Good Morning #EduGladiators I am doing a research project over Twitter as professional development and connectedness for educators. Can you share one way your professional life as an educator has benefitted from this and where you are from? Thanks!

A2 Most powerful means of capturing full potential to make positive impact is through students sharing their feedback & growth. Kiddos from another class heard our data talk about continuing to grow & improve. Went back & asked T when they got to see their growth. #EduGladiators
A1: It changes from day to day. Now during the 1st half of Q2, its being real intentional about assisting struggling Ss and their families with righting the ship academically, so we are positioned for a strong Q3 #EduGladiators
Be a part of the solution! Talk to peers about tech you’re excited about, ask if you can present something at a staff meeting, be “the one” teachers turn to for tech advice. Challenges keep your brain alive. #EduGladiators
A2 Active engagement can be transparent and all encompassing. Rubbing off on someone can be seen as sharing ideas, how it works in your area, and encouraging others to try it. #EduGladiators
Yes! When you see the T engaging w/S in the hallway, and you see the reflected joy and connections, you stop your adult chatter and get in on the act - how can you not celebrate the joy and fun these students can bring? Or share in the comfort/support they need? #edugladiators

A2: engaged staff show others what can be done and open their doors, share their prep time and plant ideas (like marigolds they support others) #EduGladiators
A2: A teacher's enthusiasm is infectious to students AND colleagues. "Hey! Would you mind coming by to #ObserveMe? I'd love feedback on..." Change the culture. Change the narrative. Observation =/= evaluation. Taking risks. And failing forward. #EduGladiators#InnovatorsMindset
#EduGladiators I think that it involves leading by example. You need to be the flame that lights the candle of others. Excitement can't help but be contagious!

#EduGladiators A2. I always want to grow and when I share opportunities..I hope they rub off. I've mentored 2 new Ts..I hope our learning experiences are helping them now.

A3. @jarredamato and his Ss started @ProjectLITComm Other Ts throughout US have joined the movement to make great books available to Ss with great results. #EduGladiators
Q2; Awesome question. It rubs off when a colleague tries out a new technology you suggested or they reveal they are taking coursework in something you did a PD on. It shows up in good risk-taking, in an out of the classroom. #EduGladiators
A3. Our most effective teachers are the most collaborative teams in our building. They find joy in working together, sharing ideas and influencing all Ss in the grade level, not just their classroom. These folks also check egos at the door. #EduGladiators
A3) Redefining how we transitioned young adults was a collaborative effort that spanned a year. Continually reflect as a team to grow & adapt. #EduGladiators
A2 A culture of open doors (Ts visiting each other's classrooms) makes innovation & risk-taking contagious. Seeing a T in action helps others think, "I can do that!" #edugladiators
A2. We all enjoy learning, but we don't like to look __________. Ts who have something to share have to prove themselves trustworthy first -- otherwise, they're perceived as a know-it-all. Building that relational foundation is key. #edugladiators
a3 grade level team meetings, working w/one another to help Ss, planning events together and cross-curricular opps for Ss, strengthens relationships and adds to a more positive classroom/school culture #EduGladiators

#EduGladiators A3: Because of the change in our school schedule I won't be able to offer the #geniushour time to our 6th graders as I had in the past. So now I'm going to extend the culture of making beyond the library with mobile makerspaces.

A4. Providing a platform for Ts to have a real voice in decisions that impact the school. Build up as many leaders as possible to get the bus moving in the right direction. #EduGladiators
A4 #EduGladiators Our district has adopted an initiative to become more trauma-informed. I feel like this is putting a name to what I've always believed. Every behavior occurs for a reason. We need to be able to meet each child where they are, not where we'd like them to be.
A4: same answer & we are changing the world every day. Every small act of school kindness, relationship, creativity, & care at a time 🙏👍 #Edugladiators

A3) Our middle school PLC meets once a week and focuses on students and solutions. We may not always agree on things, but we leave the meeting with the same mindset and the same goals. Being a small school means we can focus on Ss and all know them personally #EduGladiators
A4: We are changing the script with our advisory 1st thing in the morning. Each student is seen, heard and told that they are loved. Every adult has a group including Principal, AP, counselor, and social worker! #EduGladiators
