I'm a "veteran"teacher and technology wasn't in my world when I started teaching! CPSREDs have allowed me to learn, grow, and share.
Also I'm not afraid to be vulnerable in front of my students. They need to see us be human.
A2: Listening, validating, and taking responsibility.
A1: Work Ethic, self motivation, and technology. Keeping up with the latest and greatest to see if it benefits S's.

A3: I now have bags hanging from my doorway representing our "baggage" that we all carry. It helps to see we ALL have stuff.

A3 I move the students a lot and we laugh way too much.
A3: Getting lots of weekend emails for help with final projects from Ss even if its a Sunday. Starting to see an impact!
A3 Our district's motto is "Making Champions for Life". We say that so much that it is sinking tin to everyone. We needed that.
A3- Student ownership and voice visually displayed throughout the room, lots of use of the word "we" and "our" to show community

A3 My classroom is home. It brings smiles, comfort, and stability for my kiddos.

A4: My kids are greeted each morning with a hug or high five, and leave each day hearing that I love them.
A3) My classroom is fairly relaxed, want my S to feel comfy. I try to treat & talk to my high schoolers more like adults than kids.
A4: I get accused of being too empathetic if there is such a thing. Sometimes it's exhausting. Like I said show your Ss you r human.
You have to be real. You can fool the fans but can not fool the players
A4: I try to genuinely respond and give them the time they need, even when it isn't in my schedule. Work related or not.
Q4. How do you show compassion and empathy to Ss and others? I break the ice greet each one daily and wish each one a great weekend.
A4: empathy, second chances, no black and white situations, and always start fresh the next day
movement is key Ss shouldn't sit more minutes than their age. My Ss move every 15 minutes
A4: Stopping to take the time to truly LISTEN to them when needed.
A4 My goal when teaching tech is to always respect where Ts are and not make them feel bad about not knowing how to use tech
Just general knowing and connecting. You can't lead people without a connection. Ts, Ss, As, everyone. Get their heart to get them
