anchor phenomena I seem to be able to come up with investigative phenomenon but not good anchors where do you go to find it/How to create it #NGSSchat
A4: Our school is piloting some incredible NSTA PD from @TdiShelton so I think that's where I'm heading this year as far as working on implementation.
#NGSSchat
I agree—formatting can be difficult. Anything hands on or visual tends to help as well. If they experience the science somehow, that sometimes speaks all languages! #NGSSChat
A2: My team decided to follow the advice of @STEMTeachTools Brief 9 when planning goals for ourselves. I’ve selected 4 practices to deepen my knowledge of this year- starting with Asking Questions. #NGSSchat
If I understand you correctly I guess they have to live it through a PD if they are slow to change. But from my experience most sci teachers would much rather give kids a chance to do science rather than learn facts. #ngsschat
I´m going to just keep plugging away and seeing what I can do to help. I want to at some point have a chat with her with help to make sure she understands that we are here to help. #ngsschat
A4: I’m lucky my job lets me visit schools and classrooms to help teachers in small groups and 1-1, b/c even though NV adopted #NGSS 4 years ago, rolling it out so ALL Ts and Ss are engaged in 3D teaching & learning is slower than I wish #NGSSchat
A4: I feel like I understand the standards and practices, etc, but struggled with the assessment piece. I hope to take the SNAP Assessment class through Stanford (free!) to increase my knowledge. https://t.co/wqMX15vhlb#ngsschat
A4: seek out other educators, locally and beyond, doing same work, ask for their units, ideas, how they overcome struggles and adapt to phenomena and problem based units. Tweaking assessments I find and just be open to change! #implementation#NGSSchat
Good clarifying question - content well-beyond what is described by the Framework and because going well-beyond, teaching fact after fact because they have to get it all in before the end of the school year #NGSSchat
A4: Begin the #NGSS implementation journey w/ a clear vision for all students in your district. Then, move towards non-negotiables & budget the approach. Our district is building capacity by personalizing the PD approach to each school through site leadership. #ngsschat
Good question #NGSSchat, familiarizing myself w/DCI progression 6-12. Feeling good about CCC, SEP, and K-5 DCI but want to better prepare K-5 students for the secondary level. NSTA resources, books, & my personal #NGSS geek squad are my plan.
I am thinking a blog to help me think through integrating the microbit and raspberry pi with sensors in my classroom. Not to mention the consistent revising of my lessons to improve their 3-dimensions. #ngsschat
One thing that was helpful to me was to create a concept map of topics with the core questions for each topic. Then I had to find activities that answered those questions it forced me to teach less facts and have kids do more science #ngsschat
I think the best thing to show Ts is that by getting out of the way & sharing the classroom w/Ss "doing" science will be a daily thing Making my classroom a shared learning space has helped me give the reins to my Ss #ngsschat
I don’t know- I’m a former AP Bio teacher and I LOVED just the facts ma’am. :) I sometimes feel sad that I am losing memory of the intricacies of cellular respiration as a K-8 curriculum writer, but I’ve traded up for SEPs, CCCs, and progressions! #ngsschat
A5 Success will look like my Ss leading class & me being more ofa facilitator than teacher I need to be out in front less so Ss can drive the bus #ngsschat
One thing that was helpful to me was to create a concept map of topics with the core questions for each topic. Then I had to find activities that answered those questions it forced me to teach less facts and have kids do more science #ngsschat
Absolutely. We keep working through examples and moving forward with it. I have seen improvements. My favorite part has been the discussions among the students. #ngsschat
In reply to
@frizzlerichard, @BKd204Sci, @mslyons7207
A5: I said at the beginning of the year "Success is students showing improvement in their critical thinking skills." I think I will stick to that. #ngsschat
A5 As a new mom and being new to a building and class, success will look like knowing where I can grow. I’m trying to do so many steps at once I’m just looking forward. I need to be kind to myself and focus on growth for myself and Ss #NGSSchat
#NGSSchat Do you mean students *think* they are in the drivers seat? I believe we have to help teachers see it's about students actually following the breadcrumbs we leave (as opposed to students running off in all directions).
