Could the Eval $ be pooled w/other districts to make more effective use of funding? #masspchat
  • MrsChelseyM Feb 20 @ 8:40 PM EST
Not to mention training new Ps as they come on board and have to catch up! Maybe that new AP you're hoping for @MrCarlsonSHS! #masspchat
    • BobKefgen Feb 20 @ 8:39 PM EST
$ to train Ts is part of what the second round of eval $ could be used for. Also rater reliability, coaching/feedback, etc. #masspchat
  • sewardstephen Feb 20 @ 8:41 PM EST
If you would like a curriculum for this, let me know. I had built one in a previous role and it's sitting on my computer. #masspchat
    • DSISDSuper Feb 20 @ 8:38 PM EST
      - We are trying to develop a more comprehensive New Teacher Academy. Evaluation is obviously a major component. #masspchat

Could be. The language isn't specific, but I doubt the state would say no to collaboration. #masspchat

    Q5 is imminent… #masspchat
  • BobKefgen Feb 20 @ 8:43 PM EST
At Risk $ would go up by over $100/pupil (to $778/pupil) under the Gov's rec & over 130,000 more Ss would be eligible. #masspchat
  • BobKefgen Feb 20 @ 8:43 PM EST
At Risk $ would now cover Ss in hold harmless dists, those getting SNAP or TANF $, migrants, homeless Ss, & foster children. #masspchat
  • BobKefgen Feb 20 @ 8:43 PM EST
Q5:What % of your Ss are At Risk? What will this additional funding and expanded eligibility mean for your building? #masspchat
  • MrCarlsonSHS Feb 20 @ 8:45 PM EST
@McarmeanMichael does this report--I'd say 1/3 qualify as at-risk? W/ extra $ I would like to introduce additional summer school #masspchat

Q5:What % of your Ss are At Risk? What will this additional funding and expanded eligibility mean for your building? #masspchat
  • BobKefgen Feb 20 @ 8:47 PM EST
About half the Ss in the state will now be eligible for At Risk. So expect that # to increase. #masspchat

    Let's take Q5 in a different direction... #masspchat
  • BobKefgen Feb 20 @ 8:48 PM EST
Q5a:@onetoughnerd's At Risk $ comes w/ new strings incl addtnl oversight. When does regulation outweigh the benefit of addtnl $? #masspchat
    In reply to @onetoughnerd
  • jmessenger34 Feb 20 @ 8:49 PM EST
A5- About 25% every little bit will help as we work to eliminate the gap between our bottom 30% and the top. #masspchat
  • MrCarlsonSHS Feb 20 @ 8:49 PM EST
A5a: Every new report someone needs to complete is a cost to the district, financial & opportunity. So this is a huge concern #masspchat

    Q6 coming in 1 min…last Q of the night. #masspchat
  • MrCarlsonSHS Feb 20 @ 8:50 PM EST
Good way to frame this--our gap btwn top 30/bottom 30 needs attention #masspchat

At Risk is pretty flexible, but I don't know that answer specifically. Maybe someone else on #masspchat does.

Q6:Does your district run a CTE program? What equipment expenses do you face? #masspchat
  • MrCarlsonSHS Feb 20 @ 8:54 PM EST
Sanilac County Career Center is housed/ran by ISD. This $ would be huge for them, if it is one-time would not do much for local #masspchat