I feel the same way and I am married to an EL teacher. We can't possibly do al the at is needed but it can be the little things. Shortening assignments, close captioning YouTube vids, pair them with an gen ed student that can help. Sit them close to you. #ngsschat
Yeah that is tough. The evidence I have seen is pretty overwhelming. Teaching students to think like scientists has helped ss perform better on the same content tests when they have covered less material than the fact students. I may trouble finding published evidence. #ngsschat
Good clarifying question - content well-beyond what is described by the Framework and because going well-beyond, teaching fact after fact because they have to get it all in before the end of the school year #NGSSchat
A4 I would like to tackle an ecology unit and make it a real 3D unit. I read several different article to get started I think next step is to jump in and make adjustments on fly, reflect and update for next year. #NGSSchat
A5) success looks like day after day of S’s engaged in making sense of phenomena! Solid curricula, unfailing effort, student success... teachers seeing the 3Ds... drinking the cool Aid! #NGSSchat
As we get towards our last 10 minutes-- just an FYI-- we can no longer storify the chat, but @2footgiraffe has been archiving the chat with a new program called @wakelet & sharing on the hashtag #NGSSchat
A5: Success to me this year means more Ts taking steps (baby to giant or anything in between) towards understanding what #NGSS looks like in the classroom and attempting to get there! 🤞🤞 #NGSSchat
Yeah - it´s one of the many parts where I feel like I am failing that student. My ELL is partnered with an awesome young lady, I translate as many docs as possible, through on CC when possible. Still wish I could do more. I will keep plugging away. #ngsschat
A5: Success is seeing ALL students make sense of world through science and furthermore develop their own inquiries. To help teachers see this success, having them bring student notebook samples and calibrating them for the essences of sense making. #NGSSChat
I am VERY much in the same boat! My babe is 20 months, I'm opening a new building and working towards #NBCT... some nights you just have to give yourself grace! We've got this :) #Ngsschat
A3: I’m fortunate to have great mentors in my district but I also closely follow @AmbScienceTeach and @tjscience for professional growth. Currently I’m investigating protocols and strategies for #SEP Asking Questions in K-2. Suggestions for scaffolds are welcome! #NGSSchat
A5: Success looks like coming out of this fellowship year reinvigorated and ready for the next challenge. My colleagues back home can be supportive by understanding why I made the decision to upend my life to do this and supportive my reintegration. #NGSSchat
#NGSSChat Q5 Success will be to show that simple, science-focused coding activities improve students scores on CONCEPTUAL assessments. If we can reinforce science concepts from a code activity and not just computer science, then it will all be worth it!
Q5) success would be teachers feeling supported in taking th risk of transitioning to 3D and phenomenon based instruction and assessment.
Going back to the #ngsschat mastermind can provide hope after those rough days
Classroom culture is crucial to many outcomes in the classroom. I have been working hard to set my classroom up as a safe spot to give it a try, to be willing to try and if you fail, we will work together to help you get success. #ngsschat
What about a student journal? They track the practices as they go throughout the year explaining how they are better than last? Goal is to show growth? #ngsschat
#ngsschat
A5 - Success this year involves using local phenomena. For example, describing the 4 spheres in local context - beaches, parks, and bays students visit in SoCal. Can students look at the world that they know differently? Are we using what we learn to make predictions?
A5: Success looks like...listening to T and S feedback to inform our curriculum edits...working together to give feedback to peers...creating sustainable organizational systems...creating useful PD modules...#ngsschat@RRuggirello good question to lead into tomorrow :)
A6: This is a hard question for me because I am a far from normal educator. I'm a standards geek, working K-12 in all science disciplines.
My biggest personal goal is that now that all the maps for the NGSS Atlas have been drafted is to get them reviewed and published.
#ngsschat
Just an FYI We are on a different schedule in Oct -- #NGSSchat in Oct are Oct 11 from Reno hosted by @nevadascience and Oct 18 hosted by @AcesseProject Thank you to these great organizations for hosting the chats!
A6 Role: Classroom Facilitator
Grade: 8th
Subject: Physics & Earth Science (There is a ton of coherence between the two disciplines)
Goal: To see my Ss using physics process learned now in all the earth sci units that are still ahead #ngsschat
A6: 8th-grade science teacher (my experience is 6-12), I am also a doctoral student in Educational Technology Learning Systems Design and Devlopment. I am working on finding ways to authentically incorporate computer technology and coding in the my 3-d science lessons. #ngsschat
A6) 8th grade integrated science teacher. There are three of us in my grade level at my MS. My goal is to storyline at least one unit this year and push my fellow teachers into more 3D assessments instead of the 40 MC tests. #ngsschat
I am working hard to continue to be a “present” mom. Giving my daughter my whole attention for as much time as possible after I get home and saving the work for when she goes to bed/nap. Big adjustment but totally worth it! #NGSSchat
A6: 7th Grade Science: Earth-Waves-Cells - Genetics-Environment.
Goal: Be better than I was the day before. :) But really focusing on white boarding discussions and phenomena storylines #ngsschat
I think it is very important to focus on local phenomena. Also think it is very important for students to learn about the big world out there. Challenge is to do both within a unit. #ngsschat
A6: Teacher/STEM Specialist/ @cascience Primary Director. K-5. Goal: Equity for #NGSS Implementation in all classrooms, 3D instruction, and more relevant phenomena. #ngsschat
Jeanne Norris @JMNorrisISP | K-8 #mySci curriculum coordinator | Create grade level 3D assessments that are aligned, appropriate, uniform and useful for everyone #ngsschat
Hmm, my grade band is K-12. I work at AVID as a Senior Learning Designer focused on STEM. My main goal for the year is focusing on the development of an introductory STEM PD course for elementary teachers #NGSSchat
Q6; HS 9th grade Bio and 12th grade Enviro Sci, goal: more place based learning in park across from our school, more stories to thread learning into problem based units, nurturing urban kids toward connecting to nature for well being! #NGSSchat
